"Right now, we're really living through a difficult moment in our culture where librarians are forced to be at the forefront of the culture wars," said Jeff Kinney, author of the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series, in an interview with the Sentinel. "They're dealing with problems they didn't have to deal with in this kind of a way before, so we just wanted to recognize and celebrate librarians and encourage them to keep doing what they're doing."
