dating back to the 18th century, and we saw some of these lovely homes which are now being remaid into small hotels, boutique hotels. and in neighborhoods where the streets are so potholed and pot marked that one said we didn't know we had a civil war because it looks like the streets of cobo. it's bombed out. when you see these painted homes and the flower pots and the care that's gone into this, and the streets, the infrastructure which is still sadly deteariatored, in the historic area of old havana it is absolutely beautiful. it was renovated and restored maybe 15, 20 years ago with the help of others putting money into it. and here there have been new hotels that opened two weeks
