they were now getting their flights under way. this lasted about a couple of hours, they say. american airlines says that the first problems were noted around noon eastern time, and that at 12:30 they asked the faa to impose a ground halt for planes headed to and from -- american airlines planes headed to and from o'hare, miami and dallas/ft. worth, three of their big hubs. at about 2:00, a little before 2:00 eastern, they -- we've got word that some planes were taking off again from both nbc news producers who are traveling today and other nbc news colleagues who were traveling today, there's a family traveling today. they aren't telling us yet exactly what the problem was, but it was a relatively brief problem, certainly briefer than the problems that other airlines have had with computers this summer. thomas? >> we'll continue to watch this
