interest of the state of indiana and its people. do you think there can be a legislative fix, an amendment to the law itself or do you agree with those on the democratic side calling for a complete repeal? >> well one of the issues for myself as a university president and something i was clear when i spoke out. we don't typically -- i don't feel comfortable stepping into the political or legal arena for that matter. my job as i have done consistently at butler and i believe strongly in is to make sure that we have a campus community that's open for dialogue no matter what opinion you might have. i still stand by that. my driving intent here is really to ensure that we do have open and constructive conversation about this and we set aside the political animosity that's out there quite frankly. the issue here with it being ill conceived, i don't think people anticipated the impact negative impact it would have and we've got to work to make sure we
