plane stalled just after takeoff. but the ntsb will come up with a specific cause. >> so glad to know he's okay, ted. thank you so much. abc's ted rowlands reporting live from l.a. let's turn to another aviation accident. this one in new york involving a commercial airliner. the jet coming in from atlanta skidded off the main runway at one of the country's most congested airport and nearly ended up in the bay. lana zak has more on the latest winter travel nightmare. >> reporter: this is the frightening scene at new york's la guardia airport. delta flight 1086, its nose punching through a fence and leaking fuel after sliding off the runway. >> the airport is closed. the airport is closed. please advise crash rescue. la guardia airport is closed at this time. >> reporter: a close call for the jet flying in from atlanta with 132 people onboard. >> there are only minor injuries that have been reported. at this point, we believe two passengers have been transported to hospitals.
