deal on a two-year agreement on new spending caps not including immigration. they are expected to raise spending on military and domestic priorities and we heard some bipartisan optimism. >> senator schumer and i had a good meeting this morning about a caps deal and the other issues we've been discussing from some -- for some months now. i'm optimistic that very soon we'll be able to reach an agreement. >> it's an agreement i've discussed some of the outlines with my caucus that i think we are very happy with and hopefully the republicans are and then we can get something really good done. >> last night the house passed a six-week government funding extension to run through march 23 to boost military funding through the fiscal year. now it goes to the senate but democrats there are demanding more domestic spending. so if that six-week extension is dead on arrival in the senate the key to unlocking all this seems to be that spending caps agreement.
