companies just for existing when they're gonna employ our workers? that doesn't make sense to me. >> what your study says, then, if politicians want to create jobs and everybody should be listening right now because the midterms are coming up and everybody wants to create jobs and take credit for it. what should they do? >> right, well i think policymakers in particular need to really rethink how they think the economy works. even, i think, most established economists would be surprised by this data, that it's not companies that are 1-year-old or 2 years old that create these jobs. it's three million net new jobs. the gross creation numbers are overwhelming for new businesses but the net numbers just blow you away so i just -- if everybody saw this report, they'd really rethink the rules and the structure of the economy. not the old things where we already have our trenches dug and know where everybody stands. >> fascinating finding. tim kaine at the ewing marian cough m
