is the war inside yemen. the war is going terribly for saudi arabia and the people of yemen, who have seen 100,000 die of either bombs or starvation or disease. so our resolution pulls the united states out of that military coalition with saudi arabia. and given what a high priority that coalition is to the saudis, it's probably the most important, the most impactful signal that you can send to them. additionally, i think it speaks to what we're learning about the saudis. for one, we've been in this coalition with them for a while, because we believed them when they told us that they aren't intentionally hitting civilians inside yemen with these bombs that we help support. the fact is, all the evidence told us to the contrary it was true, that they were intentionally hitting civilians, and now having been lied to about khashoggi, a lot of senators are coming to the conclusion that they were lying to us about what was happening inside yemen.
