visit there. >> the pope made those comments a short time ago in dublin as he continues to address the abuse scandals that have plagued the church. international correspondent phil black is live in dublin for us today, phil? >> reporter: good morning. as the pope has been to a place of holy pilgrimage for many catholics this morning, a shrine that marks the location of an ap higs of the mother of christ. he prayed for victims of sexual abuse and other cruelties within the church and begged lord for forgiveness and talked about sins as being an open wound. he's right, they are, that's how many in the country feel. catholics still practice and loyal to the church and many people across ireland to have turned their back on the pope and the church as well. what they want to hear from him
