and do something very aggressive, the worst thing you can do right now is tread heavily on this marsh grass. so this is a test of patience. >> reporter: talk about patience, we all want it. the people living here may be out of it. >> well, we're not done yet. >> reporter: and they tell me they're going to be here as long as it takes, and employing people as long as it takes as well. but they don't nearly employ as much. those people that were employed to clean up the bp spill, they are not so employed now. the amount of commercial fishing area the gulf that was closed has shrunk dramatically, down to 16,000 square miles really out by the wellhead where they are cleaning off some of that equipment. all of the testing of fish for consumption has come back negative. the hope is that the fishing industry bounces back as well and so does the economy and we're hoping that the stalks of green grass take root as well
