Today, Lake Tahoe is the most visited national forest in California, says Jim Bacon, director of public service for the Forest Service’s Region 5.
He conservatively estimates 10 million people come to Tahoe every year - more than twice as many people as the 4.5 million who visited Yosemite National Park in 2019.
