Deadly double killing at Bessemer Easter gathering ruled justifiable

An Easter shooting at a family gathering in Bessemer that left two people dead has been ruled justifiable and no charges will be filed.
Bessemer police were called just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday to the 10 block of First Street North. When they arrived on the scene, they found a man and woman in the yard both suffering from gunshot wounds.
Kendrick Felix Morrisette, 22, was pronounced dead on the scene. Kamisha Malea Davis, 27, was taken to UAB Medical West where she was pronounced dead at 7:38 p.m. Authorities said Davis was the sister of Morrissette’s girlfriend.
