EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The state of Indiana reported 12 deaths due to COVID-19 on Sunday, passing the 13,000 mark since the pandemic began. A total of 13,003 Hoosiers have now died from the illness caused by the novel coronavirus.
Vanderburgh County and its neighbors all reported single-digit new cases of COVID-19 Sunday: seven in Vanderburgh, three in Gibson, two in Warrick and one in Posey County. Vanderburgh reported one new COVID-related death.
Vanderburgh reported 384 new fully vaccinated individuals Sunday. There are now 68,624 fully immunized residents, or approximately 38% of the county's U.S. Census 2019 ACS (5-year) population estimate of 181,451.
Vanderburgh County's seven-day positivity rate for individuals remains steady, with the same 6.7% figure from Saturday's numbers also reported on Sunday.
