Cutting down on salt intake as good as medicines for high BP: Study

A recent study published in JAMA suggests that reducing salt intake can be as effective as commonly prescribed medications for managing high blood pressure. The study followed 213 individuals aged 50 to 75 years with varying blood pressure conditions. The participants followed one-week high- and low-sodium diets, with the low-sodium diet resulting in an average reduction of 8-mm Hg in systolic blood pressure.
