The state legislative session ended with a historic win for New Yorkers in need. Lawmakers passed the Child Poverty Reduction Act, which sets a goal of reducing child poverty in the state by 50% over the next 10 years.
Now that the goal is in place, how will New York get there?
Kate Breslin, president and CEO of the Schuyler Center for Analysis and Advocacy, spoke with
Capital Tonight about the issue.
“The first thing that needs to happen is the governor needs to sign the legislation,” Breslin said.
