Manuel Rivero, provincial health director, told Prensa Latina that the laboratory is being built in a facility of the University of Medical Sciences and will be one of the most modern in the country. According to the schedule, he said, it will start operating next month, by providing greater autonomy in the diagnosis of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes Covid-19, tests that have been carried out so far in Villa Clara, at the Pedro Kouri Institute of Tropical Medicine and in other centers in the national territory.
