I wouldnt be surprised applause thank you. I wouldnt be surprised to see us move the needle to the best seller list today. Its even more important to keep the book festival a free event. The Library Congress and book festival is a real purpose. Its literacy. It leads to learning and opportunity, which is our goal to help our community succeed. Learning to love books and learning to Love Learning our with the book festival is all about. In this session, ron chernow will discuss his biography of ulysses grant. And certain other popular Founding Fathers if we are lucky. One thing i learned from the story of president grant was how people could evolve through persistence and hard work, acknowledge and overcome their imperfections. Its an incredible story. It reminded me of that personal goodwill, we can really learn from the mistakes and reach their potential. Hope you enjoy the session. I am pleased to be joined on stage today by ron chernow. Ron is an Award Winning journalist, historian and biographer. He has won the Pulitzer Prize for biography and the National Book award for nonfiction. In 2015, he won the National Humanities medal. His book on Alexander Hamilton was the inspiration for the Award Winning musical for which ron worked asg battle after bat. Grant was winning one victory after another.
