Tom, you get the first question. Mr. Hazel from your Party Supports very strict limits on the size of government and minimum in peoples lives. Take this briefly through how a libertarian government would have reacted to the coronavirus and why the steps an idiot would take to limit the spread. We are strict constitutionalists and by strict, anti federalist. The ninth amendment which secures not enumerated in the constitution to the people and we believe the tenth amendment that reserves all powers, not delegated to the federal government specifically in the constitution to the state. One thing we dont do is call people unnecessary. Everybody in an economy is essential. Every one of us and like my opponent said, they have signal out nonessential people. We have an economy based on production and service. Sweat and tears on their own equity and risk for his killed more than a million jobs here in georgia. Its absolutely unconscious unconstitutional to begin with. We love the state and people to act their own interest. Allow people to go out there and exercise right to commerce, to trade, to travel, to the right of assembly and protest for and we dont lock people up and we dont point guns and people. Donna thank you very thank you very much. Very quickly just appointed admin we cant see you within 10 seconds. Okay then i will stay 10 seconds. Thanks for letting me know. Raul please ask the question to senator perdue. E. Senator perdue at one of begin with education. Ingiit the summer brian kemp and ridgewoods road to the Trump Administration asking federal requirements for standardized tf quote the ongoing challenges posed and resulting in a state Budget Reduction but last month u. S. Education secretary betsy devoss responded by saying quote you should not anticipate such waivers again. She is referring to it was waived last school year but not this school year. First david perdue do you agree with the secretary devoss and second is there a role for congress and the say of students in the School System having to deal with federal requirements especially when you have school districtsci like in my listing area Hancock County which is still all virtual . Raul thats a great question but first let me thank the Atlanta Press club in gpb and all the viewers for tonights event or its a very time in a very special event. My mom and dad were schoolteachers of dade believed the bus decisions are made by b the parents Teachers Principals and it should not be limited to the economic circumstances of your committee bid let me bracket where we are going to hear tonight. Firstin of all jon ossoff is desperate. He willl say anything to hide hs radical socialist agenda. He wants to defund the police open borders and sanctuary cities where where he once agree new deal. He wants to cut and Close Military bases in georgia and in for socialized medicine. He will say anything to hide his radical socialist agenda. 10 seconds. Its dangerous for communities and families in georgia. Thank you very much. I think i get a rebuttal here, do i not . Yes, you get a rebuttal and you can raise your hand and let me know that you wanted or do what you just did which was tell me. Go ahead. Senator we canan see you are reading from an outside your staff has prepared him the question was about the covid19 pandemic which has killed nearly 220,000 americans after you ensure it is the risk to our health was low and compared it to the common flu. Instead of pivoting like all of the washington polish it politicians do the personal partisan shots and whether you tellch us what you are doing lie helping schools . Emma please ask the question to jon ossoff. Mr. Ossoff if you win this election you could become the youngest u. S. Senator and you dont have any experience in Holding Political office. In this pandemic and economic crisis why should voters trust you in holding officer may one . Politicians like senator perdue a failed us in the choice isen clear for voters in this election. I run a business that investigates organized crime political corruption and war crimes all over the world. Wear have exposed bribery on multiple continents and senator david perdue cells meetings for corporate backed checks where he sells lavish where treats him a private island where he lived for corporate pack money. Thats the corruption destroying our political and my politicians dont serve images of ordinary people today serve the interests of our donors. Senator perdue admits of this pandemic is pushingiv a lawsuito allow Insurance Company to deny Health Coverage to people with preexisting conditions like asthmao and cancer and diabetes because he works for his daughters and not for we the people. 10 p seconds. I think i get to respond to that. Yes sir go ahead. Im glad jon ossoff brought this up at like and explain where his money comes from really in his business. One of his largest clients is aljazeera the mouthpiece for terrorism. Hes got money for two years from Chinese Communist government and tried to hide it by not disclosing it on the federal Action Commission report. Itsec pretty clear he certainly doesnt want people in georgia to know he continues ton be supported and 2017 and two weeks ago he supported the communist party of the u. S. Stay. Thank you very much. Senator of the Washington Post. That is patently false. Is out the rule we have . I believeth he accuses me of those kinds of things that a rebuttal is appropriate. We were told to get one rebuttal. You have 30 seconds to rebut criticism or you want to say mr. Ossoff . He just accused me of ridiculous things to avoid answering a question about health care. The Washington Post is called senators perdue attacks a righteously false and the Associated Press calls senatot perdues attacks flatly false. My business looks out war crime in every region of the world. Is it true youve gotten money from the Chinese Government for the last two years . Im sorry we will have to move on. Atat this point we are going too back to raul tassoba questionedo shane hazel please. Sorry about that. The question for mr. Hazel. You and i had a recentaz conversation about real broadband. The state of georgias Broadband Deployment Initiative has beenb. Trying to map problems with Internet Access across the state in my listing area 33 of my audience is considered underserved and getting even ask us to rural rock band. During our conversation he said state and local level should be looking at private contracts. Can youou go a little more into that because at the moment in my listing area you have the southern half access with only one provider. For example should broadband be considered aro utility . Sydney what are the solutions for rural broadband. Theba southern government has almost zero or zero power to do anything in terms of infrastructure. This is really looking at georgia andd this is not what we should be looking at right now. We have got in every nation we are in 120 nations around the world. We have a collapsing economy right now and 27 million in debt. We have no money. We are absolutely broke right now and we havent bureaucracy thatha is taking the middleman stuck in between the taxpayer and the utilities begin with. You can probably start with less surveillance on the roadways and put that in eyebrow pics getting it out to those areas if you want to solve it. Its absolutely a state and local issue. Thank you very much. Tom please ask the question to jon ossoff. Mr. Ossoff used it recently dont support packing the Supreme Court but i dont believe that you have said yet whether you would support the constitutional amendment introduced by senator perdue that would limit the court to no moree than nine justices. Is that amendment a good idea and why or why not . I think judicial reform is a prerogative of congress and what i dont support is adding a seat to the Supreme Court because we dont like the policy positions of the justices that have been confirmed that lets remember four years ago senator perdue was adamant. He gave impassioned floor speech is on the Florida Senate senate that no confirmation in the Supreme Court justice should proceed in it president ial Election Year and now hes grown those socalled principles aside in your swipe at the Supreme Court will order arguments on the affordable character and his protections forar georgians wit. Existing conditions days after his election and senator perdue works for the Insurance Agency and wants to rest her Supreme Court confirmation to repeal the Affordable Care act and let Insurance Companies deny coveragera to georgians with conditions like asthma, diabetes and heart disease. 10 seconds. I would like to respond please. Absolutely senator perdue. s sixth jon ossoff will hide anything to hide his social the situation in 2016 you mentioned is totally different than it is today. We have a Different Party in the white house than we did in the senate than we do today. We have both parties in the white house and the senate of the same party. Justice ginsburg said when that happens of course you should go and confirm. Thank you very much. Am i you get the final question in this round and that is to senator perdue. Senator perdue during the Trump Administration you closely aligned yourself to the president and according to a constitutional pulpit he presented georges people disapprove of the job the president is doing. You will need some of those voters to win this election and what is your message to them . First of all in six years ive traveled all over the state and listen to people and their troubles and how they are trying to deal with the federal government thats been blown down to size but even a pandemic we reached out to 1 million georgians and listened and tried toht help them get through this crisis. What i talk about is this, results. After eight years of the lost economic output in u. S. History we turn this around and have now going on. Covid the greatest economic turnaround in u. S. History. 7. 5 million jobs in the highest of employment ever measured the lowestn africanamerican and asian and hispanic unemployment. From the Great Society where they did not move the party at all in the last three and a a hf years. Covid 6. 5 Million People pull themselves out of poverty contrasting with the abide in obamabiden plan 800,000 people fell in the poverty and thats what they want to go back to more regulations more taxes. Thank you very much. Thank you sir. That concludes the first portion of the debate where the candidates will now ask a question to each of their opponents. Candidates will have 15 seconds asked the question, 60 seconds to respond and 30 seconds for a rebuttal. Shane hazel you have the first question to jon ossoff. You have come out in support of biden and Kamala Harris. Biden was the author of the 94 crime bill that put forth qualified immunity come increase the drug warp Police Militarization no knock raids and Kamala Harris the top copopn california has lost does lots more black men in cages than anybody in any other state in history. How is it that you can support these two and then also support blm . Thank you for the question mr. Hazel and i learned about Public Service at the feet of my mentor congressman john lewis who his entire life and his entire career fighting for civil rights and Voting Rights and thats why i will be a champion for criminal Justice Reform in the unitedus states senate. We have to recognize that racial profilingnd of brutality, these are not isolated incidents that senator perdue has said. This is the systemic problem in our criminal Justice System ands why we need a new Civil Rights Act and National Standards for the use of force. Why we need a new Voting Rights act to endnd racial profiling ad criminal justice. When a young black man Ahmaud Arbery was shot to death in the street in broad daylight in georgia and local Police Prosecutors look the other way that makes a mockery of the 14th amendment equal protection guaranteed in the u. S. Constitution and thats why we have civil rights laws. Senator perdue didnt even show up when he was invited to address the naacp about how we can reform the system. Thank you very much. David perdue its your turn to ask a question to shane hazel. 30 seconds for a bottle. Shane also got to rebut that for 30 seconds. Shane would you like to rebut that . I dont think mr. Ossoff answer the question. I think whatat we have is an expediency move. What we are doing is playing Party Politics instead of supporting joe biden and Kamala Harris. Theres a president ial nominee in the party thats fighting for the end to qualified immunity in the drug wars and Police Militarization and no knock raids. We are being honest and consistent with who we will are supporting. Thank you very much. Youve done a nice job tonight donna. You know jon ossoff this is what im talking about. This is all talk. I agree 100 that law wasne written by joe biden and it locked up more black men in this country than any law in the last 255 years where would we get the last two years is as criminal Justice Reform that freed africanamerican young men who were nonviolent drug offenders. They had 26 years the democrats had to do something about criminal Justice Reform and they did zero. Thank you very much. Senator perdue its your turn to ask a question to shane hazel. First of all shayan i want to thank you for your military service and i mean that from my heart. We just heard that jon ossoff attack the Paycheck Protection Program. If you would have been in the senate would you have protected the Paycheck Protection Program . No when as libertarians we dont believe in going outside of the constitutional boundaries. The constitutional boundaries are very strict and very specific in article i, section 8 lays out most of our power spread our powers are negotiations in commerce. We are an external looking part of our government without any real influence on the daytoday rise. What i would have done is made sure our governor, governor kemp, understood he does not have the right to block us from assembly and does not have the right to force coercion through police in shares to make sure we are dissembling. What we should have done is said to evaluate the risk on your own and go out there and do it you need to do to make your family essentially have food and clothing and leave everybody alone. Good ideas dont require force and that is how we have liberty in our rights here in america. Thank you for the question. Thank you very much. Jon ossoff. Hey donna i believe i get a rebuttable a rebuttal. Shane i agree 100 with the concept of limited government. I do think in a situation we are in an unprecedented pandemic that requires people to survive there pandemic. We m brought 47 million to the state of georgia to
