Candidates, 202 7488922. You can also text us at 202 7488903. Florida, this is susan, a supporter of President Trump caller thank you for taking my call. Yes, i voted for President Trump. I voted for him because of his policies, not because of his personality. Iran. What he did with highlight like what he did with nafta. I liked what he did with nato. I liked his trade agreements. I especially like his peace agreements in the middle east. Biden, i didnt vote for or against him because i voted for someone this time. Joe biden is an empty suit and a trojan horse. The man has trouble with his memory, his family really should be ashamed. But anyway, forget joe biden. Out,er the election turns i will not be marching on washington if my candidate does not get in. Trumpsally did like policies and i hope he continues in a second term if he is given one. And that is really it. Of joeexas, a supporter biden, hello. Caller hi. Host good morning. Caller good morning. Here is the thing, i was going to comment on what she just said but i dont have time for that. What i want to speak about is if the selection runs about power, money, and risk. Race. That is what it was about. Power because the obvious. Because of a number of things you can talk about with trunk with money. Issues with money. He has been bought and sold. He doesnt have any money, he doesnt pay taxes. Just a gambit of things. And race because he has topped about just about every race, he has demeaned just about every race. Also because host that is why youre against the current president. Why are you supporting joe biden . Caller i was talking about the reason about the whole thing about the election. Because joe biden was the Vice President of Barack Hussein obama. That says enough. Why, another reason because of race and the fact that kamala isay indian and all this other stuff what they see as a black woman. It is really simple, what this is about. It is about money, power, and race. You areu said that supporting joe biden because he was the Vice President of president obama. Clarify that. Caller because of all of the , what they were allowed to accomplish and doing their time together. Just upon that. Kamalas record, that is why i am supporting those two. Int lets hear from hall their backs virginia, a supporter of trump. Paul in fairfax, virginia. Caller unlike most republicans, i like to say i can see the faults and a compliment fairly. Trump has raised the debt so much. But one of the nice inks he has done is with nato, he has been telling the other countries you have got to pay up because they were not paying up. I have been following this election very closely and i have to say it is over for donald trump because he is going to lose wisconsin, hes going to lose michigan. I do believe he will win pennsylvania, but in the end he is going to lose because of wisconsin, michigan, and arizona. I have to say i am in crowley surprised that he lost arizona because arizona voted for romney in 2012. I have been hearing that there have been more of a latino voters in arizona, that is one of the reasons why he lost. But like i said, i really did not consider including arizona. I thought he was going to win the election. Its over. He is going to lose this election probably by three electoral votes which is really surprising, it is going to be a complete punch in the face to all of the people who voted for him. Rick inll hear from florida, a supporter of joe biden. Caller thanks for letting me call in. I just want to know what planet all these Trump Supporters are living on. , iryone knows that the sky thought everybody knew he was nothing but a Money Laundering Reality Tv Show host. But apparently they knew it and didnt care or they didnt know. I mean, the country is over. Democracy is dead in this country. The country was over when that an impeachment failed in the early part of the year. People like john bolton who should have testified and could ought tod this country be tried and ought to be called the traitor that they are. In this not a bank country who would do business with donald trump, he was never a successful businessman. Fined so many times it is incredible. Host i have been a broken record about this all day, why are you supporting joe biden . Caller because i want some sanity back in government. I am tired of living in a reality chaotic show that is donald trump. Im 63 years old, i have never voted before in my life until the selection. This guy, they talk about his policies. This guy is totally defunded Social Security and medicare. These older people calling in supporting them, dont they realize that . The 30 billion that Social Security and medicare is going to lose by december 31, how is that going to get made up . How is the interest on that money that Social Security would have been able to give to me, and by the way, that is my money, that is not the governments money. They took 1. 5 of my salary for 40 years as i made my employers contribute 1. 5 , and then they dont pay me any interest on it, and when it is time for me to retire, they are going to tell me how much of my money they are going to give to me every month. Host ok, ok. Well have to leave it there. Florida, finishing off our next to last hour on washington journal as we continue on talking about yesterdays results from the election. We have been showing the data and taking calls. We will continue to do the same in this last hour. Phone numbers are on the screen. If you support another candidate altogether, there is a number for you. You can post on facebook. You can text us. With that information about the results of the election and where we stand as of this hour where where we guest we stand at this hour is where we have been all morning when it comes to the presidency. Joe biden leading the electoral 13 over 238to hunt president 238213. In the senate, six races yet to be called. We are seeing movement as we wait for the rest of the results in the residential and senate races in the house. Right now, here is what the map looks like. You can find the map on our website, cspan. Org. Emma kratz in the house now with 190 seats, members either reelected or elected for the first time. Republicans with 185 seats. Democrats started this cycle 230201 seat majority in the house. Republicans needed 17 seats to take over the house. That was unlikely headed into election day. Expectationsefying by perhaps picking up a handful of seats in the house when most of those who were predicting the results said republicans could lose anywhere into the double digits or early 20s amount of seats in the house. Kevin mccarthy, the House Majority leader, sending this tweet this morning, saying republicans defied the odds and grew the Party Last Night and District Across the country. Americans rejected socialism and voted for freedom. Nancy pelosi, he said, referring to the speaker, you have been put on notice. From the other side of the aisle in the house, this reporting from jake sherman of politico. House democrats are confused. They are angry at the Democratic Congressional campaign committee, the campaign arm of house democrats. They are unsure where to go next. It is a mix of what just happened and dont blame me. While days are ahead. The lameduck section session of congress is coming up. So our leadership election so are the leadership elections. To add insult to injury, the , thewoman of the dccc illinois democrat, is struggling to hang onto her district. Speaker pelosi and her Leadership Team will have a lot to explain in the next few weeks. Republicans could have a net gain of 10 seats. Cheri bustos ahead in her race, but just about four points in that illinois 17th district. I just want to take you through a few of the races still on the board, races in the house that we are watching. They include michigans eighth congressional district, covers on alyssa slot, the freshman there, the congresswoman hanging on to her seat in the house. The republican in that race is 47. 3 percent. There is still a bit more reporting to be done in michigans eighth strict. There foring michigan, the allimportant state in the president ial race as well. Heading to virginia, to the commonwealth, the freshman democrat there behind in her race against a republican challenger, 49. 6 50. 4 . There is 100 reporting, but as ballots hasmailin made the 100 reporting number not exactly complete as we wait to see what happens with other mailin ballots that may still be coming in. To new yorks 11th congressional district, the district where congress and max rose is trying to hold onto his seat he might not be doing it. 42. 1 . Has a republican challenger is 57. 9 . There is not much left in that district. Some 95 reporting. Those are freshman democrats whose races were key races to watch this cycle. Knowther race to let you about is in minnesotas seventh congressional district. That is the western seventh congressional district, the district of Collin Peterson. He is in a district that went in 2016 for President Trump by 30 points, and yet he was able to hold onto that seat in 2016. He is not going to be holding onto it this cycle. That race called for his republican challenger in that there. Nd the results 54 . After decades in washington, Collin Peterson finally defeated. Republicans tried many times over decades to try to win that seat. They always thought it was a seat that should be in republican hands. Collin peterson defied expectation for a very long time. Did not do with this cycle. Host elections being about those who one and those who lost. And gave concession acceptance speeches because of that. A tear from someone expected to be in one of the tough races, senator joni ernst, the republican from iowa, who won last night. Here is part of her speech. Withernst i did speak theresa greenfield and i did congratulate her on a hardfought campaign. I respect anyone who is willing to hold their hat throw their hat in the ring for public service. I thanked ms. Greenfield for doing that. It sixlet me say we did years ago. We did it again. [cheers and applause] so, six years ago on election night, many of you asked, what was my favorite part of the campaign . And i told you that weaning actually felt pretty darn good. Tonight it does feel even better. Thank you. I appreciate it. For those of you that voted for me, i want to thank you. And just to say that i will spend the next six years working every single day to live up to the honor that you have given me as your United States senator. I would also like to Say Something to every iowan, whether you supported me or not. This has been a very difficult year and a very challenging election for all of us. People on both sides feel divided. Emotions and those wounds are very, very wrong. But the election is over, and it is time to start the healing. We need to turn down the rhetoric and start listening once again. Thank you. [applause] and we have to start listening, folks, because we are all americans, and there is far more that unites us than divides us. And the challenges that we face, whether it is from covid to the economic recovery that is yet ahead of us, they are too great for any individual to do alone. Again, senator joni ernst, republican of iowa, from last night. If you want to see these speeches, you can go to our website at cspan. Org. One person also giving a speech last night was alabamas incumbent senator, doug jones, the democrat from that state, losing to his race with, to prevail. Losing his race. Here is part of his concession speech. Sen. Jones tonight did not turn out the way we wanted. I am reaching out to congratulate him and offer our support for whatever transition we can do. He to remind him that now represents one alabama, and not just those folks that voted. He represents everybody. That is what we have tried to do. Folks, let me tell you. What we have done the last three years is more than just about one senate race. It has never been about doug jones or the jones family. About a always been state, a state we all love, a state we care about. A state that has gone through massive changes over the years. And we are in the process of going through those again. We have seen so many Different Things that have happened over the last few years. We have seen so many good things and positive things. But at the end of the day, alabama is still a work in progress. We know that. Alabama still ranks low in education. We still rank high in unhealthy outcomes. Westill rank in a place that want to make sure we can do better. Those are the things we are going to continue to work on. Those of the things that you have been working on with me for the last three years. For that, everybody in alabama to be appreciative. I know i am. I know there are folks in washington, d. C. That are. As we go forward, we are not going to stop, because one of the things that we all know when we came up and started coming out, and we came out of last year with one alabama, we meant it. We are all in this together. We are doing everything to lift goalposts, to make sure that every man, woman, and child in alabama has an equal opportunity , are treated equally with dignity and respect, make sure they have the opportunities for a job and better education. Those of the things we have been talking about. Those of the things you have been talking about. Those are the things we are going to continue to build. I am proud of all that has happened in the last three years. At the end of the day, my time in the senate is going to be over, but our time is just beginning. We hear from crystal town in North Carolina, supporter of President Trump. Go ahead. A great, wonderful nation. Whoever wins, support them. The last four years, we got somewhere anyway. He is not perfect. Are you . Come on. Host exactly why are you supporting the president this time around . Caller because hes on our side. Because hes on our side. He just supports our nation. Hes not going to sell us out. It is perfectly clear. 80 to fillt makes up her gas tank if you skip one day, your kids dont eat a day. Host that is crystal in North Carolina. Lets go to massachusetts, a supporter of a thirdparty or other candidate. Norman, go ahead. Caller thank you for taking my call. I could talk about why the major did not get mys thirdparty support, but the main thing i called about is this. I think there is a story that is being missed in the u. S. Senate race in maine. Throughout the night, Susan Collins lead has been dropping. It got down as low as 50. 2, but it has gained in the past hour. If it goes below 50, ranked Choice Voting kicks in, and the Green Party Candidate there was forced to run as an independent, and there is a second independent. Between the two of them, they may have 7 of the vote. As soon as collins goes below 50 , that 7 could be added to the democratic challengers total, and that would flip that to the democrats and maybe flip the entire senate the democrats. Host so you are supporting others. When it comes to president ial choices, who did you support . Caller im a leftist. Im in the green party. But the greens unfortunately nominated a rightwinger this time, a Climate Science denier and a bigot. , thevoted for jo jorgensen libertarian candidate. We are not allowed to write in here in massachusetts. Jo jorgensen believes in getting the u. S. Off of fossil fuels. She believes in peace and legalizing drugs, and human rights. Host have you always supported thirdparty candidates . Caller no, i was a democrat for a long time. Working withtarted third parties in the 1990s, i remained in the Democratic Party, because i wanted to vote in the primaries and have some say. But after i worked for jill starings campaign for governor, she asked me to join the greens, so i did join the party. But i cannot go with them on this. I could not go with them this year. Host in mississippi, in greenville, we will hear from dale on our line with those who support joe biden. Voter i just wanted to for whoever could say racism is racism and the pandemic is a big thing for me. That is my biggest thing. I think joe biden will do something with the black lives movement that more than donald trump will. Host melissa is next up in North Carolina. In front of the white house, people are gathering, partly to see what is going on as far as the structure that was put up in the last day or so. That structure, that wall, decorated with signs, as you can see. As you look at that, we will hear from melissa in North Carolina, who supports president truman. Go ahead. Caller just sitting here watching all of this going on, with trump, he has done great. He is wonderful. I cannot believe they are not counting his votes the way they should be. Says we have got North Carolina, weve got georgia, and were doing good in pennsylvania, and they are not raising his count up on the map. People need to just realize how much good he has done. Host when it comes to the reason you support him, what is at the top of the list . Caller everything he has done. He is honest. He is straightforward. Host give me a specific accomplishment. Caller jobs, helping out the people that need their money, that want to work. Youve got people out here that dont want to work, that want to lay around and collect all this free money, and i think he is an equal person and he is good for black, white, hispanic, and all. I mean, he does his job right. He is just honest, and people like honesty. Host mark from new mexico on our line for those who support others. Hello. Cspan, fork you, your work in the coverage. Had a question based on my experience with the green party here in new mexico, and also based on the nature of the election. Madeylvania has apparently up its own election rules in a federal election. , ok,ught the jurisdiction for federal elections was the federal election commission. Legalitynderstand the of the actions, you know, as far as the vote counting and what have you. I don
