senator warren: hello, democrats! i am so glad you're here. and let me tell you why. because this is it 2020. it's our chance to make real change. we've had a country that has worked better and better and better for the people at the very top. 2020 is our chance to turn it around and make it work for everyone else! [cheers and applause] i place a big bet on you. it's on what we can do together. now, look, when i first got into this, people told me, the way you have to do this is you got to spend your time, suck it up to the billionaires, the millionaires fund-raising, lobbyists, corporate lobbyists. and i said but that's what's broken about the whole system. the only way we're going to make this better is we use this democratic primary to build a grass roots movement, a grass roots movement that's there for the primary, fair for the general and there to make real change in 2021! and i'm ready for some change! are you ready for some big structural change? [cheers and applause] sen. warren: how about canceling student loan debt for 43 million americans? how about universal childcare for every one of our babies! how about $800 billion plus a huge heaping dose of respect into our public schools! how about an america that works for seniors and social security for everyone and how about an america that is truly an america of equality, an america of equality for lgbtq people, for trans people for people with disabilities. someone told me the other night i need to say this, no matter how you walk or roll, there's got to be a place for you in america. an america where our children don't have to fear getting shot at school. an america where we don't have a president who embarrasses us every day, takes children away from their parents at the border. an america that reflects a good people because that is what we want to be. we want to be a country, a country, not about money, not just about power and privilege but a country in which our people are our most important asset. that's the country we want to be. so we build this one together and here's the thing. i was just thinking about this. we've had three years now of donald trump and mitch mcconnell. you're heard of them. in fact, it was exactly three years ago yesterday that mitch mcconnell tried to throw me off the floor of the united states senate for reading awe -- a letter from coretta scott king to try to block a racist nominee to be attorney general. right? three years. and that's when mitch mcconnell said it, right, said those words. there were a lot of women who put on t-shirts. a lot of embroidered on to pillows. a lot have had tattooed on their body. nevertheless she persisted. [applause] sen. warren:now you're getting ready to knock some doors, do a little democracy. but here's the thing, there's still a lot of folks out there who are really starting to get worried. worried that this fight against donald trump might not be winnable. the way i look at this, i have been winning unwinnable fights pretty much all my life. [cheering] sen. warren: and just to pick a few, in recent history, i'll go after one and that is the fight to have a federal agency to keep people from getting cheated by banks. the fight -- we've got cfpd nerds in here, i can tell. i love nerds. the fight to hold corporate executives accountable. c.e.o. of wells fargo, got him fired! and the fight to take back a senate seat from a popular incumbent republican. got that one done. so here's how i see it. there are a lot of folks who are going to talk about what's not winnable, what can't be done, and definitely about who can't do it. they're going to talk about it right up until we get in that fight, we persist and we win. that is how i will be the first woman president of the united states of america! [cheering] sen. warren: all it takes now is us. we're in this fight together all the way. keep in mind, this is not a fight done by consultants. this is not a fight for advisers. this is a fight from the heart and together we are going to build not an america of the past. we're going to build the america of the future, the one of our best values. i believe in you. [cheers and applause] [chanting] >> hello? thank you all for being here. three days before the first in nation primaries. my name is ellen. i'm one of one of the organizers here in manchester. i'm going to go over a few quick instructions before we go out to hit the doors and then we'll take a group selfie. sen. warren: we would do individual selfies but you need to be knocking those doors so we'll do a group selfie. >> if you need a packet, go to one of our tour captains outside now to grab a packet or a second packet if you already have one. you'll get a map and clipboard there and there are additional trainers to answer questions you have about mini-van or the script. and once you are done, please meet us back at our office which is 540 chestnut street in manchester. does everyone have that? amazing. ok. we're going to do one quick call in response and we'll take a picture. if everyone can repeat after me. i, i am, i am a, i am a warren democrat! i am a warren democrat! i am a warren democrat! i am a warren democrat! let's go!
