It is much larger than the white house. This is a National Movement to retake our country. [applause] i know the left, i know the progressives, were celebrating, opening their bottles of champagne when steve left and when i left. But they have no idea what they did. It is like that penultimate scene in star wars. I am a kid of the 1970s, so i like all that stuff. When darth vader and ben kenobi are dueling on the death star. You remember . And the jedi says if you strike me down now, i will be more powerful than you can ever imagine. That is steve bannon today. [applause] the left has no idea how much more damage we can do to them as private citizens. As people unfettered by being part of the u. S. Government. The thing that struck me is that when the door closed, it was just him, myself, and corey lewandowski. His campaign manager. This man is exactly the same behind closed doors as he is in public. There is no filter. There is no false d. C. Screen. There is no two faces. In d. C. , you see these politicians walk into a room, in front of a camera, it is like a switch gets flipped, and this grimace, this washington smile comes across of them. There is nothing like that in. This man is who he is, unfiltered. What you see is what you get. He does not care what the New York Times thinks about him. He does not care what cnn thinks about him. And rightfully so because those people do not represent america. They just do not represent america. So he is who he is. The thing that made me realize that this is someone we can put our money on, we can bet he can win is that the first thing that was clear to me is that donald j. It is about cuba invading the United States, and a scrappy band of insurgents stand up to fight this juggernaut of communism. That is really what happened on november 8. On november 8, a man who was an it, neverthink about Held Public Office in his life, outsidean outsider wiped the fh establishment candidates. Not only did he defeat his establishment rivals, he then proceeded on the night of november 8 to defeat a woman who had officially spent 700 million on a campaign for a seat she thought was rightfully hers because of her gender and her last name. And he defeated her. [applause] as a result, when we moved into the white house a few months later, january 20, it was a scrappy band of insurgents who that moved into the white house. [applause] as a result, it is not surprising, and nobody should be surprised, that over the next few months, the massive establishment swamp treated us as antibodies and did everything they could to box us out, to fire lowerlevel individualists who were trump loyalists in the security council. Eventually, we realized the writing was on the wall. Steve and myself realized if we believe in november 8, if we really want to support the president , the best way we can do that is from outside the building. C. , Silicon Valley<\/a>, wall street, theyre nervous. Nervous . Why they are they understand you are the transition of the best values of the judeochristian west. [applause] the one thing we proved in alabama, and you guys proved more than anything else is that money does not matter anymore. The days of the internet and the digital era, the internet has helped this intermediate the Mainstream Media<\/a> and the party bosses, and what it has done is make the analog world even more important. Ideas withwith good good people to back him up can beat any amount of money. [applause] here is what is so unbelievable about alabama. They think the good men and women, the sons and daughters of think ofjust like they the workingclass votes and middleclass votes of the country, are a bunch of morons, idiots. They think 30 second tv spots, tens of millions of dollars of 30 second tv spots, can change peoples opinions. It cant. The most powerful thing is an authentic candidate, whether that is donald trump or george moore with people going door to door is we want to vote for. You know who taught us that lesson . Barack obama. You may not like Barack Obamas<\/a> policies. As aay not like him politician, but he knew what he was doing. Rudy giuliani stood on that stage in 2008 to mock and ridiculed him in front of the republican convention. Had that great line. What is a Community Organizer<\/a> . I tell you what it is, somebody who can kick you twice. But the grassroots of the tea party and the evangelical christians and the conservative catholics learned their lesson. You too and go doortodoor. U too entering doorbells can ring doorbells. When you talk about donald trump, judge moore, it means something. In alabama, you folks were able to turn the tables. You took Mitch Mcconnell<\/a>s money, and you took it from his biggest asset to his biggest liability. The more money they spend, the fewer votes they get. [applause] mitch, i dont know if youre watching today. Maybe you have your staff, but i can take a on shakespeare, on capitol hill because i have been getting calls, it is likely for the ides of march, right . The only question is, they are looking to find out who is going to be buddhist to your Julius Caesar<\/a> . Brutus to your Julius Caesar<\/a> . [applause] the donors are not happy. They have left you. We cut your oxygen off, mitch. Money is not courageous, but money is smart. Right now, money is sitting there saying i see these folks worked up. They are mad and mad for a reason. Here is one of the reasons they are mad. Southern poverty law center, why dont you go talk to your corporatist clients that give you the money to run these people down and ask them about the economic hate crimes they have been pulling on the working men and women in the United States<\/a> of america . One you answer for them . Why dont you answer for them . Lets look at the economic crimes. They have gutted this country. You have taken their money, and you call these the people hate crime perpetuaters because they try to put forward the best values of a civilization that has been around for thousands of years . That is a hate crime . We are in the valley of decision. This is a fourth great turning in american history. We have had the revolution, the civil war, the great depression, and world war ii. This is the fourth. We are going to be one thing, is. It is going to take 5, 10, 20, 25 years to go through this. We will be one thing or the other on the other side of it. We will either be the country that was bequeathed from previous generations to you, or we will be something else. In that valley of decision, its not about mark meadows, donald trump, ted cruz, mike lee, and the great leaders of the conservative movement. Vice president pence, steve gorka. The burden is on you. The burden is on your shoulders. On the morning of november 8, i told the president , i got in there in august when he was 16 points down. Double digits in every battleground state. Got t no money. Not a lot of organization. I said, if we pull this thing together, 100 metaphysical certitude you will win. On billy bush saturday, everyone was running for the exit, everyone was jumping ship. Nobody is making justifications for what the president he said, including the president. I told him, 100 metaphysical certitude you will win. Folks are looking for change in this country. They are looking to take their country back, and you are the vehicle and instrument that is going to do it. They dont care about locker room talk. Because we are going to bring to that debate the women that will William Jefferson<\/a> clinton attacked and his wife covered for him. Were going to let the American People<\/a> decide between your words and his action. That is why i am a street fighter. I am about winning. You know why . Because we have to win. This next 15, 20 years, and i would love to tell you we could wave a magic wand, i would love to tell you President Trump<\/a> could snap his fingers and it would be better. But it is not. Every day is going to be a grind. Every day is going to test you. Here is the good news, i know you would not have it any other way. [applause] lets go back to alabama for a second. Since the Associated Press<\/a> called judge moore, i think it was 9 00 at night in montgomery. By roughly 10 points. Earlier in the day, there was a bigger victory. Bob corker. Bob corker. A real piece of work. He called the president , this is a guy who had 6 ,illion in the bank or thereabouts. Chairman of the Senate Foreign<\/a> relations committee, most prestigious on capitol hill. The one he raised the most money on a site for the Banking Committee<\/a> in the state President Trump<\/a> one by some outrageous number. Won by some outrageous number. He did not have an opponent. According to him, President Trump<\/a> disagrees with this, President Trump<\/a> said he would endorsed him. Opponent,stige, no and the endorsement of the president , and he quit. [applause] because he just saw he had called over and talked about the exit polls. What was happening down in alabama. He knew the good men and women in alabama were holding Mitch Mcconnell<\/a> accountable and they would hold bob corker accountable, too. [applause] they have said in the civil war inside the republican party, why are you going after folks like deb fischer and heller who and all these guys that vote the right way . As bob corker has trashed the commanderinchief of our armed forces while we have many women in harms way. He has said he is leading him on a path toward war three, he is not stable, people have to keep him moderated, it is an adult center and they took the morning shift off. By some u. S. Senator in the position of that authority for the first time in history of the republic has mocked and ridiculed the commanderinchief when we have kids in the field. Have i seen barrasso condemned come to a stick and condemn that . Have i seen deb fischer condemn that . Have i seen heller condemned that . You have not. No one can run and hide on this one. These folks are coming for you. No one can run and hide from this. The day of making a few conservative votes and hiding is over. [applause] these folks are not rubes. These folks are not morons. These folks are not idiots. I am an honors graduate of Harvard Business<\/a> school and i worked at goldman sachs. If you ask me if i would rather be governed by the first 100 people who walked into this Conference Today<\/a> or the top 100 partners at goldman sachs, i would take first hundred people every day of the week. [applause] because of the common sense, decency, intelligence, great and grit, and determination would ensure that our country would be safe and prosperous, and so what would the world. Lets look at the elite, and why we positioned Hillary Clinton<\/a> as the guardian or tribune of the a corrupt and incompetent elite. Geniuses set of President Trump<\/a>. This guy is unfit, trump is unfit to be commanderinchief. Look at the voices on President Trump<\/a> in the first couple of months of his administration. You have the bay of pigs in venezuela, the cuban missile crisis in korea, vietnam, and afghanistan. That is not his doing. That is what all of these geniuses have been doing the last 20 or 30 years. This is the same crowd that said we just let china have most favorite nations and let them in the wto, they will get wealthier and they will be free market capitalism. That played out well. China has been a confusion mercantilist society for 400 years. They know what they are doing. They are running the tables on us. They are at full economic war with us. Do not listen to me. Look at economist. Read the studies coming out of m. I. T. And harvard that says there is a direct correlation between the factories and jobs that leave for china and the opioid crisis. This populist nationalist, conservative revolt that is going on that drove donald trump to victory, judge moore to victory, and will drive us to 15 candidates to victory in 2018, and i hate to break the news to grading carter and the good folks of vanity fair, but yes, President Trump<\/a> is going to win with 400 electoral votes in 2020. [applause] why is this a populist revolt . Real simple. You guys have more common sense, more understanding of what we need to do, more decency that n the elites. The first order of business is to undo all of the damage of globalism that allowed Silicon Valley<\/a> and wall street and hollywood and the Imperial Capital<\/a> here in washington, d. C. , and london and beijing and davos. To undo globalism. The reason we did populism is there are bigger, more crucial decisions coming down the road in the next 10 or 20 years, the convergence of biotechnology, artificial intelligence, the computerchip. There will be decisions in front of mankind in the next 20 years that man has never had to face before. If you think that the elites that got the world into the situation it is today are going to make the right judgments 20 years from now, you are mistaken. It is folks like you that have to tell folks this is not a science experiment, this is not an engineering exercise, you are free men and women in the greatest republic in the history of earth. [applause] why are we nationalists . Hno nationalism. It is economic nationalism. It doesnt matter your ethnicity, your gender, your religion, your sexual preference, it does not matter. It does not matter. As long as you are a citizen of this republic, that is what matters. [applause] economic nationalism binds us together. Economic nationalism and understanding we will bring jobs back, it is not the second law of thermodynamics why they left. There is no inexorable law that took the jobs to asia and those factories to asia and left us with gutted communities of opioid addicts. That was human agency, decisions of men and women that did that. And it was decisions of men and women that will bring the factories back and bring the jobs back. [applause] the smart folks on the democratic party, and trusted me there are smart folks there, they understand that. They had their conference a couple of weeks ago, no identity politics. They brought in the mad bomber, he will destroy his enemies on the way down is what they said. What you saw was a highly disciplined campaign run on populism and the rule of law. Hillary came out, she was on the beat raising money, they were running for corners offense. She came out after about a week, and i was sitting in the war room. We had the tv sets and the men and women working on rapid response. She had not given a speech in a month. It was white supremacists, bannon, altright. I sat there, and i go if that is what she is going to bring, we will run the tables on her. [applause] one thing about economic nationalism, and by the way, i understand all of us do not agree on everything. There are plenty of folks for aei and heritage that we have to convert. [laughter] they dont agree that free trade is a radical idea. That no vibrant nation has ever really agreed with that. The chinese certainly dont, the japanese dont, the koreans dont. Thats why they have the manufacturing jobs, by the way. Economic nationalism, one of the parts of it it is the centerpiece of the value voters. For too long, this school of economics head of thinking that everything is about the economy. You have to look at the jobless rate six weeks before the election because that will determine who wins. Everything is about Gross Domestic Product<\/a> and the rate of growth and unemployment rate. All of those statistics are very important. That is not it at all. We are a Civic Society<\/a> and a culture that has a capitalist free market system as our economy. But we are not an economy. You are not just units of production. You are free men and women in a Civic Society<\/a> underpinned by a capitalist system, but where other people in the world dont practice capitalism, we have to be savvier than that. We have to be smarter. We will be. President trump has seen to that. His trade agenda. That is what won Us Pennsylvania<\/a> and michigan and iowa and almost won minnesota. Thats how you are going to win 400 electoral votes. The mike ross understand this. Democrats understand this. They understand they have to come back with an economic program, it will be trump light. President trump has had these ideas for 30 or 40 years. He did not come to the party late. Let me tell you about President Trump<\/a> because i have the honor of seeing him up close. This is a guy with billions of dollars, i dont know if it is 4, 5, 7, 10. At some point, you have to quit counting. Right . A beautiful wife, tremendous kids, great grandkids, a loving family. The friends he has are unbelievable. You see the friends and the love they have for him, somebody who has hung out with him for decades. These people love him. He has business with the finest hotels in the world. He was buying not just golf courses, but buying championship made evenes that he better and put them in the british open, the u. S. Open. Things that could be like as his legacies for him. He did not do this for any kind of ego gratification, is let me tell you, to understand how they try to destroy him and how tough it is every day when they come after you. And they come after your family and kids and friends. They come after your business. They were not there to debate donald trump. Hillary clinton just did a 900 page book. She is going around the country , and she still cannot tell anybody why she should be president of the United States<\/a>. [laughter] she can whine about all the bad things she thinks happen to her but she cannot make a convincing case of why she should be president. She cannot take on Donald Trumps<\/a> ideas. They wanted to use the 2 billion just to destroy him. On the morning of the ninth, i think we won at 3 00 in the morning, that coalition with Reince Priebus<\/a> and the rnc, we won. As i always knew we would. But the key that picked the lock in North Carolina<\/a>, florida, pennsylvania, ohio, iowa, michigan, and wisconsin was you. [applause] ask tony perkins, he has the numbers, he will walk you through. Evangelical christians and conservatives catholics is the those key districts, that is the difference in victory. [applause] i was most nervous about North Carolina<\/a>. It was not the weekend before but the weekend before that, i was in North Carolina<\/a> with the president , and mark meadows came up to me and said, we got this. I said, i dont know. He said, we got this. The evangelicals are going doortodoor, getting the vote out. Conservative catholics going doortodoor. The hobbits are going doortodoor in the shire. They are getting everybody out. That is why they fear you. Trust me, they know all of the math. They know what you did in alabama. On november 9, i will tell you one thing. I was the ceo of it. We were a little bit island of misfit toys. It only came together and 88 in 88 days. I will tell you, and i had a conversation with Jeff Sessions<\/a> one time when he was under the most pressure at doj, i said, is there any doubt in your mind that the hand of providence was critical to our victory . He said, absolutely. Divine providence worked that victory just like Divine Providence<\/a> worked for judge moore. [applause] the hand of providence does not work through some sort of magic or voodoo. It is through human agency, and that is you. Were going to have a lot of these conversations and a lot of fights ahead. Right . The first one is, before we can get to the progressive democrats and southern poverty law center, and all of these folks we have to take on, and we will take them on and stand them down, ok . [applause] there is no doubt about that. There is no doubt about that. But there is a time and season for everything. Right now, it is a season of war against a gop establishment. [applause] it is no longer acceptable to come and pat you on the head and tell you everything will be fine, just get these guys in office. Those days are over. We need to move with urgency. The president of the United States<\/a> deserves the respect and there support. Their support. [applause] of all of the insults that senator corker threw at the commanderinchief during a time of war, the worst thing was someone at the Washington Post<\/a> and someone from the New York Times<\/a>, they buried the lede, about 20 paragraphs down. Corker said he gave up the game. He said there are only one or , two senators who have respect or admiration for President Trump<\/a>. The rest of them talk like i do behind closed doors. All of you folks that are so concerned you are going to get defeated in primaries, there is a time for mea culpa. You can come to a stick and condemn senator corker. You can come to a microphone and say, i am not going to vote for Mitch Mcconnell<\/a> for majority leader. [applause] and you can come to a stick and say, im going to do away with the filibuster so the president can implement his program. [applause] sen. Barrasso, senator fisher and heller and hatch, these are good folks, they may reconsider. Until that time, they are coming for you. [applause] i have gone over my allotted time, so i will wrap up in the second. [applause] you sound like my colleagues in the white house. Not. I am going to come out and give you a hug. The last thing. The president needs our support more than ever. Look at what happened, and here is what happens when the president knows he has your support. Lets have a part of this discussion, the president had some Bad Information<\/a> and advice bad advice given to him and had some folks, the kind of things that were not so. I told him what was going to happen in alabama and where i was going to stand. Lets look at what has happened since alabama. A 70 Point Program<\/a> for daca, including 20 deal killers. Just to make sure that nancy pelosi got the joke, no pathway to citizenship. The next thing, you have the religious liberty eo that was got it back in may. Surprise, surprise, surprise. A 25 page memo from attorney general sessions. Everything turned around. Number two. Got out of unesco. Number three. Yes. The treasury secretary said there will be a middleclass tax cut, and it will be for workingclass people, i given to you. Then you have obamacare, they are going to blow the exchanges up. [applause] and lo and behold, were going to decertify and get out of the iran deal and navy ig rc igrc a terrorist organization. Those are not random events. That is victory begets victory. [applause] we owe that to judge moore and the good men and women in alabama because that all came from them. [applause] every day is like Christmas Day<\/a> now. I cannot wait to get up, there will be a new package. This is what we always wanted. Next week i think they are going to announce the Muslim Brotherhood<\/a> a terrorist organization and moves the embassy to jerusalem. Thats right, Mitch Mcconnell<\/a> is is working triple time on getting judges approved. Funny how that works. Victory begets victory. It is simple. We keep winning and good things will keep happening. We keep winning, your country will be safe. We keep winning, and you folks, you, will be the folks that saved the judeochristian west. We dont have anything to offer you except a lot of work. We will lose some, there will not be all victories. It will take a long time. It is not anyone election, this is not november 9 or september 26, it has to be every day. But if you folks dont do it, and the people your proxies for, your organizations, it is not going to happen, we will lose this. But i can guarantee you one thing. There are good men and women out there thats all the lesson of judge moore and donald trump, because the lesson that the Opposition Party<\/a> and the permanent Political Class<\/a> tried to say that if you stand up, you will be destroyed. If you go against what they stand for, you will be destroyed. But folks out there know, if you have their back, you are the key that picks the lock. There is a chinese philosopher, philosopher, lao tzu, i think 2000 years ago, that the leader is best when the main objectives are achieved, the people themselves say look at what we accomplished. That means it is all on you. It is not donald trump, mark meadows, ted cruz, Laura Ingraham<\/a> or steve bannon, it is you. Tonight when you pray for your country and the servicemen and President Trump<\/a> and his family, say a prayer for yourselves. Because 100 years from now, they will look back and hold you accountable for what you did in the next five, 10, 15, 20 years. If we stick together and show the same tenacity, grit, and courage as you showed in alabama, we will win and they are going to lose. Thank you. How about that . Things can be depressing if you follow politics. I am of the view that we all need to have fun while we are in this battle for america. It is fun to win. It is fun to win. It is a great joy to be able to spend a little time with you today. I was thinking about the poor democrats. Everybody is talking about donald trump and the divided party. The poor democrats. They are having a dickens of a time doing fundraising. They are trying to incentivize donors. For 25, you get this frisbee thing that is sent to you in the mail. For 100, you get a lifetime subscription to mother jones. I think that is going out of business, but you still get the subscription. They need more bundlers. If you are aggressive about it, the dnc has announced they will send you a terry cloth robe that opens easily in the front. All the roads have h. W. As the initials for the monogram. I think we have to laugh. They always say we are judged by the company we keep. That is a pretty good line. That is a pretty good rule of thumb. I think we should judge ourselves on enemies we make. Think about the republicans who supported donald trump and continue to support his agenda that i outline in my new book. It is a nationalist agenda. It is america first, policies at work for the people. Think about it. If you are for donald trump and for that agenda, you are enemies of the following they have declared war on you. Antifa, the fascist group, the nfl anthen squatters thing . Kneeling a bad maybe they just like the anthem a lot. Most of the press corps, most of the Entertainment Industry<\/a> because we know they are the moral arbiters of our time. The democrat machine, still run by the Previous Administration<\/a> and lets not forget the never trump the globalist gop and consultancy class. On capitol hill, all those senators, who if their primaries were held today in their home state, they would be sent packing. Speaking of, there is some good news out there. There is great news. This is New York Times<\/a> finally speaking of the weinstein mess in hollywood. There is finally a new law firm has formed to represent women who have been abused and subjugated in the workplace. And it just formed and will be a big deal. It is called clinton, weiner, spitzer weinstein. It has a nice ring to it. Lets not forget how conservative women have been dismissed and demeaned and reviled by all the right people, all the right adversaries. Perhaps, Hillary Clinton<\/a>, obama, who said we voted for voted for trump because we do what we are told to do. What about all those workshops and all those seminars that hillary and michelle convened about girl power and girls first . Doesnt matter what your views are. I was thinking maybe hillary should rename her book tour called i am woman, hear me more. They were never for women of different political viewpoints. They are for you women if you agree with them, liberals. If you are a woman who truly thinks for herself and is not cowed or frightened, you do not deserve protection. They do not really care about you, and they will ridicule you, usually in front of a University Setting<\/a> or in some general session of left wing malcontent. I titled my new book billionaire at the barricades for a reason. Donald trump has a lot of walls to clear and one wall to build. He has the old gop guard that never wanted him to succeed. He has an Entertainment Industry<\/a> that really should be sending him residuals because they cannot write a joke that does not include his name. He is up against the democrat machine that is fueled by groups like the American Association<\/a> of trial lawyers, planned parenthood, and every other left wing Interest Group<\/a> you can think of. He is against the bipartisan cabal that has gotten fat and happy off the old way. They became very comfortable and comfortable in a washington that did not represent the people. The people are on to them. The American People<\/a>, whether in this moment they like donald trump or not, the American People<\/a> are really smart. That is the reason i describe myself as a conservative populist. I would rather trust the people to run their lives rather than a farflung bureaucracy at the World Trade Organization<\/a> or the u. N. Or some Government Agency<\/a> that will never be accountable to you. I trust the American People<\/a>. The Government Works<\/a> for them, not the other way around. The government is not enslaving the people. The government are supposed to be the servant of the people. People ask me about the risk in the republican party. I explain this from my days as a young 22yearold working for the Reagan Administration<\/a> and how he inspired my generation and so many who came after, all the way up until we gave eric cantor a twobyfour across the electoral face in 2014. I explain how donald trump did not win because of comey or because hillary was a bad candidate. He did not win because he was a celebrity or selffunded. He won because he was unafraid to hold up a mirror to the failures of the bipartisan establishment that they had been demanding that they do. That is why he won. He won because of the issues. Who voted for open borders . Who voted to deindustrialize the west . Who voted to completely upend the understanding of gender in the United States<\/a> . None of us voted for this. That is what we did because we tended to give people the benefit of the doubt. Like lucy and the football, we became Charlie Brown<\/a> election cycle after election cycle until we could not take it anymore. Our back was about to break. We saw the country was about to be lost forever. Donald trump understood that uniquely, and he followed in the line of others who came before, going all the way back to Richard Nixon<\/a> and believing that we had to listen to the silent majority, to law and order, all the way up to Ronald Reagan<\/a> surprising gop establishment i by almost winning the nomination and been coming along like a hurricane in 1980 and hurricane in 1980 and blowing past the bushes and everyone who ridiculed him, demeaned him, and said he was just an actor. He shook up the country, brought us back from the brink, helped to shape the soviet union, and he set a blueprint, a conservative, oftentimes populist blueprint. In the book i describe what happened in 1980. As reagan was leaving office, this divide was not created by donald trump. This divide had been there. 1988, as reagan was leaving office, a lot of us were going on to do other things. Some of my colleagues wanted to stay to help the bush administration. They did not know that slowly but surely the reagan people would be purged from the ranks. Why would they be purged . I describe a particular incident and doj that is disturbing. Because philosophically, reagan was on a different plane than george h. W. Bush. He respected him and picked him as his Vice President<\/a> , but reagan uniquely understood the heart and soul of the american working class. He understood that without social conservatives and defense hawks and libertarians and populists altogether, the coalition would crumble. Indeed, we saw it beginning to crumble in 1992. Who came along then . Pitchfork pat buchanan. Warning that if we had open borders and trade agreements that did not benefit the american working class, that the american understanding would itself be endangered. It did not work for them, their kids. They were being treated as the enemies of the government. Pat buchanan was not successful, but lets not forget whether it was him or ross perot. Boy, did they garner a lot of support and did they set the stage for what would come all those years later with. Even george w. Bush ran on a humble platform. That was welcome news to the voters of the time. In 1988, the Cato Institute<\/a> wrote a long letter criticizing Ronald Reagan<\/a>. I like a lot of the people at cato, but they branded reagan as knownothing protectionist on trade. Why . Reagan thought it was worthwhile to say that American Company<\/a> called harley davidson. He thought it was well within our rights in protecting our people and businesses to slap a 45 temporary tariffs on cheap japanese motorcycles that came into the United States<\/a>. We have one of the most successful American Companies<\/a> still in business today. That was wildly popular. It was a populist Ronald Reagan<\/a>. Since when is it bad to be a protectionist . You are conserving something. Republican president s throughout our history understood there would be certain times where temporary tariffs are necessary to level the Playing Field<\/a> in an international marketplace. It makes sense, when our companies are being hammered with tariffs and barriers, we let everyone come here with nary a peep. The mood of the gop was very antitariff. Reagan said it didnt have to be that way. Today, all these years later, what is donald trump doing .
