Share Updated: 2:38 PM EDT May 23, 2021 To commemorate their 25th anniversary, a new day is dawning at Crossroads Church.Growing from a school auditorium to multiple campuses, the church has been spreading its message with fellowship music and cups of coffee.Erin Caproni recounts the growth of the church.“Crossroads was started in 1996 at the old People’s Middle School and moved into the Oakley building that people are probably familiar with in Greater Cincinnati in 2001," Caproni said.As this 25th anniversary dawns, the direction forward Senior Pastor Brian Tome says is following a unifying vision of giving. “We’re so thankful to the city, we’re so grateful for all the nonprofits that are in the city so as a result of our 25th anniversary we are going to put a little dot in between 2 and 5, giving 2.5 million dollars in the next 25 weeks,” Tome said. Over the next six months, the church will share $2.5 million of its operational fund with community partners both at home and worldwide. Tome says the decision was easy. “God’s made a difference in us, and we want to make a difference in our communities. That’s just what we want to do," he said.He says service agencies as far as India and Haiti, as well as local nonprofits, will be awarded the funds each week.“City Gospel Mission will receive $100,000 dollars and then we are going to be unveiling what organizations we are going to bless over the next 25 weeks," Tome said. When asked about the next 25 years, Tome marvels at the growth the congregation has experienced. “My goal is to enjoy life and serve God diligently and make aggressive moves as a church to bless our city," he said.
