Tickets: $25 ($15 students, $20 seniors) from tickets. ccpacanada.com/ Why: Eight livestream performances of Urinetown by the students at the Canadian College of Performing Arts are included in this year-end showcase, which puts to bed another challenging year for the Oak Bay performing arts school. The Broadway favourite is the perfect way to kiss off the pandemic’s hold on in-person performances, as the celebrated musical/black comedy takes its share of shots at civil liberties, personal freedom and government malfeasance — or lackthereof. With direction by Naomi Costain, Michael Doherty and Caleb Marshall, the CCPA production (which comes with a content-advisory warning for mature content) will be spread over two weekends and features two separate 23-person casts, ingredients that should send many of these students off with a bang.
