Two children’s books are being recommended for exclusion from Carroll County public schools’ prekindergarten and kindergarten family life curriculum. The school board will act on the recommendation during their Wednesday meeting. The county school system’s Family Life Advisory Committee voted earlier this year to not recommend “The Family Book,” by Todd Parr, and “The Great Big Book of Families,” by Mary Hoffman, for the family life and sexual education curriculum that is mandated by the state, according to the committee’s annual report.
