After receiving complaints from residents concerning undelivered property tax bills and delayed payment processing, Franklin County Treasurer Cheryl Brooks Sullivan has urged taxpayers to be patient as the agency surveys weeks-old conveyances, calls and payments. Spokesman Bob Vitale said there's currently a six-to-eight-week delay in processing. And while there's always a lag between the time payments come in and are entered each year, this year looks a lot different, he said. This year, some former property owners have received tax bills after selling their property, while others have been wrongfully charged with tax penalties and have yet to receive payment confirmations.
