By Kevin Zimmermann May 7, 2021 | 3:50 PM The âBurden Rateâ of COVID-19 activity in Sheboygan County has fallen below âHighâ for the first time this year according to Fridayâs update from the Division of Public Health, with a reading of 94.3 cases per 100,000 persons.  Although this indicates an easing of the pandemic, the activity level remains âHighâ, with no significant change in the current trajectory of the pandemic. Still, the active case count rose three to 125, with 16 new confirmed positives weighted against 13 recoveries.  One more resident entered hospitalization for the disease, raising the patient count here to 4. The Facility-Wide Investigations report has been simplified, and now lists only those Skilled Nursing Long-term Care Facilities with active investigations, which currently number zero, and the Education Settings, which include Oostburg Elementary School, Sheboygan North High, Sheboygan South High, and Sheboygan Christian School.
