County Board committee offers alternative redistricting map

EDWARDSVILLE — Madison County’s Government Relations Committee has filed a second proposed redistricting map for Madison County Board seats that would retain the current number of members.
This comes the day after Madison Board Chairman Kurt Prenzler unveiled a proposal that would reduce the number of board seats to 25 from the current 29.
“The proposed map has support from both Republicans and Democrats serving on the county board,” said Government Relations Committee Chairman Chris Guy, R-Maryville. “Now the most important part is for the public to provide input on the proposed fair map.”
