Country focus: Coal phase out and gas hub ambitions fuel Gre

Plans for a second LNG import terminal in Greece are well advanced, with the aim of supplying gas to the wider region. The increased availability of gas in the country, from multiple sources, are making possible the early replacement of coal-fired generation with cleaner burning gas, a motivation which is also driving gas demand and pipeline investment in neighbouring countries.
