As per NMC data, the city has 441 ventilators including 170 in 10 public and trust-run hospitals (Representative image) Nagpur: Wednesday morning the city private hospitals were left without a ventilator bed and just 27 ICU beds amid rise in number of critical patients and frantic search by citizens for their loved ones who are battling for life. This situation was no better in the evening as no ventilator bed was available except three at GMCH. Doctors at both medical colleges said five to 10 Covid patients in every ward are now on non-invasive ventilators but they are helpless due to the paucity of ICU and ventilator beds. There are at least 12 wards having oxygenated, high dependency units and ICU beds in both GMCH and IGGMCH.
