A TOWN council is continuing to support a national campaign to raise awareness of domestic violence against women. The Leader previously reported that Connah’s Quay town council pledged to support the White Ribbon UK Campaign which aims to end domestic violence against women. At their monthly meeting the council was given an update and councillors were asked to adopt the action plan. White Ribbon UK was founded in 2005 and is part of a global movement aiming to end male violence against women by challenging male attitudes and behaviours. Back in 2029, Cllr Nathan Jones, who is also a White Ribbon Ambassador, put forward the motion at the monthly meeting as to why they the council should become the first in the country to join the campaign.
