NEW DELHI: The Congress-AIUDF alliance in Assam has reportedly shifted some of its candidates to Jaipur as a "precautionary measure." "Several AIUDF candidates for Assam Assembly polls shifted to Jaipur today. A few more Congress candidates will also be shifted to Jaipur shortly, arrangements made at Fairmount Hotel," ANI reported quoting its sources in the Congress. "It's a precautionary measure taken up by the Mahajot alliance," they further said. The Mahajot alliance's decision to shift the candidates comes within days of Congress-ally Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) candidate from Tamulpur, Rangja Khungur Basumatary, joining the BJP ahead of the third phase of poll in Assam.
