Ranchi: Former Congress MP and chairperson of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangahthan Minakshi Natrajan on Friday said her wing was in favour of holding the panchayat elections in the state on time. Speaking to mediapersons after a day-long conference on panchayati raj, Natrajan said her wing has been raising the issue on various occasions. Natrajan said that state president of the party and minister Rameshwar Oroan has assured that the state government will make all efforts for timely elections to the local bodies. She said that the Centre has tried to weaken the gram sabhas by transferring their powers to the department and these forces are also responsible for bringing in the black laws in the farming sector.
