16 th April 2021 11:23 am The competition watchdog still has concerns about platform technology provider FNZ’s purchase of GBST after relooking at evidence in relation to the deal. In the latest turn of the long and winding saga, the Competition and Markets Authority has returned to the view that the transaction “would raise significant competition concerns”. The CMA has been reassessing its decision to block the merger after FNZ launched an appeal with the Competition Appeal Tribunal. Since the CMA launched its initial investigation, FNZ has continued to defend its position and argues that it and GBST “do very different things”.
