He hoped the competition would create a sense of community and reignite the art of home produce. “We’re hoping people, when they’re growing produce, when they have excess amounts they preserve it.’’ Black said his involvement in A and P associations meant he had a keen interest in industry, and he was looking forward to seeing what people had produced in their home kitchens.
