Austin nonprofit organization Mobile Loaves & Fishes will break ground in summer 2022 on two new phases of its Community First Village that are expected to nearly quadruple the number of homes in this neighborhood designed to house people who have been chronically homeless. The next two phases will add 1,400 homes to the more than 500 homes in the first two phases. The third phase will be built on 51 acres of land across the street from the original 51 acres on Hog Eye Road in East Austin. The fourth phase will add 76 acres on a new area of land off Burleson Road between U.S. 183 and McKinney Falls Parkway in Southeast Austin and is on a bus route.
