The Chief Deputy of the Onslow County Sheriff's Office, Colonel Chris Thomas, Is looking to move up one rank in the department after announcing his candidacy for Sheriff.
According to a release from his campaign, Colonel Thomas has served in law enforcement for over 34 years, beginning in 1986 after graduating Basic Law Enforcement Training at Coastal Carolina Community College. Colonel Thomas is a United States Army veteran serving his country from 1983 to 1986 with an honorable discharge as a Specialist 4th Class. (Full biography is attached to this release.)
Colonel Thomas believes that as Onslow County continues to grow, the citizens of the county deserve experienced leadership and service to lead the sheriff’s office. He has dedicated his life to the service of his country and community. Colonel Thomas was born in Onslow County, and is a resident of the Richlands area. His local roots run deep and help him to understand and relate to the unique needs of the citizens of Onslow County.
