The Emergency Warming Center opened its doors on Saturday, February 6 as temperatures started to nosedive after a relatively mild winter up to that point. The original plan was to open the center for five days but the weather dictated that it stay open longer. Melissa Austin from the Coach Eby Center said they were open for 10 full days and averaged 10 guests per night.
