Obviously this is all reached a Fever Pitch<\/a> at a time when the biden administration has been working feverishly Behind The Scenes<\/a> to advance ceasefire proposals, both for war in gaza, as well as the escalating situation in lebanon. And those efforts have continued to remain elusive. So now as we await concurrent briefings from the pentagon, the State Department<\/a> and the White House<\/a>. There is still a very large question of how the administration can move forward with its diplomatic efforts at a time when it appears that its its potency with the israeli government and the advice that its been trying to get Behind The Scenes<\/a> has fallen on deaf ears. So i find it significant that the iranians have targeted that base. But i can tell you it is an important and a very significant base for the israeli Air Force<\/a> and i think when we consider as well what triggered iran to launch this attack, now we dont know, but it is less than 24 hours ago that israel changed its tactics against hezbollah and decided to go on a Ground Offensive<\/a> into lebanon. One of the reasons i say this is because the impression that iran has created by not backing up hezbollah more forcefully until now, while their leadership has been decimated, there are Command And Control<\/a> has been detonated. Now the question is, is the fact that they havent fired some of their longer, heavier weaponry. Is it because of the elimination of the Military Command<\/a> or is it because theyre holding it . In reserve in the event there is a full on invasion of Southern Lebanon<\/a>. And certainly we are getting indications from, for instance, warnings for on twitter from the arabic spokesman for the israeli military about peak telling people essentially to go Tens Of Kilometers<\/a> north away from Southern Lebanon<\/a>. The indications are, they may well be a fullon israeli invasion of the south in which case is theres a much higher probability that hezbollah which already feels crippled and cornered may unleash its heaviest weapons yet, wolf and some of those heaviest weapons potentially could reach not only haifa in Northern Israel<\/a>, but even Tel Aviv<\/a> and perhaps even further south in israel, when the israelis have all, weve been very, very worried about that possibility. But israel can reach most of iran, i think, and or you could strike at the Oil Export<\/a> terminals in iran and try to cut off their flow of oil or exports and cut off their flow of any foreign currency that theyre getting. So those are two options, or you could stand by and you can count on the united states and its policy of whats dont escalate and hope that this is the End David<\/a> but my guess is the political pressures inside israel are going to demand a response even though as Anthony Blinken<\/a> just said the attack was defeated, it was blunted, but it was still an attack. And if somethings not done, itll come back again stronger at a later time, perhaps with something Nuclear Weapon<\/a>s, if, if somethings not done. So my guess is, israel has to respond i just want to interrupt for a moment general, we heard tony blinken, the secretary of state, say that israel, as you correctly pointed out, a defeated the attack with the active support of the united states and others for partners, how significant is that the secretary of state is saying that the u. S and other partners helped israel in defeating this iranian ballistic Missile Attack<\/a> i think, its significant in that we have asked judge and other countries in the region that we have patriot batteries and these other countries that could have gone after these missiles when they passed overhead and we always want to work with our allies. So i think thats significant, that Surgery Blinken<\/a> is given credit without naming him to our other partners in the region. But at this time, and i stress at this time we do not know of any deaths in israel. We are tracking the reported death of a palestinian civilian in jericho in the West Bank<\/a> we do not know of any damage which two aircraft or strategic Military Assets<\/a> in israel. In short, based on what we know at this point this attack appears to have been defeated effective. This was first and foremost the result of the professionalism of the idf. But in no small part because of the skilled work of the u. S. Military and meticulous joint planning in anticipation of the attack were also aware of reports of a Terrorist Attack<\/a> in jaffa that took the lives of a number of israeli civilians and wounded several Others Today<\/a> our condolences go out to the families of the victims and to the family of the palestinian civilian in jericho obviously, my update here is based don early reports and we reserve the right to amend an adjust as necessary as we gather more information.
