Brand new polling this morning shows Donald Trump narrowly ahead in three critical Battleground States, arizona, georgia, and North Carolina. This after polls last we that show the opposite, harris narrowly ahead in pennsylvania, michigan, and wisconsin the new polling from the New York Times and Siena College shows that trump has a Fivepoint Lead eight in arizona in georgia, and North Carolina. It is within the margin of error in North Carolina where it is closest. Obviously, amid this robinson drama, we saw Donald Trump there over the weekend where he did not mention Robinson Or Anything involving that . Again, notable in itself, given that all of the past its rallies weve really seen Donald Trump do in North Carolina. He has had robinson, theyre so the one thing i just want you to keep in mind when it comes to North Carolina, is that when i talk to Donald Trumps team and many of his allies, they note that robinson was already not doing so great in his own governors race, but the stakes are very high for Donald Trump because this is a state were harris is really competing and shes been to north kara several times. North carolina several times. Shes continuing to try to make a push there so well see what happens. One thing i want to go back to in these polls though, is that even though theyre showing right now, this is good news for Donald Trump about 15 of the electorate in arizona, georgia, and North Carolina karolina said that they are still undecided. So that means that essentially these states are still up for grabs, even though, you know, we are, weve already entered this phase where we are beginning to see early voting in several states. There is still enough time for people to change their minds so keep that in mind, but i think overall the bottom line, when i look at this poll is that its kind of been the same for the last several months now, which is that this nation is still sharply divided and this is going to be one of the tightest elections in recent history. And so a lot at stake, which is 43 days to go. Yeah, the close selection, we have seen at least at this stage, were talking about 20 20, 40, i guess weve got some news about 20 28 we do we actually heard Donald Trumps say publicly for i believe this is the first time that he would not run in 2028 if he were to lose this november. I wanted to take a listen to what he said if youre not successful, this time, do you see yourself running again in four years no, i dont know. I dont i think that that will be that will be it. I dont see that at all. I think hopefully hello, were going to be successful now actually found this really interesting, john, because we very rarely hear donald Trump Talk about what would come after this election. But to my up to another point, i will say that this lines up with what i hear from Donald Trumps team that this is really Donald Trumps last stand. But the opposite in the sunbelt, how is it these two seem to be moving in opposite directions . Listen, i think polls, this is the one thing ill agree with the other panelists is that polls show a trend, but its not the full picture as someone who has been on for president ial campaigns. Polls arent everything. It is. What happens on Election Day and early voting. Were talking about a Knife Fight in a Phone Booth and what could be three or four or five Battleground States between the north and the south. One of the closest state in this recent batch was North Carolina, was showed a two point spread. Most of it was taken before this while scandal involving Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina, Mark Robinson. This is what his opponent says about it and how it might impact Donald Trump in the election. Hes trying to help it happen and how effective do you think it will be less than i think it will be extremely effective as you continue to tie these horrible candidates to Donald Trump. He was not only campaigning with him, Mark Robinson actually had a position at the rnc, and so it is actually appropriate to tie these candidates but their leader Donald Trump, because this is the republican party and we want to be very clear that its not just Donald Trump. That is the danger to our Human Rights and our civil rights. It is also these candidates down ballot, including this gubernatorial candidates, particularly on an issue when it comes to raise, when it comes to gender, which are issues that voters are thinking about. As they go into the Ballot Box and in North Carolina, if Mark Robinson doesnt do that well, it actually will continue to hurt Donald Trump. And that means North Carolina is not out of the game. So even the gop is distancing themselves from him Candidate Quality does affect the entire race but this one at least it seems like theyre trying to make it not well, as i wanted my obsessions is with 43 days left and yes, Vice President harris has agreed to a cnn debate, but Donald Trump hasnt. And im not sure he will what events are there that can change and the New York Times pull some 15 , say theyre undecided or not yet decided. But what things are there left that could change their minds . Lets then i think we still have 47 days. I know you mentioned earlier that the polls hadnt been this play this close unprecedent. We are actually in an unprecedented election right now, right . This has never happened in our political cycle in modern history that It Candidates steps down and then his Vice President it has a little over 100 days, you continue to communicate to the american people. Theres a lot that can happen in these 40 some days. There could be an october surprise, there could be something that makes the american people pay attention. Voters are paying attention with the Vice President s debate coming up soon and whether or not Donald Trump accepts the debate with Vice President harris. All right ahead, major questions surrounding the new interim new York Police commissioner after the fbi executed a Search Warrant at his Homes Thomas Donlon took over the job more than a week ago because the Nypd Commissioner resigned after the fbi seized his electronic devices. Cnns Gloria Pazmino is joining me now. What do you know about this particular search yes. Are we are still trying to learn more about the reasons why federal investigators to talk the remarkable step of searching the homes of Tom Donlon on friday. But heres what we do. You know, our Law Enforcement sources tell us that this Search Warrant is a related to a parent documents that dorlin might have held on to from his previous fbi and Law Enforcement jobs. They also tell us that this latest a Search Warrant for the Police Commissioner is not related to any of the other for federal investigations that are currently ensnaring City Hall. Now dahlin issued a statement after the Search Warrant was executed at his home, and i want to just show you a portion of it because she says that federal authoritthorities took materials that came into my possession approximately 20 years ago and are unrelated to my work with the new york Police Department. Now, that Distinction Sara is really important and the reason hes trying to draw a distinction there is because the nypd is already under federal investigation. As you noted, the previous commissioner had to resign after his electronic devices were confiscating, confiscated. So hes trying to draw that distinction. Now, Tom Donlon has had a long career in Law Enforcement including as Special Agent in the fbi. He was he ran the fbi national Threat Center and he worked with the nypd joint Terrorism Task Force here, new york city. He was also in charge of new Yorks Homeland Security office so the question is, did donilon come into into contact with some sort of documents during that time that federal authorities are now trying to get back sara so many unanswered questions. What is a City Hall saying about the situation with the new interim commissioner well, theyve said so far, sara, that they expect all their employees to follow the law, but this is certainly not something that City Hall wants to be dealing with right now. Theyve had to answer several questions for several weeks.
