They will attempt to make history with the first ever commercial spacewalk. Kristin fisher joins us now. Kristen, i mean, this is a pretty remarkable in that. I mean, i would have thought by now, we would have had a spacewalk of that kind, but no, those have all been nasa. So this is important. Yes, its one thing to go to space. Its another thing to do a spacewalk to venture youre out from the safety of your spacecraft, go into the vacuum of space thats why, as you say, only Nasa Astronauts<\/a>, professional government astronauts have done it. This mission going to change all of that on day three. This is just Day One<\/a>, and the big thing here is spacex testing out these brandnew spacesuits that theyve developed under twoandahalf years to put that, i was there cool. Somebody was on our air earlier saying they looked like like djs and they kind of do with the Gold Helmet<\/a> and the visor. Jim actually has a screen like a Display Screen<\/a> in it. So its very futuristic when you compare it to you put the screen down and then you see like Computer Stuff<\/a> and what stuff on your screen thats cool. And so you compare that to what Nasa Astronauts<\/a> were using up at the international space station. And those spacesuits are 40yearsold. Theyve been trying to get new ones for 20 years. So why is this important . Its because a future generation of future iteration of these spacesuits are ones that spacex wants to use to someday land on mars. And so this mission is all about testing that space suit. And actually doing a spacewalk on a Dragon Capsule<\/a> or outside of a dragon, nobodys ever done that before and the other thing were going to see is the spacecraft open up the whole spacecraft exposing the interior of the spacecraft. And all four astronauts inside to the vacuum of space. Theres a little, i mean, theres some risk involved here. Huge risk. And the other piece thats really risky is there going to be traveling into the Radiation Belt<\/a> farther than any humans have flown since the end of the Apollo Program<\/a> so a lot of risk, but for space reporters, this is these are the kinds of missions that we liked to walk, cool, geeky stop.
