prices new every day, hurry. >> they'll be gone in a flash designer sales that up to 70% shop gilt.com today today on inside politics, the stage is set. >> one week out from the cnn presidential debate, and we're getting breaking details about, about what it will look like. who will talk glass and how he was all settled plus supreme suspense the court just issued for opinions, but they gave the country reason to keep paying attention by holding back blockbuster opinions on donald trump, executive power insurrectionist, and abortion. and new fear unlocked to us officials, warn all out war between ally israel and terror group has belonged, could render the iron dome a scrap keep manu raju in for dana bash. let's go behind the headlines and inside police first, brand new information next week cnn debate. and i'll everything well, look when you turn on cnn one week from today, president biden won a coin flip this morning to determine who stands where on the stage he chose screen, right? donald trump will appear on the left. the trump campaign then got to choose the order of closing statements in decided that biden will go first and trump will get the final word. >> and critically, it will be just the two men on state, robert f. >> kennedy jr. did not qualify for next week showdown. later today, president biden will head to camp david to begin an intensive week of debate prep and we have new details on how that prep is going for both candidates. so i'm gonna get straight to cnn's kayla tausche, who is live at the white. so kayla, what are you hearing manu president biden is going to be arriving at camp david late this evening. >> he plans to huddle there through the weekend with aids in prep curation sessions. that sources say could lead, right into the debate on thursday with the white house preserving the possibility that the president travels directly to it and at, from camp david, depending on how much prep they see as still required. now, that structure is going to evolve over the course of these next few days, starting with sort of informal conversations about topics, material policies, potential questions, potential responses, and potential rhetoric coming from donald trump. that is going to culminate in the next few days into formal 90 minute mock debates, where the president is going to be on his feet, expected to be responded being to the draft set of questions that his team has put together. and while the team is still compiling the list of which trump responses, they're going to be practicing with. their is one that has stood out in some of my conversations with sources and that is trump's comments in december 2023 that he'll be a dictator on day one, expect president biden to respond directly to that. now, the debate is going to be testing the biden team's theory of the case that voters have been largely disengaged until now. and so they think that it's going to be a workable strategy to retread some old trump material to put it on the radar of voters. now it's going to be the first debate for either their candidate since the last election. and president biden is leaning on some familiar territory, roughly the same aids will be in the room led by ron klain and sources say bob baer how are the president's personal attorney, who stood in for at role though casting motto is still open critical few days ahead with major implications. kayla tausche from the white house. thanks for that. and let's bring it out. a great group of political reporters. well as following all of this, cnn's alayna treene, zahlen, kano young's of the new york times, and washington post, leanne caldwell good to see you all. there has are coming elleithee. >> i know you've been doing a lot of reporting on the trump side of things. >> what are you hearing about what trump is doing ahead of this critical moment? >> well, one thing he's not doing is what kayla just laid out about mock debates. donald trump is not doing that this time. it is a departure from his past debate preparation. we know that rudy giuliani, chris christie, have stood in for his opponents before and mock debates. trump's team is not doing that now, they are trying to say that donald trump does not need a lot of debate preparation that he is him doing ali's at interviews that sort of thing is his preparation, however, of course, he is preparing for next week's debate. donald trump's team. >> they told me that he knows, they know he needs to do his homework. >> they know that the stakes of this debate are very hides what we've seen is actually over the past several weeks, donald trump has been meeting with vice presidential contenders, senators, different policy experts and allies former administration officials of his, for what they're deeming are dubbing, i should say, policy discussions one of those meetings happened a couple of weeks ago at mar-a-lago, he met with jd vance, a top presidential contender. they talked about the economy and inflation. we know last dweik, donald trump met with marco rubio, another presidential contender and senator eric schmitt, where they walked through his handling and rhetoric around the january 6 attack on the capitol. i know that kellyanne conway, stephen miller, recurrent. all people who served in his previous administration have been holding some of these policies sessions with them. so that's really what their focus has been. what's interesting too, i just want to add is it hasn't just been policy discussions. a lot of it has been talked about his rhetoric and reigning in some of his aggression we know and pass debates. he has been very aggressive, is gone after the moderators. they want to rein that. >> well, let me mute it. he's gonna be muted when he is not speaking in some people believe that actually could help trump in some ways because remember the last debate of the 2020 debate, he was interrupting biden left and right and it was not his best moment yeah. >> that's absolutely right. reined in by the rules. >> the rules right. but i was speaking yesterday to philippe brains, the guy who played donald trump for hillary clinton's debate. a little preview of my newsletter tomorrow morning. and he said the early brief notes joking, but he said that this is going to be really fascinating. >> these rules and how how trump and each candidate abides by it. and there's going to be things that are said on the stage. that might seem off because the audience won't hear it. but trump and biden will hear each other. so they might be responding to each other, might say seem like a comment that comes from out of nowhere when they're responding to each other because we can't actually hear the ines all the interaction between the two of them but unless they speak so loudly that the mic picks it up. yeah. i guess it won't be an audience for that. i the television audience and so as far as the preparations are concerned, another thing that rain said is that president's historically often do very poorly in the first debate, it is something that they don't like to do. they don't like to prep for it. they really don't like to spend a lot of time and have someone barking at them telling them what they're doing wrong, what they're saying is wrong. >> i mean, obama struggled against romney got bush because really you didn't do any primary debates. you have, doesn't do really, any really tough interviews and mostly friendly interviews. is he ready for this no. 100%? and look, i was talking to secretary jen granholm recently where you might remember played pay in debate prep sessions with joe biden and she was saying, look the challenge for debate stage it just is really and when you're approaching it is you want to talk about your record, but you have to balance that with going on the offense as well. >> and for both of these individuals, it'll be interesting to see how they can, how they can meet that challenge is trump ready for this? >> i mean, i know that the biden campaign and buying states, they are focused on honing in on not only his record, but also recent statements that he's made as well. they want to put a spotlight, not just on biden's time in office, but all it's almost make this sort of a assessment, if you will, of the state of the country when trump was president i do think one area in particular that i know biden's age bearing him to on is with these recent executive actions on immigration, one on enforcement at the border, one providing relief to undocumented immigrants in the country. they think at that in turn, just as an example of this, can put a spotlight on trump's approach to that policy, which was family separation. so that's an example of how they're going to balance, actions that the biden administration has taken. and then inversely also putting a spotlight on how the former president approach. >> i want to turn to the state of the race right now because there were interesting new polls that came out from fox news last night about biden the best he is looked at msg. again, this is neck-and-neck race according the public polling, there's no clear leader here. it's within the margin of error. all the rest, but there have been a few different poles to other poles in recent weeks. they've shown a slight uptick for joe biden some of it may be post-conviction. is he getting a post-conviction bump is so if you talk to democrats, that's what they from conventional pose hunter biden conviction, a separate issue verification those tropic conviction bumps. >> if you talked to democrats, that's what they're saying and they say that this actually is not expected despite the donald trump thinking that the convictions will actually help him. it might help him it helps them perhaps among his base. >> but this poll yesterday, this fox news poll, like you mentioned, it's not a complete outlier because the poles have actually been tightening over the past couple weeks. >> yeah. but it showed if you break down issue by issue about what is extremely important to the country, it was interesting also what voters setting according to this poll, the future american democracy considered the highest, even more so than the economy, which of course is always typically the dominant issue at every single election cycle, all or down to abortion, just under 50% there's been a uptick combined support, his up by six points about the democracy issue and the economy. trump is leading by five, but that is down from where 13 points. but trump was up by 13 points in the economy in the same fox news poll. so you talked to the trump campaign all the time. i think concerned the this numbers? are they they think that they're in good position, right? >> they think they're in a good position. i also think they often criticized and question some of these polls, but look, they actually do think, even though the fox news poll we're showing that american democracy as number one, they think the economy is number one, they keep pushing that the, it's the economy stupid. and so that's really the message, even though of course there there's a number of things. the three main things for the trump campaign going into november is the economy and inflation, crime, and the border. they recognize that they really do think the biggest area where they can win on is around the economy. so they dispute a lot of these polls whenever i asked them about that, before you jump in zone and there was also part of this pole just talked about the voters on choice for president by group of voters whom is voting for men, trump winning by 15 points of events. biden 17 points among women and then urban rural divide. so sharp between trump versus biden and then independence. biden is leading according to this poll, by nine points in the voters over 65 15 points. those are the most frequent voters. voters over 65. >> that is also been somewhat consistent about when recent polling, yeah, that's gonna be welcomed news for the biden campaign and for president biden's aides here, i think they are going to want to focus on those independence and continued to build support with their constituency groups. >> and that's also part of the timing of this they hope that having this debate earlier will sharpen that contrast and continue to give them a boost. >> and there's some oslo, some news as well, lotto news is our, he had more to come. one here are the two the biden campaign just announced that they reached what they call it, they are calling a quote, critical organizing milestone. they say 100,000 battlegrounds staffers, sorry, excuse me, 1,000 battleground staffers across over 200 offices in battleground state they argue that this is far more than what trump has at this time in the campaign season significant, it's absolutely significant and they have been saying for months that they are well ahead of the trump campaign. alaina would know better than i would, but i have but from what i'm hearing from trump people and democrats, and people in states is that trump does not have a very active organization on the ground. and so ultimately with this funding, this funding the advantage that joe biden has a lot of that money course is going to television ads, but also to this on the ground operation that's going to be crucial. >> is it is a trump campaign that far behind. >> they have a totally different way of how they're grounding strategy looks this here, they are far more focused, less on quantity and quality. there words not mine, they're actually relying very heavily on outside groups to do a lot of the battle ground ground game strategy be the boots on the ground for them, these key states we know turning point action. other groups have really been spending tons of money. a lot of this is also the trump campaign has been lagging in fundraising compared to the biden campaign. and so they're trying to to plan out their ground game that way. >> all right. we'll see what happens next more on the biden campaign's battleground state plan, we've got a first end. we've got a first on cnn interview with the campaign co-chair about that. plus supremum slow the court again, makes a country weight and the most watched cases including the ones dealing with donald trump the most anticipated moment of this election, and the stakes couldn't be higher the president and the former president, one stage moderated by jake tapper and dana bash to cnn presidential debate. >> next thursday night at nine live on cnn and streaming unmet. >> it's terms de. but neutrogena, ultra shear sunscreen is still on the clock. vital sun protection goes six layers deep, blocking 97% of burning uv rays. it's light, but it's working hard. like me, neutrogena, ultra shear sunscreen. it's so easy to get your windshield replaced using safe flight. >> why don't you just get a fixed? well, you know, i'm sitting there, i'm right in the front row of the press section like you know, we like so eagerly awaiting any of these opinions that we've been waiting for, you know, and and justice kavanaugh, i suspected was going to read one of them because his parents were sitting in some guests seats. there were some clerks who would come in also. so you sort of thought maybe maybe we'll get one of the big a's. and we did get a fairly decent tax, get is a tax case. i know that sounds bad, but but it was a case that if the court had ruled actually that this federal tax from 2017 was invalid, it would have had great repercussions so that was a little bit of a it was an important case for the federal government for the biden administration, but it wasn't one of these big ones. so what we're waiting for is obviously major trump case developments specifically, whether the former president is going to have to stand trial before the november election then. but it also uses well, this is the thing everyone will come tomorrow. we do not know, we know there'll be in tomorrow friday. we know there'll be in probably about three days next week. and typically they try to be finished by the end of june. that's their goal. but this year because of where the july 4th holiday falls toward the end of the following week there's a good chance they could come in again on monday, july 1st, which might be when we get their final opinion. >> i know i know the two things have been people think, oh, they just wait till the end when everybody's on vacation. but part of it is the deadline pressures. we all know what it's like to write on deadline or do anything on deadline. and the justice is actually have some of that. they're exchanging drafts right now. they've, they've actually decided all the cases. i don't anticipate at this point there's going to be any switched vote, but sometimes that happens at this very last moment so there there they're engaged in dueling footnotes are going back and forth. and i presumed that we will get at least four or five opinions tomorrow, but we just don't know at this stage because they are up against their own internal deputies. >> so as of tuesday, 110 days, i'd past since the court had agreed to hear the trump immunity case and in the watergate case, took 54 days once it reached sidecar, this neural times opinion piece was sad about this, is that something rotten? something rotten about the justices taking so long on trump's immunity case, something run. i respectfully dissent from that view. i do not think something's necessarily really rotten or erroneous, or out of the ordinary. let's put this in perspective. watergate was a different era. the supreme court just doesn't function like that anymore. and watergate involved the sitting president under an active criminal investigation. i understand the stakes here, but let's put this in perspective. the trump immunity case, first of all, was the last case argued all the other cases that joan reference we're all argued many months before. second of all, it's completely normal to get this sort of case dump in late june sometimes into early july. this is when we get the big decisions. >> third of all, everyone relax. >> we are going to have this opinion within maybe tomorrow, maybe within a week, but sometime really soon. and finally, if you look at the actual timeframe here, the trump immunity decision was rendered and the district court. judge chutkan in december, to go from a district court ruling to a supreme court ruling in seven months is lightening speed. i understand everyone wants us as soon as possible. i understand the widely felt not universal, but widely felt desire to get this case back to the district courts. so if there's gonna be a trial can be held before the election. but i think people are maybe venting some anxiety inappropriately at the supreme court, by the way, if you want to vent it, somebody look at doj who took two-and-a-half years to charge this case, not the supreme court. that's taking a grant total a few months to decide sudden democrats would agree with that. i want you to listen just to remind viewers of that argument that was happening about what the trump team, the lawyers were saying about why donald trump deserves and their view immunity and what justice elana kagan was present them he littered the military to stage a coup and you're saying that's an official act. >> i think it would tabassum yoon. >> i think it would depend on the circumstances where there was an official act an official on the way you described that hypothetical, it could well be. i just don't know. again, it's a fact specific content germany's that answer sounds to me as though it's lead yeah, under my test, it's an official act, but that sure sounds bad, doesn't it is that argument going to convince me of the conservative justices? not necessarily, but it just goes to why this is taking, could be taking longer. and that's because the justices are grappling with should they actually delineate what would be an official act that could frankly protect the president from criminal prosecution and what he did and what actions he took with it might be regarded as private. so we know that that tied up the justices a lot during oral arguments and really important question here is when they rule one way or another in terms of president trump in whatever kind of immunity he can claim, are they going to get down into trying to define private versus official acts because that will make a difference when the case goes back to judge chutkan and there's also a major abortion case that we're also waiting for the question at hand is whether or not an idaho law that prohibits abortion supersedes a federal law that requires hospitals to provide an abortion to patients during an emergency who need what i mean just the supreme court just ruled kept the image of a approach john abortion pill essentially on the market because they ruled on procedural grounds in some ways republicans breathe a sigh of relief because they took that issue at least momentarily off the ballot. >> but if they rule in against the biden administration here, that this could be a problem for some republicans they fear, yeah, absolutely. >> well, and the dobbs anniversary is monday and so it is very politically hot topic at this moment and has been for the last two years, but especially right now, where democrats from the biden campaign, all the way down to a state-level. democrats are honing in on this topic of abortion and trying to remind voters again and again, where republican stand and their lack of their lack of ability to have a coherent, cohesive opinion. >> do we think the supreme court will try to figure out a way out of this, like the way they did, but they're not going to have yeah, they're not going to have that kind of procedural off-ramp when it comes to standing, it's really interesting to see from sort of the legal and the political pickle traditional roles are almost flipped here. i mean, we're talking about republicans dreading the possibility of an opinion that's restrictive on abortion. democrats sort of politically hoping for an opinion that maybe it goes the opposite way. it's like opposite world here, but i guess that's where we are. it shows just how, how abortion is such a top issue right now. one that the biden campaign and democrats really are eager to put a spotlight on to draw the contrast between the policy and the agendas of their political opponents here, just to go back to what you were saying, elie as well in terms of the politics of this, some of the anxiety that i think people are venting when it comes to some of these decisions that have to do what trump are directly connected to just how seismic time ming is politically for these decisions obviously, these delays have a legal process, but also just politically when you talk about both democrats and republicans, they're watching to see if these cases are going to get pushed back after the election. yeah. right. i mean, that would that could be the difference, but particularly for the federal cases, depending on he wins the election on whether or not there's any accountability for january. so you remember the court already last december rejected special counsel jack smith's request to hear that case earlier. >> and by hearing in an april which is a very tough month for the justices because does is ellie said come right after they've heard so many other oral arguments and are trying to write opinions april is their toughest month, and they could have they could have if they wanted to answer jack smith and the department of justice had heard as a result, these cases, no matter what happens, likely will not reach a verdict before november. all right. more to come coming up. new cnn reporting on american fears that israel's iron dome could crack historically, the soviet union killed traders i started to run to kgb cars, had come behind. >> i didn't know what to do. >> secrets and spies. a nuclear game sunday at ten on cnn. >> so this is pickleball is basically tenants for babies but for adults, it should be called willful tennis club on them like a pea we have nothing to worry about with e-trade for morgan stanley were ready for whatever gets served up till you get to working chest. >> i'd rather work on saving for retirement for college since we'd like to get schools that's pretty good. burn right? got game thanks for coming to our clinic first one's free. >> it's so easy to get your windshield replaced using safe like why don't you just get a fixed? all right. so what do we do now? i've scheduled an appointment as safe flight.com told me is here at the beach scheduled free mobile service at safe light.com that we pay are safe like we place. its clinical going to go nine this zoom and they can't this she more stomata vision works, see the difference cities industry-leading global payment solutions help their clients move money around the world seamlessly in over 180 countries, and help a partner like the world food programme as they provide more than food to people in need. together, city in the world food programme empower family across the globe from medium rare well done so many ways to save life ready while it happy. >> but 365 by whole foods market start your de with nature made the number one pharmacist recommend they vitamin supplement brand. >> are you seeing this was the one you're telling me you can get direct tv got good stuff, and you don't need a satellite dish all i used to love doing my business on those things. won-sik pigeon, then dishes kept the rain off our beaks. we just have different priorities satellite free, directv never thought i'd see the day or lifespans are quite short, extreme directtv without a satellite dish, you going to do this thing with my neck just for a bit at morgan stanley old school hardware meets bold new thinking at 88-years-old, we still see the world with a wonder of nature who is helping you discover untapped possibilities and relentlessly working with you to make them real want to save on some of the biggest names in streaming on the network made for streaming? >> yeah, mana is it's important to note, of course, that has below is really a lot stronger of a group. then hamas is. and with that they have thousands and thousands of precision guided missiles and rockets and drones that in the event of a full-blown war with israel, they could start launching. of course, right across that northern border. and so us officials are concerned that if a war were to erupt between israel and hezbollah, then the iron dome, that key air defense system that israel has had in place for years now, could be vulnerable, particularly if hezbollah decides to launch a large-scale attacks at is real using precision guided munitions, as well as drones and hezbollah has already released a video of a drone purporting to strike an iron dome battery in northern israel. they also released footage from a drone up purporting to show sensitive israeli military sites inside the country. and so there are serious concerns here that if israel were to launch some kind of offensive against has bulla then this could create a war that would require israel to really have additional air defense systems that the us would provide. but still, there would be significant vulnerabilities. now, this is all coming to the fore at this point because the the us understands that israel is planning to shift some of its resources from southern gaza, where it has been engaging in intense fighting against hamas to northern israel along that border with lebanon in preparation for a possible offensive against hezbollah there. so the rhetoric on both sides is really rising here. tensions are rising at really exponentially over the last several days, the us working really hard behind the scenes to try to de-escalate situation. but there are still plans being made on both sides for a potential war here. manu, so much to take in there and a lot to follow. thank you for that breaking news. natasha bertrand, live from the pentagon. thank you. >> all right. in minutes, the first on cnn interview with a top biden campaign official about the president's plan to try to turn battleground on the blue i voted buttons grabbed my rainbow kitten. it's like your generation in has evolved past traditional political symbols. and there's room for everyone yeah puke rainbows, white, not flossing. well then add the wo of listerine to your routine. new science shows listerine is five times more effective than floss at reducing plaque above the gum line for a cleaner healthier mouth. this three feel the wo if you're shopping for a home realtor.com only shows you homes for sale source directly from professionals, meaning you can trust every home listing isn't realistic, don't all have to do that. >> not really. trust the number one app real estate professionals trust can the riva support your brain health? these 1,000 staffers doing well less in every campaign specific, especially this one is going to be very close. >> and when you do that, you have to meet voters where they are. and of course, the most important thing to do is to have people on the ground where voters live, talking to them about the issues that are important to them. but of course the biden campaign understands that you can't just do ads on tv. you have to get on the ground. and so today, we announced with hard 1,000 person that is are manning the offices in all of the swing state. so these individuals are on the ground that working every day they talking to constituents, and listening with constituents. and that bringing them the message that joe biden wakes up every day fighting to them, making sure that he's going to protect that democracy, protect their freedoms, and fight like hell to lower their costs and to make their life better. and that's what they, they have four. so when you build the infrastructure on the ground, you have the ability to actually talk to folks and talk to them in a way that helps bring the vote to joe biden let's talk about, let's start with the state of this race because obviously this has been a neck-and-neck race polling shows that even though down trump has been convicted on 34 felonies than liable for sexual abuse and even after janos six, this race is still effectively tied. some, many bowls other than the fox news one had in my head former president trump over biden. so why is the biden campaign unable to take advantage of any of this well, first of all, i don't i don't i don't agree with your premise the people america are going to very soon have a choice between donald trump who wakes up every day thinking about himself, thinking about his billionaire friends, and then things about how he's going to hurt people that he thinks have heard him. >> joe biden, which have every day fighting for the american people, making sure that we're going to protect people's freedoms protect democracy and lower cost. >> but why, why is this election? why is it so close? >> given all the things advantage, you might have? >> why is it so close? >> the election the election is five months away. >> elections take a lot of time. they take a lot of effort and they take a lot of work and you have to build a team to actually make that happen. that case is being made. as we speak polls come, polls go. the only one that matters is the one on election day. and i feel very confident that when people show up, they're going to choose joe biden because he fights for them every day in order to do that, you have to be on air. you gotta be on the ground. you have got to raise the money to do that, and that's what the campaign is in the process of doing that as we speak. >> so cnn's reporting president biden and his aides are gathering at camp david to prepare for cnn's presidential debate next week. so what is the president doing to prepare and how much? do you expect them to focus on trump's convictions well, first of all, as you know, joe biden has already debated donald trump twice and beat him before he got 8 million more votes and beat him in the presidency. >> and the president is going to show up in real time like he always does. you always have to prepare for these things. they're very important gordon the moderators, as you know, cnn is going to do the debate are really tough in the questions they're going to ask. and the president, as he should, is preparing for this just like he prepares every day to fight for the people of america the fact of the matter is a donald trump is not only a convicted felon, he also went bankrupt six times, and he has very difficulty in his personal life, in his business life, in his political life, by people, do you expect tip donald trump, people that he picked, that he picked quit and asked us not to do it. so the president is going to ask donald trump questions. he's going to want to know why he appointed three justices that he eviscerating roe versus wade and put women's lives in danger. he's going to ask donald trump why he threatened democracy of this company? country and help with the insurrection and now wants to pardon those folks. he's going to talk to him about why he continues to seek revenge and retribution and try to give his friends his billionaire friends and other tax break. and why he heard the country so badly when he was president. you can expect, are president to speak about those issues with donald trump i want you to listen to a claim that former president trump has made a few times about president biden ahead of the debate these gonna be so pumped up, he's gonna be pumped up, you know, all that stuff that was missing about a month ago from the white house? >> what happened? who drew left is somebody left it that somebody didn't pick up hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of cocaine. i wonder who that could upend. >> i don't know actually, i think it was joe what do you say to the former president who keeps saying that on the campaign don the khan, he's going to, he's going to talk trash like that all the top because that's what he does. the other day you may remember he was trying to question our president's mental acuity and he could not remember that the name of his own doctor so tell president trump, bring whatever he's got president biden will be standing there, ready farm. he beat him twice before he's going to beat him again so i want to turn to the issue of abortion because obviously that will come up undoubtedly in the debate and it's a huge issue in the campaign according to a new poll from kaiser family foundation, nearly third of women voters say this presidential election will have no impact on abortion access in their states. >> so i'm wondering what the biden campaign strategy do you have you done enough to engage voters on this issue or did the supreme court's mifepristone ruling actually hurt? that argument. that abortion access is a risk well, first of all, the important thing to know is a donald trump has spent his presidency and his tom hurting people, especially women he has taken credit for and he deserves credit for overturning roe versus wade by appointing three supreme court justices who did just that thing that got returned to the states. >> and many of the states are eviscerating women's right, not just on abortion, but on contraception, on ivf and some of the incredible extreme measures that are being exacted upon women across this country. in many states, the president biden is going to talk to president trump about that. that is just a fact, and women are being hurt. president biden believes in women. donald trump believes in states. that's fine. we should have that debate because the american people are clear that that decision should be left to between a wife, a mother, a doc after her husband, or partner of friends, that decision is for the woman to make, not the states. >> so i know the campaign ideally wants to win every battleground state, but take me to election day. you're looking at the map. what do you view? maryland drew is the absolute must win bellwether state in order for biden to stay in the white house well, first of all, this is gonna be a very close election, not just like the last one was, but the one before that and the one before that, everybody knows where the battleground states aren't. >> everybody is going to be on the ground trying to win every one of them. every one of them is an opportunity for osc. every one of them is a risk that's why you have to do everything that's why putting 1,000 people on the ground in these several battleground states are important. that's why talking about the fact that donald trump is going to seek retribution is important. that's why character and the fact that donald trump is a convicted felon is important and we're going to tell that story and every one of those dates and hope to win them all. >> all right meryl, andrew. thank you so much for taking the time and sharing your views. >> thanks, mano. good to be with you coming up next. we'll get reaction from trump-world about what we just heard from the mayor stayed to it the most anticipated moment of this election and the stakes couldn't be higher. the president and the former president, one stage two, very different visions for america's future. the cnn presidential debate. next thursday netted nine life. i'd cnn and streaming unmanned everywhere. but the seat to seat as levs again, you love your bike. we did tim, that's why we're american number one motorcycle insurer. the do you have to wedge it and everything i don't do that reminds me of my black the wolf was about the size of my new motorcycle. >> have you seen it by the way? >> they're going to need it monitors. they're going to need it there behind you. you're talking to the mayor about right? all those good things he was saying about, you know, he's a great surrogate, the biden biden campaign are lucky to have him on their team because they're going to need it in state after state after state. you see poll after poll after poll american just are biden, are buying what the biden campaign is selling they have greater faith and former president trump's ability to rectify this tragically flawed economy, to fix the border, the pores border to restore hoping america. >> people the answer the question, they're being asked the question, manu are you better off now than you were 40 years ago? and they are resoundingly answering know. and so the things that the mayor is talking about, we're gonna go out and talk about dobbs and doctor see those things are great if you could afford to fill your gas tank pay for food on your table, but real wages have lagged inflation dramatically during the biden administration. and people, people are concerned about those issues and don't have faith at present, the current president is gonna do anything to reverse that. so the trump campaign is dismissing the effectiveness of president biden's latest attack ad, highlighting trump's recent criminal conviction but as you see, david biden is inching pass trump in some of the pools yes, there's a margin of error, but there appears to be there could be some trend here. >> do you believe that are signs that the trump conviction is actually helping biden right now? >> how look, i don't think that's the case. i look is, you know, and i know this is going to be a close race america is pretty much a 50, 50 country, right in my home state of pennsylvania, the commonwealth, a landslide is 1% in 2016. we want that race by roughly 45,000 boats and 2020, the biden administration, they when they came to be by a whopping close to 80,000 votes. so this elections could be close at all those states in michigan wisconsin, pennsylvania, arizona so i don't by the fact that that one snapshot pole is a snapshot in time am i don't buy that a couple of polls, they're gonna make a difference here. i don't think that the, the conviction here in new york state or any place else is going to really dampen the support of president trump. there's a great editorial today in the wall street journal that talks about why republicans are flocking the dlj job, why independence are flocking to trump because of what they perceive as lawfare. >> well, what's the heading to the debate next week, week from today? what is the biggest concern you have about how donald trump performs at the debate? >> yeah, look, listen, i hope the president trump, i hope he looks forward. rate. windshield is bigger than the rear-view mirror and your car for a reason and i hope the former president kind of thinks about that analogy, so it doesn't matter talking about election day. you shay, you're saying he should not talk about the election being stolen. is that what you're saying? >> i know exactly. i think i think americans want to hear about the answer to the question. i think donald trump should walk out of the stage and say, joe biden, american people, do you feel that you're better off today than you were four years ago? i believe people are going to say no, one if president trump talks about his record of accomplishments during his time in the white house and talks about the things that he plans on doing for the next four years to close the border, to crack down on crime, to make americans feel more secure in their jobs and their financial life in their home life. i think he's going to be a winner on november 5th. i think that's what he needs to do and not talk about the past election in 20 yeah, i suspected he reiterates those false claims about an election being stolen it will be the biden campaign. there'll be very, very happy about that. we'll see how trump did performs n by the next week. all right, david urban, thank you so much for joining us and remind exponent, thanks for having me and a reminder. absolutely. we're just seven days away from the first presidential debate of the year hosted by cnn. don't miss president joe biden former president trump, go head-to-head. i doing 27. >> and of course that is at 9:00 p.m. eastern. >> thanks for joining inside politics in a new central starts after a quick break the assignments are going on. >> and the tornado here. >> i'm thinking i'm going to die. and i thought that was it. >> earth with liev schreiber, sunday at nine on cnn with cargo ruse, filter millions of listings to the land. the perfect deal only you could do things your way all the time imagine that get it with gurus from roger two. >> we there yet so many ways to save life, ready, while it happy. but 365 by whole foods market you've had thyroid disease for a long time and you've lived with the damage it caused. but even after all these years, restoration is still possible. learn how at ted help.com, protect against rsv with a wreck sv, a rexx v is a vaccine used to prevent lower respiratory disease from rsv. and people 60 years and older, a rexx v does not protect everyone and is not for those with severe allergic reactions to its ingredients, those with weakened immune systems may have a lower response to the vaccine. the most common side effects are injection site pain, fatigue, muscle pain headache, and joint pain. a rexx v is number one and rsv vaccine shots. rsv make it a wrexham do you ever worry we wouldn't get you enjoy this? prices new every day, hurry. >> they'll be gone in a flash designer sales that up to 70% shop gilt.com today today on inside politics, the stage is set. >> one week out from the cnn presidential debate, and we're getting breaking details about, about what it will look like. who will talk glass and how he was all settled plus supreme suspense the court just issued for opinions, but they gave the country reason to keep paying attention by holding back blockbuster opinions on donald trump, executive power insurrectionist, and abortion. and new fear unlocked to us officials, warn all out war between ally israel and terror group has belonged, could render the iron dome a scrap keep manu raju in for dana bash. let's go behind the headlines and inside police first, brand new information next week cnn debate. and i'll everything well, look when you turn on cnn one week from today, president biden won a coin flip this morning to determine who stands where on the stage he chose screen, right? donald trump will appear on the left. the trump campaign then got to choose the order of closing statements in decided that biden will go first and trump will get the final word. >> and critically, it will be just the two men on state, robert f. >> kennedy jr. did not qualify for next week showdown. later today, president biden will head to camp david to begin an intensive week of debate prep and we have new details on how that prep is going for both candidates. so i'm gonna get straight to cnn's kayla tausche, who is live at the white. so kayla, what are you hearing manu president biden is going to be arriving at camp david late this evening. >> he plans to huddle there through the weekend with aids in prep curation sessions. that sources say could lead, right into the debate on thursday with the white house preserving the possibility that the president travels directly to it and at, from camp david, depending on how much prep they see as still required. now, that structure is going to evolve over the course of these next few days, starting with sort of informal conversations about topics, material policies, potential questions, potential responses, and potential rhetoric coming from donald trump. that is going to culminate in the next few days into formal 90 minute mock debates, where the president is going to be on his feet, expected to be responded being to the draft set of questions that his team has put together. and while the team is still compiling the list of which trump responses, they're going to be practicing with. their is one that has stood out in some of my conversations with sources and that is trump's comments in december 2023 that he'll be a dictator on day one, expect president biden to respond directly to that. now, the debate is going to be testing the biden team's theory of the case that voters have been largely disengaged until now. and so they think that it's going to be a workable strategy to retread some old trump material to put it on the radar of voters. now it's going to be the first debate for either their candidate since the last election. and president biden is leaning on some familiar territory, roughly the same aids will be in the room led by ron klain and sources say bob baer how are the president's personal attorney, who stood in for at role though casting motto is still open critical few days ahead with major implications. kayla tausche from the white house. thanks for that. and let's bring it out. a great group of political reporters. well as following all of this, cnn's alayna treene, zahlen, kano young's of the new york times, and washington post, leanne caldwell good to see you all. there has are coming elleithee. >> i know you've been doing a lot of reporting on the trump side of things. >> what are you hearing about what trump is doing ahead of this critical moment? >> well, one thing he's not doing is what kayla just laid out about mock debates. donald trump is not doing that this time. it is a departure from his past debate preparation. we know that rudy giuliani, chris christie, have stood in for his opponents before and mock debates. trump's team is not doing that now, they are trying to say that donald trump does not need a lot of debate preparation that he is him doing ali's at interviews that sort of thing is his preparation, however, of course, he is preparing for next week's debate. donald trump's team. >> they told me that he knows, they know he needs to do his homework. >> they know that the stakes of this debate are very hides what we've seen is actually over the past several weeks, donald trump has been meeting with vice presidential contenders, senators, different policy experts and allies former administration officials of his, for what they're deeming are dubbing, i should say, policy discussions one of those meetings happened a couple of weeks ago at mar-a-lago, he met with jd vance, a top presidential contender. they talked about the economy and inflation. we know last dweik, donald trump met with marco rubio, another presidential contender and senator eric schmitt, where they walked through his handling and rhetoric around the january 6 attack on the capitol. i know that kellyanne conway, stephen miller, recurrent. all people who served in his previous administration have been holding some of these policies sessions with them. so that's really what their focus has been. what's interesting too, i just want to add is it hasn't just been policy discussions. a lot of it has been talked about his rhetoric and reigning in some of his aggression we know and pass debates. he has been very aggressive, is gone after the moderators. they want to rein that. >> well, let me mute it. he's gonna be muted when he is not speaking in some people believe that actually could help trump in some ways because remember the last debate of the 2020 debate, he was interrupting biden left and right and it was not his best moment yeah. >> that's absolutely right. reined in by the rules. >> the rules right. but i was speaking yesterday to philippe brains, the guy who played donald trump for hillary clinton's debate. a little preview of my newsletter tomorrow morning. and he said the early brief notes joking, but he said that this is going to be really fascinating. >> these rules and how how trump and each candidate abides by it. and there's going to be things that are said on the stage. that might seem off because the audience won't hear it. but trump and biden will hear each other. so they might be responding to each other, might say seem like a comment that comes from out of nowhere when they're responding to each other because we can't actually hear the ines all the interaction between the two of them but unless they speak so loudly that the mic picks it up. yeah. i guess it won't be an audience for that. i the television audience and so as far as the preparations are concerned, another thing that rain said is that president's historically often do very poorly in the first debate, it is something that they don't like to do. they don't like to prep for it. they really don't like to spend a lot of time and have someone barking at them telling them what they're doing wrong, what they're saying is wrong. >> i mean, obama struggled against romney got bush because really you didn't do any primary debates. you have, doesn't do really, any really tough interviews and mostly friendly interviews. is he ready for this no. 100%? and look, i was talking to secretary jen granholm recently where you might remember played pay in debate prep sessions with joe biden and she was saying, look the challenge for debate stage it just is really and when you're approaching it is you want to talk about your record, but you have to balance that with going on the offense as well. >> and for both of these individuals, it'll be interesting to see how they can, how they can meet that challenge is trump ready for this? >> i mean, i know that the biden campaign and buying states, they are focused on honing in on not only his record, but also recent statements that he's made as well. they want to put a spotlight, not just on biden's time in office, but all it's almost make this sort of a assessment, if you will, of the state of the country when trump was president i do think one area in particular that i know biden's age bearing him to on is with these recent executive actions on immigration, one on enforcement at the border, one providing relief to undocumented immigrants in the country. they think at that in turn, just as an example of this, can put a spotlight on trump's approach to that policy, which was family separation. so that's an example of how they're going to balance, actions that the biden administration has taken. and then inversely also putting a spotlight on how the former president approach. >> i want to turn to the state of the race right now because there were interesting new polls that came out from fox news last night about biden the best he is looked at msg. again, this is neck-and-neck race according the public polling, there's no clear leader here. it's within the margin of error. all the rest, but there have been a few different poles to other poles in recent weeks. they've shown a slight uptick for joe biden some of it may be post-conviction. is he getting a post-conviction bump is so if you talk to democrats, that's what they from conventional pose hunter biden conviction, a separate issue verification those tropic conviction bumps. >> if you talked to democrats, that's what they're saying and they say that this actually is not expected despite the donald trump thinking that the convictions will actually help him. it might help him it helps them perhaps among his base. >> but this poll yesterday, this fox news poll, like you mentioned, it's not a complete outlier because the poles have actually been tightening over the past couple weeks. >> yeah. but it showed if you break down issue by issue about what is extremely important to the country, it was interesting also what voters setting according to this poll, the future american democracy considered the highest, even more so than the economy, which of course is always typically the dominant issue at every single election cycle, all or down to abortion, just under 50% there's been a uptick combined support, his up by six points about the democracy issue and the economy. trump is leading by five, but that is down from where 13 points. but trump was up by 13 points in the economy in the same fox news poll. so you talked to the trump campaign all the time. i think concerned the this numbers? are they they think that they're in good position, right? >> they think they're in a good position. i also think they often criticized and question some of these polls, but look, they actually do think, even though the fox news poll we're showing that american democracy as number one, they think the economy is number one, they keep pushing that the, it's the economy stupid. and so that's really the message, even though of course there there's a number of things. the three main things for the trump campaign going into november is the economy and inflation, crime, and the border. they recognize that they really do think the biggest area where they can win on is around the economy. so they dispute a lot of these polls whenever i asked them about that, before you jump in zone and there was also part of this pole just talked about the voters on choice for president by group of voters whom is voting for men, trump winning by 15 points of events. biden 17 points among women and then urban rural divide. so sharp between trump versus biden and then independence. biden is leading according to this poll, by nine points in the voters over 65 15 points. those are the most frequent voters. voters over 65. >> that is also been somewhat consistent about when recent polling, yeah, that's gonna be welcomed news for the biden campaign and for president biden's aides here, i think they are going to want to focus on those independence and continued to build support with their constituency groups. >> and that's also part of the timing of this they hope that having this debate earlier will sharpen that contrast and continue to give them a boost. >> and there's some oslo, some news as well, lotto news is our, he had more to come. one here are the two the biden campaign just announced that they reached what they call it, they are calling a quote, critical organizing milestone. they say 100,000 battlegrounds staffers, sorry, excuse me, 1,000 battleground staffers across over 200 offices in battleground state they argue that this is far more than what trump has at this time in the campaign season significant, it's absolutely significant and they have been saying for months that they are well ahead of the trump campaign. alaina would know better than i would, but i have but from what i'm hearing from trump people and democrats, and people in states is that trump does not have a very active organization on the ground. and so ultimately with this funding, this funding the advantage that joe biden has a lot of that money course is going to television ads, but also to this on the ground operation that's going to be crucial. >> is it is a trump campaign that far behind. >> they have a totally different way of how they're grounding strategy looks this here, they are far more focused, less on quantity and quality. there words not mine, they're actually relying very heavily on outside groups to do a lot of the battle ground ground game strategy be the boots on the ground for them, these key states we know turning point action. other groups have really been spending tons of money. a lot of this is also the trump campaign has been lagging in fundraising compared to the biden campaign. and so they're trying to to plan out their ground game that way. >> all right. we'll see what happens next more on the biden campaign's battleground state plan, we've got a first end. we've got a first on cnn interview with the campaign co-chair about that. plus supremum slow the court again, makes a country weight and the most watched cases including the ones dealing with donald trump the most anticipated moment of this election, and the stakes couldn't be higher the president and the former president, one stage moderated by jake tapper and dana bash to cnn presidential debate. >> next thursday night at nine live on cnn and streaming unmet. >> it's terms de. but neutrogena, ultra shear sunscreen is still on the clock. vital sun protection goes six layers deep, blocking 97% of burning uv rays. it's light, but it's working hard. like me, neutrogena, ultra shear sunscreen. it's so easy to get your windshield replaced using safe flight. >> why don't you just get a fixed? all right? so what do we do now? i'm scheduled an appointment as safe light light.com told me is here at the beach scheduled free mobile service at safe flight.com that we pay are safe it'd be placed circle. circle. circle find anything about let me start there. >> when. i do my friends i can circle that, find anything something that you like to draw around it some invite you right now, you get a free foot locker subway just by any foot login to ask and get one free. >> just scan the qr code and enter promo code fifo go. it only worked on for this saturday screen buddy, you still got a landline. are your house or noun that subway out oh, cornea zelda, it's got to me, i saw them. >> that's what i said. >> gadolinium god. i and you swap. >> you don't roll on rows i brought in a juror max protein with 30 grams of protein. >> those who tried me felt more energy and just two weeks here, i'll take that sure. >> not to protein 30 grams protein one frame. shiver, 25 vitamins and minerals, and a new fiber blend with a prebiotic deliveries happen ordered this happens sox that happened. he get out of there tobacco, the pitch. >> let's go home happens. >> be there with ring. there are more at rnc.com. >> if you have chronic kidney disease you can reduce the risk of kidney failure with par sega because there are places would like to be for circular can cause serious side effects, including ketoacidosis that may be fatal, dehydration, urinary tract, or genital yeast infections and low blood sugar a rare life-threatening bacterial infection in the skin of the perineum could occur, stopped taking four sika and call your doctor right away of the eps symptoms of disinfection and allergic reaction or ketoacids ptosis. >> copd hasn't been pretty it's tough to breathe and tough to keep wondering if this is as good as it gets metrology as shown me that there's still beauty and breath to be hacked because three medicines in one inhaler trilogy keeps my airways open and prevents future flare-ups and with one dosage de trilogy and rooves lung function joe, i can read more freely whole day and night trilogy won't replace a rescue inhaler for sudden breathing problems. >> tell your doctor if you have a heart condition or high blood pressure before taking it, do not take trilogy more than prescribed. trilogy may increase your risk of thrush pneumonia and osteoporosis. call your doctor for some breathing chest pain, mouth or tongue swelling problems, urinating, vision changes, or ipad occur ask your doctor about watch daily trilogy copd, because breathing should be beautiful here's to getting better with age. >> here's the beaten these to every thursday helped fuel today with boost type protein complete nutrition, you need without the stuff you don't so here's two now if you're shopping for a home realtor.com, real choice financing lets you choose from up to three independent lenders unlike some apps that push you to use their mortgage company, really, really trust the number one app, real estate professional trust from roger we there yet so many ways to save life ready while it happy. >> that's 365 by whole foods market i'm dr. sanjay gupta in atlanta and this is cnn is the supreme court getting ready for friday case dub. today the court released four more rulings, but there are still 19 cases. it needs to weigh in on which just a few days left in the court's term, that includes the biggest of all our presidents are immune from prosecution cnn senior supreme court analyst, joan biskupic, and cnn senior legal analyst, elie honig, join our panel. great to see you both. joan, you came running over from the second wave guard as you're usually do. by this hour, you are there this morning. what is taking the courts so long here? well, you know, i'm sitting there, i'm right in the front row of the press section like you know, we like so eagerly awaiting any of these opinions that we've been waiting for, you know, and and justice kavanaugh, i suspected was going to read one of them because his parents were sitting in some guests seats. there were some clerks who would come in also. so you sort of thought maybe maybe we'll get one of the big a's. and we did get a fairly decent tax, get is a tax case. i know that sounds bad, but but it was a case that if the court had ruled actually that this federal tax from 2017 was invalid, it would have had great repercussions so that was a little bit of a it was an important case for the federal government for the biden administration, but it wasn't one of these big ones. so what we're waiting for is obviously major trump case developments specifically, whether the former president is going to have to stand trial before the november election then. but it also uses well, this is the thing everyone will come tomorrow. we do not know, we know there'll be in tomorrow friday. we know there'll be in probably about three days next week. and typically they try to be finished by the end of june. that's their goal. but this year because of where the july 4th holiday falls toward the end of the following week there's a good chance they could come in again on monday, july 1st, which might be when we get their final opinion. >> i know i know the two things have been people think, oh, they just wait till the end when everybody's on vacation. but part of it is the deadline pressures. we all know what it's like to write on deadline or do anything on deadline. and the justice is actually have some of that. they're exchanging drafts right now. they've, they've actually decided all the cases. i don't anticipate at this point there's going to be any switched vote, but sometimes that happens at this very last moment so there there they're engaged in dueling footnotes are going back and forth. and i presumed that we will get at least four or five opinions tomorrow, but we just don't know at this stage because they are up against their own internal deputies. >> so as of tuesday, 110 days, i'd past since the court had agreed to hear the trump immunity case and in the watergate case, took 54 days once it reached sidecar, this neural times opinion piece was sad about this, is that something rotten? something rotten about the justices taking so long on trump's immunity case, something run. i respectfully dissent from that view. i do not think something's necessarily really rotten or erroneous, or out of the ordinary. let's put this in perspective. watergate was a different era. the supreme court just doesn't function like that anymore. and watergate involved the sitting president under an active criminal investigation. i understand the stakes here, but let's put this in perspective. the trump immunity case, first of all, was the last case argued all the other cases that joan reference we're all argued many months before. second of all, it's completely normal to get this sort of case dump in late june sometimes into early july. this is when we get the big decisions. >> third of all, everyone relax. >> we are going to have this opinion within maybe tomorrow, maybe within a week, but sometime really soon. and finally, if you look at the actual timeframe here, the trump immunity decision was rendered and the district court. judge chutkan in december, to go from a district court ruling to a supreme court ruling in seven months is lightening speed. i understand everyone wants us as soon as possible. i understand the widely felt not universal, but widely felt desire to get this case back to the district courts. so if there's gonna be a trial can be held before the election. but i think people are maybe venting some anxiety inappropriately at the supreme court, by the way, if you want to vent it, somebody look at doj who took two-and-a-half years to charge this case, not the supreme court. that's taking a grant total a few months to decide sudden democrats would agree with that. i want you to listen just to remind viewers of that argument that was happening about what the trump team, the lawyers were saying about why donald trump deserves and their view immunity and what justice elana kagan was present them he littered the military to stage a coup and you're saying that's an official act. >> i think it would tabassum yoon. >> i think it would depend on the circumstances where there was an official act an official on the way you described that hypothetical, it could well be. i just don't know. again, it's a fact specific content germany's that answer sounds to me as though it's lead yeah, under my test, it's an official act, but that sure sounds bad, doesn't it is that argument going to convince me of the conservative justices? not necessarily, but it just goes to why this is taking, could be taking longer. and that's because the justices are grappling with should they actually delineate what would be an official act that could frankly protect the president from criminal prosecution and what he did and what actions he took with it might be regarded as private. so we know that that tied up the justices a lot during oral arguments and really important question here is when they rule one way or another in terms of president trump in whatever kind of immunity he can claim, are they going to get down into trying to define private versus official acts because that will make a difference when the case goes back to judge chutkan and there's also a major abortion case that we're also waiting for the question at hand is whether or not an idaho law that prohibits abortion supersedes a federal law that requires hospitals to provide an abortion to patients during an emergency who need what i mean just the supreme court just ruled kept the image of a approach john abortion pill essentially on the market because they ruled on procedural grounds in some ways republicans breathe a sigh of relief because they took that issue at least momentarily off the ballot. >> but if they rule in against the biden administration here, that this could be a problem for some republicans they fear, yeah, absolutely. >> well, and the dobbs anniversary is monday and so it is very politically hot topic at this moment and has been for the last two years, but especially right now, where democrats from the biden campaign, all the way down to a state-level. democrats are honing in on this topic of abortion and trying to remind voters again and again, where republican stand and their lack of their lack of ability to have a coherent, cohesive opinion. >> do we think the supreme court will try to figure out a way out of this, like the way they did, but they're not going to have yeah, they're not going to have that kind of procedural off-ramp when it comes to standing, it's really interesting to see from sort of the legal and the political pickle traditional roles are almost flipped here. i mean, we're talking about republicans dreading the possibility of an opinion that's restrictive on abortion. democrats sort of politically hoping for an opinion that maybe it goes the opposite way. it's like opposite world here, but i guess that's where we are. it shows just how, how abortion is such a top issue right now. one that the biden campaign and democrats really are eager to put a spotlight on to draw the contrast between the policy and the agendas of their political opponents here, just to go back to what you were saying, elie as well in terms of the politics of this, some of the anxiety that i think people are venting when it comes to some of these decisions that have to do what trump are directly connected to just how seismic time ming is politically for these decisions obviously, these delays have a legal process, but also just politically when you talk about both democrats and republicans, they're watching to see if these cases are going to get pushed back after the election. yeah. right. i mean, that would that could be the difference, but particularly for the federal cases, depending on he wins the election on whether or not there's any accountability for january. so you remember the court already last december rejected special counsel jack smith's request to hear that case earlier. >> and by hearing in an april which is a very tough month for the justices because does is ellie said come right after they've heard so many other oral arguments and are trying to write opinions april is their toughest month, and they could have they could have if they wanted to answer jack smith and the department of justice had heard as a result, these cases, no matter what happens, likely will not reach a verdict before november. all right. more to come coming up. new cnn reporting on american fears that israel's iron dome could crack historically, the soviet union killed traders i started to run to kgb cars, had come behind. >> i didn't know what to do. >> secrets and spies. a nuclear game sunday at ten on cnn. >> so this is pickleball is basically tenants for babies but for adults, it should be called willful tennis club on them like a pea we have nothing to worry about with e-trade for morgan stanley were ready for whatever gets served up till you get to working chest. >> i'd rather work on saving for retirement for college since we'd like to get schools that's pretty good. burn right? >> yeah, mana is it's important to note, of course, that has below is really a lot stronger of a group. then hamas is. and with that they have thousands and thousands of precision guided missiles and rockets and drones that in the event of a full-blown war with israel, they could start launching. of course, right across that northern border. and so us officials are concerned that if a war were to erupt between israel and hezbollah, then the iron dome, that key air defense system that israel has had in place for years now, could be vulnerable, particularly if hezbollah decides to launch a large-scale attacks at is real using precision guided munitions, as well as drones and hezbollah has already released a video of a drone purporting to strike an iron dome battery in northern israel. they also released footage from a drone up purporting to show sensitive israeli military sites inside the country. and so there are serious concerns here that if israel were to launch some kind of offensive against has bulla then this could create a war that would require israel to really have additional air defense systems that the us would provide. but still, there would be significant vulnerabilities. now, this is all coming to the fore at this point because the the us understands that israel is planning to shift some of its resources from southern gaza, where it has been engaging in intense fighting against hamas to northern israel along that border with lebanon in preparation for a possible offensive against hezbollah there. so the rhetoric on both sides is really rising here. tensions are rising at really exponentially over the last several days, the us working really hard behind the scenes to try to de-escalate situation. but there are still plans being made on both sides for a potential war here. manu, so much to take in there and a lot to follow. thank you for that breaking news. natasha bertrand, live from the pentagon. thank you. >> all right. in minutes, the first on cnn interview with a top biden campaign official about the president's plan to try to turn battleground on the blue i voted buttons grabbed my rainbow kitten. it's like your generation in has evolved past traditional political symbols. and there's room for everyone yeah puke rainbows, white, not flossing. well then add the wo of listerine to your routine. new science shows listerine is five times more effective than floss at reducing plaque above the gum line for a cleaner healthier mouth. this three feel the wo if you're shopping for a home realtor.com only shows you homes for sale source directly from professionals, meaning you can trust every home listing isn't realistic, don't all have to do that. >> not really. trust the number one app real estate professionals trust can the riva support your brain health? these 1,000 staffers doing well less in every campaign specific, especially this one is going to be very close. >> and when you do that, you have to meet voters where they are. and of course, the most important thing to do is to have people on the ground where voters live, talking to them about the issues that are important to them. but of course the biden campaign understands that you can't just do ads on tv. you have to get on the ground. and so today, we announced with hard 1,000 person that is are manning the offices in all of the swing state. so these individuals are on the ground that working every day they talking to constituents, and listening with constituents. and that bringing them the message that joe biden wakes up every day fighting to them, making sure that he's going to protect that democracy, protect their freedoms, and fight like hell to lower their costs and to make their life better. and that's what they, they have four. so when you build the infrastructure on the ground, you have the ability to actually talk to folks and talk to them in a way that helps bring the vote to joe biden let's talk about, let's start with the state of this race because obviously this has been a neck-and-neck race polling shows that even though down trump has been convicted on 34 felonies than liable for sexual abuse and even after janos six, this race is still effectively tied. some, many bowls other than the fox news one had in my head former president trump over biden. so why is the biden campaign unable to take advantage of any of this well, first of all, i don't i don't i don't agree with your premise the people america are going to very soon have a choice between donald trump who wakes up every day thinking about himself, thinking about his billionaire friends, and then things about how he's going to hurt people that he thinks have heard him. >> joe biden, which have every day fighting for the american people, making sure that we're going to protect people's freedoms protect democracy and lower cost. >> but why, why is this election? why is it so close? >> given all the things advantage, you might have? >> why is it so close? >> the election the election is five months away. >> elections take a lot of time. they take a lot of effort and they take a lot of work and you have to build a team to actually make that happen. that case is being made. as we speak polls come, polls go. the only one that matters is the one on election day. and i feel very confident that when people show up, they're going to choose joe biden because he fights for them every day in order to do that, you have to be on air. you gotta be on the ground. you have got to raise the money to do that, and that's what the campaign is in the process of doing that as we speak. >> so cnn's reporting president biden and his aides are gathering at camp david to prepare for cnn's presidential debate next week. so what is the president doing to prepare and how much? do you expect them to focus on trump's convictions well, first of all, as you know, joe biden has already debated donald trump twice and beat him before he got 8 million more votes and beat him in the presidency. >> and the president is going to show up in real time like he always does. you always have to prepare for these things. they're very important gordon the moderators, as you know, cnn is going to do the debate are really tough in the questions they're going to ask. and the president, as he should, is preparing for this just like he prepares every day to fight for the people of america the fact of the matter is a donald trump is not only a convicted felon, he also went bankrupt six times, and he has very difficulty in his personal life, in his business life, in his political life, by people, do you expect tip donald trump, people that he picked, that he picked quit and asked us not to do it. so the president is going to ask donald trump questions. he's going to want to know why he appointed three justices that he eviscerating roe versus wade and put women's lives in danger. he's going to ask donald trump why he threatened democracy of this company? country and help with the insurrection and now wants to pardon those folks. he's going to talk to him about why he continues to seek revenge and retribution and try to give his friends his billionaire friends and other tax break. and why he heard the country so badly when he was president. you can expect, are president to speak about those issues with donald trump i want you to listen to a claim that former president trump has made a few times about president biden ahead of the debate these gonna be so pumped up, he's gonna be pumped up, you know, all that stuff that was missing about a month ago from the white house? >> what happened? who drew left is somebody left it that somebody didn't pick up hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of cocaine. i wonder who that could upend. >> i don't know actually, i think it was joe what do you say to the former president who keeps saying that on the campaign don the khan, he's going to, he's going to talk trash like that all the top because that's what he does. the other day you may remember he was trying to question our president's mental acuity and he could not remember that the name of his own doctor so tell president trump, bring whatever he's got president biden will be standing there, ready farm. he beat him twice before he's going to beat him again so i want to turn to the issue of abortion because obviously that will come up undoubtedly in the debate and it's a huge issue in the campaign according to a new poll from kaiser family foundation, nearly third of women voters say this presidential election will have no impact on abortion access in their states. >> so i'm wondering what the biden campaign strategy do you have you done enough to engage voters on this issue or did the supreme court's mifepristone ruling actually hurt? that argument. that abortion access is a risk well, first of all, the important thing to know is a donald trump has spent his presidency and his tom hurting people, especially women he has taken credit for and he deserves credit for overturning roe versus wade by appointing three supreme court justices who did just that thing that got returned to the states. >> and many of the states are eviscerating women's right, not just on abortion, but on contraception, on ivf and some of the incredible extreme measures that are being exacted upon women across this country. in many states, the president biden is going to talk to president trump about that. that is just a fact, and women are being hurt. president biden believes in women. donald trump believes in states. that's fine. we should have that debate because the american people are clear that that decision should be left to between a wife, a mother, a doc after her husband, or partner of friends, that decision is for the woman to make, not the states. >> so i know the campaign ideally wants to win every battleground state, but take me to election day. you're looking at the map. what do you view? maryland drew is the absolute must win bellwether state in order for biden to stay in the white house well, first of all, this is gonna be a very close election, not just like the last one was, but the one before that and the one before that, everybody knows where the battleground states aren't. >> everybody is going to be on the ground trying to win every one of them. every one of them is an opportunity for osc. every one of them is a risk that's why you have to do everything that's why putting 1,000 people on the ground in these several battleground states are important. that's why talking about the fact that donald trump is going to seek retribution is important. that's why character and the fact that donald trump is a convicted felon is important and we're going to tell that story and every one of those dates and hope to win them all. >> all right meryl, andrew. thank you so much for taking the time and sharing your views. >> thanks, mano. good to be with you coming up next. we'll get reaction from trump-world about what we just heard from the mayor stayed to it the most anticipated moment of this election and the stakes couldn't be higher. the president and the former president, one stage two, very different visions for america's future. the cnn presidential debate. next thursday netted nine life. i'd cnn and streaming unmanned everywhere. but the seat to seat as levs again, you love your bike. we did tim, that's why we're american number one motorcycle insurer. the do you have to wedge it and everything i don't do that reminds me of my black the wolf was about the size of my new motorcycle. >> have you seen it by the way? >> they're going to need it monitors. they're going to need it there behind you. you're talking to the mayor about right? all those good things he was saying about, you know, he's a great surrogate, the biden biden campaign are lucky to have him on their team because they're going to need it in state after state after state. you see poll after poll after poll american just are biden, are buying what the biden campaign is selling they have greater faith and former president trump's ability to rectify this tragically flawed economy, to fix the border, the pores border to restore hoping america. >> people the answer the question, they're being asked the question, manu are you better off now than you were 40 years ago? and they are resoundingly answering know. and so the things that the mayor is talking about, we're gonna go out and talk about dobbs and doctor see those things are great if you could afford to fill your gas tank pay for food on your table, but real wages have lagged inflation dramatically during the biden administration. and people, people are concerned about those issues and don't have faith at present, the current president is gonna do anything to reverse that. so the trump campaign is dismissing the effectiveness of president biden's latest attack ad, highlighting trump's recent criminal conviction but as you see, david biden is inching pass trump in some of the pools yes, there's a margin of error, but there appears to be there could be some trend here. >> do you believe that are signs that the trump conviction is actually helping biden right now? >> how look, i don't think that's the case. i look is, you know, and i know this is going to be a close race america is pretty much a 50, 50 country, right in my home state of pennsylvania, the commonwealth, a landslide is 1% in 2016. we want that race by roughly 45,000 boats and 2020, the biden administration, they when they came to be by a whopping close to 80,000 votes. so this elections could be close at all those states in michigan wisconsin, pennsylvania, arizona so i don't by the fact that that one snapshot pole is a snapshot in time am i don't buy that a couple of polls, they're gonna make a difference here. i don't think that the, the conviction here in new york state or any place else is going to really dampen the support of president trump. there's a great editorial today in the wall street journal that talks about why republicans are flocking the dlj job, why independence are flocking to trump because of what they perceive as lawfare. >> well, what's the heading to the debate next week, week from today? what is the biggest concern you have about how donald trump performs at the debate? >> yeah, look, listen, i hope the president trump, i hope he looks forward. rate. windshield is bigger than the rear-view mirror and your car for a reason and i hope the former president kind of thinks about that analogy, so it doesn't matter talking about election day. you shay, you're saying he should not talk about the election being stolen. is that what you're saying? >> i know exactly. i think i think americans want to hear about the answer to the question. i think donald trump should walk out of the stage and say, joe biden, american people, do you feel that you're better off today than you were four years ago? i believe people are going to say no, one if president trump talks about his record of accomplishments during his time in the white house and talks about the things that he plans on doing for the next four years to close the border, to crack down on crime, to make americans feel more secure in their jobs and their financial life in their home life. i think he's going to be a winner on november 5th. i think that's what he needs to do and not talk about the past election in 20 yeah, i suspected he reiterates those false claims about an election being stolen it will be the biden campaign. there'll be very, very happy about that. we'll see how trump did performs n by the next week. all right, david urban, thank you so much for joining us and remind exponent, thanks for having me and a reminder. absolutely. we're just seven days away from the first presidential debate of the year hosted by cnn. don't miss president joe biden former president trump, go head-to-head. i doing 27. >> and of course that is at 9:00 p.m. eastern. >> thanks for joining inside politics in a new central starts after a quick break the assignments are going on. >> and the tornado here. >> i'm thinking i'm going to die. and i thought that was it. >> earth with liev schreiber, sunday at nine on cnn with cargo ruse, filter millions of listings to the land. the perfect deal only you could do things your way all the time imagine that get it with gurus from roger two. >> we there yet so many ways to save life, ready, while it happy. but 365 by whole foods market you've had thyroid disease for a long time and you've lived with the damage it caused. but even after all these years, restoration is still possible. learn how at ted help.com, protect against rsv with a wreck sv, a rexx v is a vaccine used to prevent lower respiratory disease from rsv. and people 60 years and older, a rexx v does not protect everyone and is not for those with severe allergic reactions to its ingredients, those with weakened immune systems may have a lower response to the vaccine. the most common side effects are injection site pain, fatigue, muscle pain headache, and joint pain. a rexx v is number one and rsv vaccine shots. rsv make it a wrexham do you ever worry we wouldn't get you enjoy this?
