Reporter farmers are used to volatility and both are now looking for ways to adapt, like downsizing or shifting to other crops. It is going to worry you. I aint going to let it get me down. Well survive somehow. Reporter as long as these Money Problems stop piling up. We just need to get a fairer price for what were growing. Reporter now, the usda announced 90million in grants to help farmers get their products directly to consumers. And, look, not every farmer is being impacted the same by this. Some have seen the price they get go up, but it is volatile, and there is widespread concern about these rising costs that just about everyone is dealing with. And, of course, kaitlan, the Uncertainty Heading into next year. And the uncertainty is the worst part of this. Gabe, thank you for joining us this morning. Have a good thanksgiving. You too. New day continues right now. Good morning to our viewers here in the United States and all around the world. It is thursday, november 25th. Happy thanksgiving happy thanksgiving, john. Im john berman. Brianna is off. That is chief White House Correspondent Kaitlan Collins and were so grateful youre here. Nice to see you. This morning, the nation is reflecting on the verdicts of the family of the Ahmaud Arbery once feared might never come. Three white men convicted of murder. We the jury find the Defendant Travis Mcmichael guilty. The judge read the word guilty 23 times, all three defendants guilty of murdering an unarmed black jogger. Their selfdefense claim dismantled by prosecutors. They now face the possibility of life in prison. And you heard someone become emotional there in the courtroom. After the judge read the first Guilty Verdict. That was Ahmaud Arberys father, and the judge had him removed as he read the rest of the verdict. Arberys mother was also in the courtroom and in tears as the verdicts came down. She later thanked supporters outside the courthouse. I thank each and every one of you who fought this fight with us. It has been a long fight. It has been a hard fight. But god is good. For those who marched, those who prayed and mostly the ones who prayed. Prosecutors insist they were confident that nearly all white jury would come to the right decision, and that the verdict was based purely on facts and evidence. The attorney for William Roddie bryan jr. , the defendant who videotaped arberys murder doesnt see it that way and plans to appeal. Ryan young in brunswick, georgia, this morning. Ryan, what does it feel like there now . Reporter yeah, good morning, john. Honestly i think people are relieved about this verdict. In fact, you had a lot of businesses that were concerned about what could happen if this verdict went a different direction. But at the end of the day, this was all about justice, especially for those inside the courtroom. I can tell you also when that prosecutor stepped out, she walked out to a bunch of cheers. I understand you have reached a verdict as to each defendant. Reporter the jury handed over a folder holding their decision, ending 11 hours of deliberation over two days. Count one, malice murder, we the jury find the Defendant Travis Mcmichael guilty. Count two, Felony Murder, we the jury find the Defendant Travis Mcmichael guilty. Count three, Felony Murder, we the jury find the Defendant Travis Mcmichael guilty. Reporter Travis Mcmichael guilty of all nine counts in the murder of Ahmaud Arbery, who was killed while jogging outside brunswick, georgia, last year. The judge asked arberys father to leave the courtroom after he cheered the first Guilty Verdict for mcmichael. Next the verdicts for mcmichaels father, gregory mcmichael. Count two, Felony Murder, we the jury find the defendant Greg Mcmichael guilty. Reporter he was found guilty on eight counts and not guilty on one count of malice murder. William bryan, the last defendant to hear his fate, he filmed the disturbing video showing arberys final moments from his pickup truck. Count three, Felony Murder, we the jury find the defendant william r. Bryan guilty. Reporter bryan was found guilty of six of the nine counts against him, but not guilty on malice murder. One Felony Murder charge, an aggravated assault with a firearm, as the judge read the convictions, arberys mother Wanda Cooperjones listened from the Public Gallery in tears. Outside the courthouse, supporters of the arberys family emotional about the decision. Today justice was served. Reporter the three defendants say they chased arbery down because they were trying to make a citizens arrest, claiming they believed arbery was behind a series of burglaries in the neighborhood after seeing a video of him trespassing at a Construction Site of a home in the weeks ahead of the fatal shooting. After their convictions, the mcmichaels and bryan left the courthouse wearing handcuffs. Meantime, the arbery family shared their gratitude with the crowd of supporters. I just want to say thank you, guys. Thank you. Thank each and every one of you who fought this fight with us. It has been a long fight. It has been a hard fight. You know him as ahmaud, i knew him as qwez, may he rest in peace. I dont want to see anybodys kid get shot down like that. Reporter Linda Dunikoski getting cheers as she had her turn to speak. The verdict today was a verdict based on the facts, based on the evidence and that was our goal, to before that to that jury so they could do the right thing. Reporter she told the jury in her closing that the defense claims of a citizens arrest were invalid because they had not witnessed a crime. And said they couldnt claim selfdefense because they instigated the confrontation. I wanted to make sure that the jury understood that the selfdefense case was absolute garbage, that was not what took place, and i was doing my best in the moment to dismantle it. Reporter President Joe Biden also weighed in on the outcome of the trial in a statement writing, nothing can bring mr. Arbery back too his family and to his community, but the verdict ensures that those who committed this horrible crime will be punished. While the Guilty Verdicts reflect our Justice System doing its job, that alone is not enough. And while arberys mother says she is thankful, another mourning in holiday for her son will be difficult. This will be the second thanksgiving well be without ahmaud. This is the first thanksgiving we will have with justice for ahmaud. Reporter his family says they hope arbery can be remembered for how he lived and not only for the way he died. Ahmaud was an amazing young man. He had a heart of gold, a smile that lit up a room. He was a giver. The world should know that ahmauds death was not in vain, and that we will continue to scream his name until we leave this earth. Reporter and, john, when we think about thanksgiving, we think about family and spending time with our loved ones and you think about that family having to sit there and look at that empty chair, what and al sharpton referred to for ahmaud and just the fact he will not be brought back. One thing that stood out to me as i was watching kevin gough walk back to his car, he riled things up, talking about black pastors, a black pastor from this community who hes known for quite some time, walked over, reached out his hand, and said i love you, kevin, they ended up hugging, it was one of those thins you can tell the power of what happened here and the relief in terms of having this all be over at this point. We know federal charges are coming for those three men. So this is in terms of the legal part for them, it is not over just yet. Ryan young, thank you for being our eyes and ears on the ground there and the work youve done. Happy thanksgiving to you. Reporter thank you. Happy thanksgiving. Joining me now is Wanda Cooperjones and her attorney lee merritt. Thank you for being with us. We saw you in the courtroom yesterday, as the verdict was being read. Take us inside there, that moment, what was it like for you to hear those words . I sat there patiently and heard the judge give the charges, and after the first charge, i heard guilty, i was overwhelmed with joy, because we finally got justice for ahmaud. The word guilty was the word that i wanted to hear 18 months ago. And we finally got that word of guilty. You talk about 18 months ago, and for me, the end of this trial made me reflect on the beginning of this all. The murder of your son, and then how long it took for this case to be taken seriously. What lesson have you learned from this . What i take away from this as mom is dont give up, continue fighting. Earlier in the case it took us 74 days, 74 days to get an arrest. And i knew it was my job as mom to really find out what happened to ahmaud. I prayed, god answered my prayers. So im just thankful sitting here this morning. Look, as we sit here this m morning, i certainly wish and hope this never happens to another mother again. I think we both know that it will. I do wonder if you think that the next time Something Like this happens, because of what happened in the courtroom yesterday, because of the work that youve done, that maybe it wont take 74 days. Im hoping and thats also my prayer that before individual society grabs shotguns and chases someone running down the street and kill them, that they will also think if they take those extreme actions, they will be held accountable. So maybe that will lead to a better direction. And lee, to you, counselor, you said you think this verdict in a way was an anomaly. What do you mean . Well, we know just by the sheer numbers that and unfortunately ive come to represent a great deal of families who have loved ones killed in tragedies like this, and more often than not there is no accountability. And that has been a concern of the organizing community, of what was called a referendum on the race in the past year, and that was something that was going to be put to the test in this verdict. And we got it, something that doesnt happen. I think we should Pay Attention to this case. See, who did what differently, if we replicate that work. It is interesting, because the defense, when the jury wasnt in the room, said things about black pastors that were clearly racially motivated. You had the defense, well, the jurors were in there, making physical references that i dont need to repeat right now. I think wanda heard them more than enough at this point. But that clearly were racially charged. But it didnt work. It didnt work. This jury, which was mostly white, didnt buy it. So what does that tell you, this morning, lee . You know, i like to think that the jury received the information to rely on the old vestiges of racism and bigotry in making their decision about whether or not the defendants actions were justified, and i think the jury answered pretty emphatically, they were in my opinion and we didnt have a chance to speak to the jury as we sometimes do after trial, but i think in the coming days well hear, they were probably as insulted as some of the American Public was about that strategy. Wanda, it is thanksgiving morning. And i wonder if you can reflect for a moment on what this day will mean for you without ahmaud. This is the second thanksgiving that my family and i will share without ahmaud. But this is the first thanksgiving that we can look at that empty chair and say we finally got justice for you, ahmaud. So it is lukike a bittersweet moment. Hes not here, but i know he can be very thankful we got justice for him here. What are you grateful for . What are you thankful for this morning, wanda . And how hard is it for you to find gratitude on a day like this . Im very, very thankful that god gave me the son of ahmaud, he gave me the assignment as ahmauds mom. Im very, very thankful for the people in the community, the people in the state of georgia, the people in the United States of america who stood with us, supported us through this huge long fight that we finally got the chance to say, we got justice for ahmaud. And the trial is over now, to an extent the country will move on. I know you wont. I know you will never move on from ahmaud. What do you want people to remember about him . Since the day we lost ahmaud, ahmaud implemented change. Hes brought about the Hate Crime Law in georgia. He caused that citizens arrest law to be repelled. And i want people to think of ahmaud as change. Ahmaud lost his life, but he didnt lose his life in vain. He implemented change already. Wanda cooperjones, we appreciate you being with us this morning. Were still sorry for your loss, we wish you a peaceful and safe and healthy thanksgiving. Lee merritt, thanks to you as well. Breaking overnight, two more Smash And Grab robberies in california. An apple store hit in the bay area, and in los angeles another nordstrom robbed by a group of suspects who pepper sprayed a security guard. These are the latest in a wave of these Smash And Grab crimes, targeting upscale Stores Across the country. Cnns nick watt with the latest. Reporter oak brook, illinois, a coordinated Smash And Grab swarm overwhelmed security at a Louis Vuitton store, more than a dozen people stole more than 100 grand in handbags and more. Downtown San Francisco this past weekend, another vuitton store and more hit by a mob. This is not a problem limited to San Francisco. Reporter just outside the city, burglars, arms filled with merchandise, made their getaway from a nordstrom saturday night, an employee was pepper sprayed during the brazen raid. Probably saw 50 to 80 people in ski masks, crow bars, bunch of weapons. Reporter they fled in ten cars. Three arrests were made, two guns recovered. Sunday night, another raid at another bay area mall. The thing were not used to is the groups willingness to use firearms and shoot at people. Reporter at the grove in l. A. A nordstrom was hit monday night, 5,000 worth of goods stolen, 15,000 worth of damage. This mall had beefed up security after the protests that followed the murder of george floyd. You saw these bad guys with 20 pound sledgehammers having a very difficult time to break a window because all of our windows have ballistic film on them. Reporter many more malls now beefing up security and california authorities promising action. These people need to be held to account. We need to investigate these crimes. We need to break up these crime ranks and we need to make an example out of these folks. Reporter in oakland, this weekend we will have tactical teams deployed throughout the city. Reporter as we saw with that San Francisco raid, even when cops are quick to the scene with a mob, many will still get away. Why is this happening right now . Well, the stores are fully stocked for the holidays and there is also a market for stolen goods this time of year. And some experts tell us the penalties for this sort of crime just arent high enough. Here in california, for example, if you steal goods worth 950 bucks or less, thats not a felony. Thats just a misdemeanor. Nick watt, cnn, los angeles. Joining me now with how these Smash And Grab robberies are impacting retail, consumer and retail expert eta herzog. How much is this costing retailers . So, were looking at around 759,000 per One Billion Dollars of merchandise sold. So for every 1 billion of merchandise, 759,000 of that is going to be stolen. Now, you multiply that, were expecting about a trillion dollars to be spent over the Holiday Season. Were looking at around 70 million worth of merchandise, potentially stolen, and nick had a point here, the Felony Thresholds are very, very theyre much higher now. So these Organized Retail Crime rings dont feel like they really have there is no real incentive, i shouldnt say incentive, but there is no real consequence when they go out and steal all of this merchandise, the felony, they can go they can walk away from it with just a misdemeanor as nick had said. So the bar has been lowered in terms of what type of punishment they would get for going into these stores. What are you hearing from retailers . Are they completely flabbergasted by this . What are they what is their thinking right now on having to deal with this . The unfortunate aspect of it and i hate this term, but it is a perfect storm post pandemic, i guess were still in a pandemic, but of people the labor force is minuscule. People dont want to go out and get jobs. Theyre having a hard Time Staffing these retail stores. And especially on the security side, so over the course of the last ten years, when you look at how much officers, police force have been out there, it has been steadily increasing. But the last year, it is decreasing. So even in just stores where they hire private security, it has been very hard to hire that private security, but also just police in general, just to protect the streets, it has been sparse. And the Security Guards that they do hire are getting pepper sprayed in the face by these people. So not just them, it is also the people who work in retail, who have been through so much over the last year and now having to deal with this on their plate as well. Hitha herzog, thank you for breaking this down for us this morning. Thanks so much. So if donald trump is so wealthy, why is the Republican National committee paying his legal bills . One Top Republican official is telling cnn, quote, nothing about this is normal. And the qanon curious, the martial law proposing Michael Flynn has a dangerous new conspiracy theory. Informed a Top Executive in the Trump Organization that he remains safe from criminal charges in its wide ranging investigation into the former president s company. At least for now. Joining us to talk about this, cnn political analyst and washington correspondent for the New York Times maggie haberman. Happy thanksgiving . Happy thanksgiving. I know youre exactly where you want to be this thanksgiving morning, talking to us. And are you. We all are, really. Nowhere i would rather be. What are we to take away from where the manhattan d. A. Is right now, as he is about to leave office . Yeah, it is a, john, a really important point that cy vance is on his way out. We had been hearing that vance hoped to make the charging decision related to former President Trump if there was a charge or not before he left. Thats obviously not happening, given the pace of this. Calamari is safe for now. It does not mean hes necessarily never going to be charged. They have a new special grand jury that is going forward. This will drag on for some time and the longer this drags on, the more questions it is going to raise about whether they are able to prove criminality to a significant degree at a trial, with the former president. And at the end of the day, i think that if donald trump does not get charged personally, even though his company is charged, he is going to see this as some kind of victory. And, maggie, i want to ask you about this reporting about who is paying some of the former president s legal bills, which is the Republican National committee. Typically supposed to be a neutral organization, and not favor one candidate potential candidate over another, clearly theyre paying some of his legal bills even though it doesnt pertain to when he was in office. So what are you hearing from people, because we know there are some gop officials telling cnn that nothing about this is normal. No, thats right, kaitlan. There is, number one, not shocking that donald trump will never spend a dollar of his own money that he doesnt have to. What is shocking is the degree to which groups who are not within his immediate orbit are going along with it and it speaks to the hold he still has on aspects of the party. Now, my understanding is that this was a Committee Vote within the rnc and there was more pushback than you might have expected. There were some people who did not want to go along with this. Well see if that number increases over time. But this is really unheard of. It is not unusual for a Political Committee to pay for legal fees, related to a sitting executive. So we saw that with governors, over the course of the last many, many years. We saw this with President Trump when he was president. He no longer is, and this has nothing to do with his presidency. This is pretty extraordinary. If youre ron desantis, or chris christie, or any of these potential 2024 candidates, what do you think . Youre, like, hey, rnc, you are helping politically someone who we may be running against for the nomination. This has been the concern the whole time about the fact that a lot of the Party Apparatus has ties to the former president. Again, not totally unusual when you have an outgoing president and the former president , former nominee of any party is the leader until there is another nominee that you dont normally seeing some like this. And you dont normally have so many fears of in a party and you know this, that the former president , i have always been very skeptical of the idea he was ever serious about forming his own party, no matter what he said at the time. You know, he let it go a few days later as he was leaving office he might form a third party, he doesnt have the organization or the ability to do that. But what he does have the ability to do is depress turnout and we among republicans and we saw that in the two Georgia Senate runoffs in january, and thats what Party Officials are afraid of. So, essentially, hes got his boot on their neck, still, and theyre not and there are members of the party who like him, but at the end of the day, this say highly unusual situation. It will be interesting to see how they navigate this going forward, amid the questions about whether or not he does or does not run. I want to ask you about these comments from mike flynn, of course, the former president s former National Security adviser, very well known, the comments hes making about the pandemic, and saying that it was kind of something that was engineered by the global elites. Not really language i guess you would say is entirely surprising, but what did you make of that, when you read the comments . Bluntly, kaitlan, i couldnt understand what he was talking about. It sounded as if he was saying the virus was engineered by shadowy forces and those shadowy forces may do another virus, but hes not really sure. You know, i understand there are a lot of people who want to write off what mike flynn says, but hes the former National Security adviser and some people hope he will run for office. So i do think it is important not just to look at what hes saying, but for the few outlets he actually agrees to give interviews to, hopefully they will at some point decide to press him on exactly what hes talking about. I think can we listen to that, so we can see exactly what it feels like to hear i couldnt make heads or tails. Lets listen to it. Little plan with covid didnt work because too many people, you kn you know, in the world of the digital warriors or the citizen journalists out there, they are fighting for the truth. So the truth has been exposed about all the Covid Tyranny were facing. I think what were going to see is potentially another type of virus that is imposed on the public and i hope that thats not the case, but ive seen some indications of that and some of the statements by some of these global elite type of people. Somehow hes blaming covid on the global elite and saying the global elite is going to bring forth some new virus there. Again, i think the important thing to focus on there, though, maggie, is, you know, Michael Flynn got into the white house. Im not talking about even his time as National Security adviser, he was there after the election. This is a guy who would get a meeting with the then president and im sure one way or another can still get a meeting with the guy who might be the next nominee. And thats something that really just cant be laughed off. No. Not only was he able to get into the white house, though he got in with other people, im not sure he would have gotten in on his own, there was some discussion in that infamous December 18th Meeting that the former president had with mike flynn and Sydney Powell and patrick burn, the ceo of overstock, who was there helping to talk about what the election opportunities were, and whether anything could be done about the fact that biden had won. There was some discussion about making flynn the chief of staff. So to your point, you know, this is not this is not a side show, this is a separate show, but it is very real, and there are people who follow flynn and who believe in what hes saying, but i want to reiterate, i have no idea what hes talking about. Maggie, i want to ask what your sources are saying about this idea that former President Trump and some other republicans are kind of dangling the position of House Speaker over Kevin Mccarthy. Clearly that is a position he wants to seek if republicans do Retake Control of the house. But there has been this idea floated by steve bannon, by mark meadows, that maybe former President Trump could be speaker of the house, which, of course, technically is possible, but seems not likely. But is this something that you think the former president is kind of holding over Kevin Mccarthy . I think at minimum the former president is enjoying this. And i know the former president was very frustrated and hes made that devery clear in his o statements that the 13 House Republicans voted in support of bidens legislative priority, the former president saw this as giving biden some form of legitimacy, you know, it did not used to be that you would see this level of railing against bipartisanship, but thats what mccarthy has been responding to. Meadows and mccarthy do not have a good relationship, never have, and bannon likes to burn it all down. So i dont think it is a surprise youre seeing this. I wouldnt take it as necessarily reflective of a deep desire on trumps part, but i think he believes it will keep mccarthy in line for what he wants, or could. And so what is the harm . I do not believe donald trump wants to be the House Speaker just in case that was not clear. Maggie haberman, happy thanksgiving. Happy thanksgiving, guys. So nice to see you. Appreciate it. And you. As fortunate americans prepare to feast on turkey and stuffing and pie later today, millions are still facing the struggle of Food Insecurity as they continue to feel the Economic Impact of the pandemic. Thats where our next guests step in. Trinity tran and north Texas Food Bank president trisha cunningham. Thank you, a, for what you do, b, for being with us this morning. Trinity, we had a chance to speak to both of you before. Im wondering if you can tell us how the need this year compares to last year, when we were really in the middle of the pandemic. Thank you, john. The demand is still high. Our numbers are lower than the recordbreaking lines we saw during the pandemic. But theyre still higher than our prepandemic levels. We have hundreds of families and seniors who still queue in line for hours each week for food. Food insecurity is an ongoing crisis. Low income people have been struggling prepandemic, and whether it is supply change disruptions or not, whether were in and out of inflation, one in five people in the korea town area where we operate live below the poverty line in los angeles county. Thats still roughly 2 million people, fighting Food Insecurity. What are you seeing, trisha . You know, exactly the same kind of thing there. We werent sure what we were going to see this thanksgiving holiday, what i can tell you is last year we distributed more food than we ever thought that we would. And right here in north texas, we have the fourth highest number of children who are food insecure in the whole country, which, to me, that is unacceptable and we wanted to make sure we could do things. And exactly what trinity said, were seeing a little bit lower than where we were at the peak. I can tell you, our thanksgiving distribution that we just did on saturday was higher than we even did last year. Wow, look, i guess we should be grateful for improvement, but still so much need, trinity. What challenges are you facing with inflation . Well, you know, as a walkup food bank, we serve the most disadvantaged populations. So a dollar is able to purchase less for communities who have been struggling for a long time, you know. People who travel on foot, stand in line with carts to receive groceries. It is a real tragedy that something as fundamental as food is out of reach for so many people. Most of the people in our line are not homeless. Theyre low income individuals. Theyre fearful about basic essentials, not being able to pay rent, not being able to for basic necessities like healthcare, you know, among many other things, food is a human right. And it is really a humanitarian responsibility that we ensure that everyone has access, whether were in or out of inflation. And, trisha, what sbis the bt way for people watching this, theyre at home, getting their thanksgiving meals prepared, what is the best way to help them do that . Best way is to be able to reach out to your food bank, here it is the north Texas Food Bank, and there is ways for you to provide funds, because we can multiply every dollar that is given to us and make multiple meals out of it. Volunteer. Volunteers are low right now because people are still concerned about coming back, but we have been open for volunteers and we rely heavily on volunteers to be able to get that. And just continue to advocate. We could not have done what we did this year if we had not had the support of some of these Government Programs that were going directly to families, because inflation is real. The increased gas prices and increased food prices is making it much more difficult for families to get back on their feet, even as theyre recovering. Were expecting about an 18month to twoyear tail on the economic recovery even after people get back to work. Well, trisha cunningham, trinity tran, thank you both for what you do, and people everywhere need to know Food Insecurity is still very real. Help your local food bank if you can. Thank you so much. So thank you, john. It is a beautiful moment, actor Andrew Garfield spoke to Stephen Colbert about his latest movie tick tick boom, where he portrays Jonathan Larsson, and really what he talked about at great length is losing his mother and how he deals with it on a day to day basis. This is all the unexpressed love, right, the grief that will remain with us, you know, until we pass because we didnt we never get enough time with each other, right . No matter if someone lives until 60, 15, 99, so i hope this grief stays with me because it is all the unexpressed love i didnt get to tell her. And i tell her every day, we all told her every day, she was the best of us. So for me, you know, i was able to step into this in a way where i could honor this incredible life of Jonathan Larsson and he was taken far too soon. He died at the age of 35 on the night of the first preview of rent off broadway of the new york theater workshop, some strange Twist Of Fate he was taken that soon. And this film is kind of to do with that, to do with this Ticking Clock we all have that we all know in some way deep down life is sacred, life is short and we better be here as much as possible with each other, holding on to each other. And for me, i got to sing Jonathan Larssons unfinished song while simultaneously singing for my mother. And her unfinished song. And im indebted to john and i and im indebted to linmanuel miranda. Im indebted to everyone who has brought me to this place so i can i can honor the most beautiful person that i ever experienced in my life, through my art urks , and use it as a w heal, use it as a way to sew up our wounds. Thats what you do every day, you sew up our wounds. You know, it was so touching and he was there with Stephen Colbert and colbert just let him talk, right . And he acknowledged, im going to break down, and Andrew Garfield said, and he said im so glad i have this grief, im glad i have this pain, because it makes me appreciate all the more how much i adored my mother. It is so deeply moving to hear that. I think the timing of it is so moving too, because the holidays are awesome. Thanksgiving is great. It is time to get back with your family, your loved ones, to gather around the table, but, you know, there can be a missing chair there, maybe there wasnt one the last time people did a thanksgiving. Thats something that was a really beautiful way of expressing something that often people deal with grief and say they cant wait to move past it, the time helps heal all wounds. He was saying he doesnt want to lose that, because it is a way to honor his mother, to honor whoever it is that you love. It was a beautiful perspective on grief from Andrew Garfield. We all have so much to be thankful for. Happy thanksgiving to you, kaitlan, so nice for you to come in and work this morning. Happy thanksgiving to everyone out there.
