Californias Gavin Newsom faces a Recall Election tuesday, and President Biden will be on hand to offer his support. Polls indicate newsom has about 58 support. Well, i will say that Recall Elections, particularly for governors have really been successful. It only happened twice. One of the two times was in the state of california in 2003. So, i think democrats certainly are not taking anything for granted here even though registered democrats out number republicans in California 2 1. Odds are in newsoms favor. But there is concern if he was in fact recalled it could reverberate across the country and allow republicans to make claims it was a rejection of liberal and progressive policies. Gavin newsom pursued very strict lockdowns when it comes to covid19 as well as vaccination requirements, a lot of which republicans have fought against. You know, he raised taxes. He has been supportive of immigration reform. You know that is not unpopular in the state of california. Quite a bit of conventction. Landfall, just about 12 to 15 hours away. Certainly not far from seeing the direct impacts of the storm system, and the Weather Service taking it seriously. Western louisiana through coastal areas of texas, brownsville, flood watches prompted in the region because the System Will Hug the coast and make Landfall South of houston later on Monday Afternoon and Monday Evening with 60 to 65 miles per hour at landfall. Should be just shy of category 1 hurricane, which is 73 miles per hour. That is not going to be the concern with the storm system. It is the amount of rainfall. The forecast models waivered back and forth with how much rain will come down but at least seven to eight inches, some could push ten plus inches and see pockets of heavy rainfall around the houston metro. These urban environments, that leads to a significant risk for flash flooding. Notice the forecast in houston. Three consecutive days of heavy rainfall before all is said and done and bring back the normal thunderstorms.
