Theyre having a very difficult time getting ahold of this even though kentucky falls in the middle of vaccinations. It is about the total population, about 50 of the population here is vaccinated. So theyre doing okay compared to other states. But that Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/delta-variant'>Delta Variant is just so contagious. It is making people very, very sick. We are in Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/morehead-kentucky'>Morehead Kentucky at saintclair Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/health-care'>Health Care, a hospital staffed for 75 patients and they have on any given day 90 to over 100 patients. So their staff is way overwhelmed right now. The Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/national-guard'>National Guard is here helping out. Federal Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/task-force'>Task Force is here as well helping out at this hospital. That tent that you see behind me here, that may be opened up so that either to help the Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/emergency-room'>Emergency Room or to give the monoclonal Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/antibody-treatment'>Antibody Treatment which is helping some people who have the virus to keep them out of the hospital. And what tear what theyre t to do more than anything is deal with the students. About a fifth of the schools across the state have had to close down because they have outbreaks in those schools. He wants a wider Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/mask-mandate'>Mask Mandate across the state and courts struck that down. So theyre trying to come up with some sort of plan where they could put those simple, yes, a mask is a pain if the butt oftentimes, but simple but effective measures in place to keep those cases down. Let not forget that we have specialized care being offered in the icus. These nurses and these icu physicians have spent years taking care of patients. So if they are mentally distressed, nurses are walking out of jobs because they are tired of this pandemic that is playing over and over again mostly in unvaccinated people. So i think that good things could come out of it. The Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/bottom-line'>Bottom Line though is it is up to you and i, we have to get vaccinated to prevent these surges and people from dying on a daily basis. Based on where were at now, we know that the president this week is set to give a major speech talking about the next phase in this pandemic. Where we go, he is expected to address what could be done, perhaps should be done in schools. What do you think needs to change at this point . I think that we need to follow all of the rules that weve been talking about for the last 12 to 18 months. I think schools could open safely. But we have to include all parameters, good ventilation, testing, at least two or tHree times a week, distancing as much as you can, all of the teachers and principles must get vaccinated. What is really sad, erica, is even Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/health-care'>Health Care providers, and im calling out my own colleagues. There are so many of us that could get the vaccine, that should have gotten the vaccine that are not getting the vaccine. So i think the responsibility falls on 12 years and older, anybody that is eligible to get the vaccine should get the vaccine and protect the children below 12 years of age that cannot be protected at this time. I think the Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/frustration-sore'>Frustration Sore follow people and likely yourself included is what we know what needs to be done. We know the vaccine works and Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/vaccine-shaming'>Vaccine Shaming does not work. Does not make them want to go get the shot. Talking to people they trust does. We know that masks work. In terms of the frustration, we look at where were at some 18 month into the pandemic and knowing what works and seeing this resistance to it, is there any tool that you could think of that has not been used at this point to help collectively get more people to be a part of this process to conquer this pandemic . Yeah, that is a tough question to answer. But ill do my best. I think that it is really all about physicians, especially trusted parties like ourselves. Taking an extra five minutes, i see 20 patients aday, erica, and it does take an extra six, seven minutes to ask each patient why they are not getting vaccinated. You cannot shame them or embarrass them. Most people that are not vaccinated, they are not antivaxers they have just questions and concerns. On a daily basis i convince four or five people to get vaccinated. So i think it is the responsibility of Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/people-like-us'>People Like Us to do that. And ultimately also giving people some light at the end of the tunnel. If we want to downgrade covid to a seasonal flu, 60,000 people die from the flu every year, we have to get vaccinated and wear the mask and normalize wearing masks. Causing great Bodily Injury and causing death. He eventually pleaded not guilty to those charges. And i do want to mention just a few months ago, Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/paul-murdoch'>Paul Murdochs uncles were on good Morning America claiming that paul, after this Boating Accident, received several online tHreats, although they believed that these tHreats were not credible. Now, two years later, in june of 2021, after this accident, Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/paul-murdoch'>Paul Murdoch along with his mother margaret, they were found shot to death outside of their home. In fact it was Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/alex-murdoch'>Alex Murdoch who arrived home to find them dead. And the murderers at this time remain unsolved. He talked about mistakes that he had made. Late Last Night the Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/law-firm'>Law Firm that he worked for, actually the Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/law-firm'>Law Firm that his family started in 1910 released a statement essentially saying that murdoch was pushed out of the firm for allegedly misappropriating money. So we spoke with two sources in Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/south-carolina'>South Carolinas legal community that are familiar with this case and they characterize the am of money that was allegedly missing as substantial. One source told us that it is, quote a ton of money. Another told us that it is over 1 million. But right now it is still unclear whether saturdays shooting where Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/alex-murdoch'>Alex Murdoch said that he was shot, the allegations of misusing money and the double homicide, it is unclear whether all of these things are related that point. But were still following up on some leads and well keep following up on that this week. Absolutely. And as i understand it, no rests, no suspects or witnesses at this point in that double murder from june. But the investigation according to Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/law-enforcement'>Law Enforcement into the murders of maggie and paul, has led to some new evidence involving another episode, a 2015 hitandrun involving a teen. What more do we know about that . Sure. So Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/steven-smith'>Steven Smith was a 19yearold man who was found on the found dead in the middle of a road with his head, major head wound, in 2015. It was ruled a hitandrun and ever since his death in 2015 rumors have swirled that the Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/murdoch-family'>Murdoch Family was somehow connected to his death. And tHroughout their investigation, Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/police-case'>Police Case rumors connecting the family to his death. But weve noticed from police documents that none of those rumors were ever really confirmed. So shortly, a couple weeks after Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/paul-and-maggie'>Paul And Maggie were found shot to death in islandton, the state Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/law-enforcement'>Law Enforcement agency announced that they were opening up an investigation into his death. They have not clarified what exactly they found other than saying that it is based on information gathered during their investigation into the june double homicide. So there are some connection there with information that they have learned. But they remain tightlipped on what exactly theyve learned about the death of Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/steven-smith'>Steven Smith in the wake of this June 7th double homicide. So it is another thing that if youre putting up on the board as were looking at all of the different events that have transpired and as amara laid out there were charges pending involving that boating crash, that Boating Accident in 2019. Paul murdoch was awaiting trial as i understand it. There has been a lot written about just how prominent the Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/murdoch-fall-family'>Murdoch Fall Family is within the community. Is there any sense that that prominence has impacted any of the investigations . See, that is really why i think this story has gripped this state so much. I think that there is a lot of Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/trepidation-and-suspicion'>Trepidation And Suspicion not only about these ongoing investigations but also the family itself. So like you just said, you talk about their prominence, for 86 years tHree generations of this family served as elected prosecutors in the five county fourth judicial circuit which is where my newspaper is located. So there have been rumors about that. At this point we think it is best to stick with what we reported. The story is received a lot of interest and obviously there is a lot of rumors going on around right now at this point. There are a lot of accusations but right now were sticking to what we reported. This is a hard line exclusive taliban government. The prime Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/minister-hassan'>Minister Hassan a key figure, hes emerged as Deputy Prime Minister and tipped as foreign minister. He was in charge of the negotiations between the united states and the taliban and Inter Afghan Negotiations and the afghan government here at time in doha. And above all, i think it is absolutely key, haqqani has been announced as interior minister. Now hes one of the family heads of what is known as the haqqani network. So hes himself under u. N. Sanction over alleged terrorism activities. His network is part of the taliban but is semiautonomous within it effectively. The successful Terrorist Attacks against the afghan government but also against civilian targets for many, for two decades were often carried out by his network which is the dominant force of the taliban between kabul and the pakistani border heading east tHrough jalalabad and his organization has had connections to Href='https://vimarsana.com/news/al-qaeda'>Al Qaeda and he is going to be a very difficult figure for people to negotiate with over the future movement of the american citizens if and out of afghanistan and the movement of afghans who might want to emigrate following the taliban takeover because he is under u. The counter to that argument, because i have heard from some speculatively here in doha, is that indeed the taliban have some serious interior issues on their plate. They dont have a particularly effective intelligence system.
