They will protect you and keep you out of hospitals and keep them from dieing and that is the push here. A little bit of a sniffle, little bit of a kocough, not a g deal. Then for people who have conditions like the efficacy of masks. They had a mask mandate. They have 100 students in quarantine because of an outbreak there. Talk to people about the necessity of masks and the effectiveness there. This would seem to counter that argument. Theres some confusion there. Just like vaccines, masks arent perfect. Its about layered mitigation. There are things in place to help reduce. We know that masks are effective in reducing transmission. They are completely 100 safe and i think any student going Back To School should be wearing a mask. K12th grade, every single student should be wearing masks, thats the best way to protect. It is about layered are okay with it, it will markedly reduce the chance of kids getting it. Just a little over 50 . Is it too late to hit Herd Immunity . We dont know. Delta can infect people who are fully vaccinated. Fully vaccinated people can have high viral loads that they can pass to others. Its hard to know whether Herd Immunity is going to be achievable. We have to push harder with vaccines. Thats what delta is telling us, we need to particular a new takt with how were going to get people there. They have to stand up. Theres No Doubt that will protect them and our communities. Im hoping we can get it for younger kids. I have two kids between 5 and 12 and i want them vaccinated too. There are several states who are having some real issues and concerns in hospitals right now. Icu units that are really becoming full in florida, louisiana. Where i work, our rates of sick covid patients are fairly low. Nothing like what we saw last year. Nothing like what we saw in the winter. Thats because our Vaccination Rates are high. Were not strained. Our hospital is operating at a pretty good pace and were doing well. I have friends in other parts of the country that are not seeing that.
