Of course some State Attorneys General may disagree, but mrks doctors are on board. I really wish that more businesses would be doing this because otherwise it is hard for those of us for example who are parents of unvaccinated children if were told that we have to come back to work in person and be sitting shoulder to shoulder with other people who are unvaccinated and we dont know whether they are carrying covid, that is dangerous for us. So this is about protecting Peoples Health and safety. And these Vaccine And Testing mandates are the direct result of too many americans choosing not to get a covid shot. Takes preventable problem, completely preventable situation if everyone understood that personal freedom is not an excuse to endanger others. 99 of covid deaths are among the unvaccinated. If you look back on the history of this vaccine and its development, there has been the assertion of politics from the beginning. It is not helpful to encourage people to avoid vaccination. We must be encouraging them to be vaccinated. All this as more than 50 major medical groups call for Health Care employers to mandate covid vaccination for all workers. But at that moment, i was unable to process what had happened because we were physically spent. Once i had time to sit down and put it all together, it was just so overwhelming that here we are giving so much and putting our lives on the line to protect democracy and keep it. And were being called racial slurs, traitors. Im doing my job. It is my duty to hold my line, to protect people inside. But yet im the Wone Being Blamd for being a traitor. Even though they are the ones doing the treasonous stuff. Sometimetime for three ques three minutes. Reporter we know the testimony will be powerful, we know there are questions about how white nationalist groups organized, we know how Law Enforcement Wasnt prepared, how the former president responded or didnt respond for so long. What can we learn from these hearings we dont know already . Reporter there are actually quite a few Trump World officials who werent very heard from yet. Mark meadows, Kevin Mccarthy, Jim Jordan even, a number of people in the White House who could shed critical light not only on January 6 but the leadup to the attack. Weve seen evidence of how far trump would go to try to overturn the election, but exte it is. And so that is what the Committee Members will wrestle with, whether to subpoena these officials and try to get them to testify. But as of right now, they are keeping that option on the table. No matter how many times i hear those Law Enforcement brave Law Enforcement people talk about what happened to them that day, im shocked. It doesnt get any easier to hear about the assault on american Law Enforcement. It is just so important to get that story out again as much as possible. And that is why it shouldnt be a partisan issue, right . It has been seven months now. American democracy was on the line that day for a president ial certification. It is still on the line. But in the meantime there has been so much gamesmanship, so much political bickering. We focus on the Back And Forth so much, do you think the public has any sense of the meaning of what actually happened that day . I think that is why Todays Hearing is so critical. It is really going to set the tone for this entire investigation. That is why investigators decided to put those brave Police Officers who defended the capitol, you know, defended my life, i was in the capitol that day as well. They want the public to know exactly what violence occurred, they want to know the horrors of what these officers went through. And that is especially important because of the efforts to whitewash or downplay January 6 happening in the republican party. So that is why Investigators Today is about putting facts on the table and letting american people hear first hand what these Police Officers experienced. And so looking forward here, what will constitute success for this committee . I think that the challenge and Big Question for democrats and Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, the two republicans on the panel, is whether they can break through on the other side, to the republicans and enmayb even maybe the middle section of america. Opinions have softened about what has happened that day. Obviously as we mentioned there are these efforts to whitewash January 6. Donald trump is continuing that as well. And so i do think that the Big Question is whether they can break through in any way. And one way speaker Nancy Pelosi is trying to do that is by the addition of those two republicans to the panel hoping to bring up even more bipartisan legitimacy to this investigation.
