Few hours from now. The impact of the storm already being felt. This Morning Coast Guard crews are searching for nine people still missing off the coast of Key West after 15 others were rescued. Our team is Tracking Elsa as it approaches landfall. Lets begin in Clearwater Beach, florida, where Randi Kaye is standing by. Randi, tell us what the conditions are like there. Reporter good morning, jim. Things have improved. We are seeing just a little bit of sunshine. Finally this Morning Weve had heavy rains and heavy winds throughout the night. We are expecting winds of about 50 to 75 miles per hour, and we got them. But let me just show you what the scene is here right now. The waters are still a bit choppy. These docks behind me, they had people on them yesterday and they were really enjoying the time in the water. Not yet today. The boats out there in the distance, they were tied up overnight. We werent sure they were going to be here this morning. We were told they actually moved them from the marina and anchored them out there so they wouldnt get hit by other boats. It was actually safer for them out there. Theyve also opened memorial cause way, which is the main causeway from the mainland over here to Clearwater Beach in Sand Key where we are, because they expect people will want to come to the beach today. Well see if the weather is good enough. Lots of rain overnight. They were expecting about 4 to 6 inches. There was some flooding in some of the streets here in Clearwater Beach and around the area in tampa. Some trees down on vehicles as well, but Clearwater Police says no major Power Outages and no major problems. But we were under a Hurricane Watch in Panelis County along with 33 other counties in the state of florida. There were concerned about tornadoes as well and Storm Surge because it was happening. It came in about 2 00 a. M. To this area which at High Tide was 3 00 a. M. It was a Collision Course to cause some really serious problems, jim. Randi kaye, thanks so much. Ams Meteorologist Chad myers tracking the storm from our weather center. So, chad, what threat does the Storm Pose as it moves inland . An awful lot of rain, jim. This turned into a wind maker. The surge was 2 feet. There may have been coastal areas or Marsh Areas that did pickup more. 65 miles per Hour Close to cedar key. The heavy rainfall has been ft. Myers, cape coral. Thats where the flooding is happening now, and there is more rain on the way. This is what the Radar Looks like right now. And most of the storm is still offshore, but part of the Eye Wall is now making landfall. Ive been watching some video from a Hurricane Chaser named eye cyclone. He is in cedar key. The wind is gusting 70. No question what im seeing on his video. This storm still has wind and it has rain and it has the potential to knock down a lot of Power Lines, trees, Power Lines and such. If you look at the numbers on land, ocala with a gust of 76, thats not bad. The center gets close to gainesville, there will be more damage here. Look at the rainfall around ft. Myers and such. Regional, all the way down the Southwest Florida as we call it. There have been between 6 and 12 inches of rain that have come down since yesterday. And now more rainfall is going to spread all the way Up Towards charlotte charlotte, Newport News and hampton rhodes. This Storm Isnt going to die. It isnt going to lose its punch. Its close to the water, it will turn to the atlantic ocean. Well have 40 per mile winds all the way Up The low country of south carolina, north carolina, and all the way down even into brunswick, georgia, Tivy Island and such. This Storm Isnt done yet. Theres a lot more to it, a lot more damage still to be done. Hurricane Center Yesterday told us theres no such thing as just a tropical storm. Jim . No question, chad myers. Randi kaye in florida, thanks to both of you. Another story were following this morning, new court records offer a look into secretive Extremist Group the fbi infiltrated after the January 6 insurrection. A bible study group, it discussed interest in the american civil war, and testing homemade bombs. Joining me from washington, how far along was this plot and how seriously is the fbi taking this group . Reporter according to fbi documents, it got far enough the man at the center of the Case Wong is accused of having a stash of weapons and he intended, according to the fbi, to create and test molotov cocktails. As far as procuring weapons it got pretty far. There was a question about surveilling the capitol looking for weaknesses. This is all part of the Fbi Case Building against this man. Here is the break down of how this all happened. These are newly disclosed criminal cases against a man named wong. He attended what members call, quote, bible Study Meeting in alexandria in february when members discussed among other things secession, weaponry, combat training. This was all uncovered, jim, because an under Cover Fbi Agent infiltrated this group. At one meeting under Cover Agent saw five boxes filled with about 50 glass bottles and agent Heard Wong and another person talking about what they could fill them with to make explosives. Wong and the other under Cover Agent discussed Testing Moment made bombs. The time line, jim, is significant because what the fbi says is dwong got into the capitol on January 6. He was disguised. According to the fbi wearing all black. He was also wearing a mask to shield his face. He allegedly told an Under Cover metropolitan Police Officer that he was disguising himself as antifa. That is significant because hes facing charges for his role in the insurrection, but it didnt end there, jim. This Fbi Investigation lasted months. Again, they were infiltrating this group in february. They were still learning more about their intentions by june. Its important to note that this man is not charged with any cases that any charges that may have originated after January 6th. Hes only charged in the insurrection case. He has not been formally indicted. He has not entered a guilty plea. His attorney would not respond to a request from cnn. But what it shows, jim, is there is this lingering inclination to i guess leave the united states, overthrow the government. These Extremist Ideas are still present. This is the very thing the u. S. Capitol police are worried about. No question. Antigovernment, and many of them very heavily armed. Whitney wild, thanks so much. Joining me now to discuss, National Security analyst, former Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security during the obama administration. Juliet, great to have you on to talk about this. This was one of the concerns of many about January 6, was that it gave us a vision into groups like this, Extremist Groups in this country that have this antigovernment, you know, conspiracy driven kind of mentality. Tell us how serious you think this particular plot is . Well, this particular Plot Looks like it was more than a bunch of guys talking around a table with beers. They had been purchasing and planning under the I Love under the guise of a bible study group. And i think it just does show that many of the terrorist and insurrectionists of January 6 left January 6 believing that it was a victory. In other words, even though they did not sort of kill Nancy Pelosi as they might have intended. They lived another day. And thats sort of the benefit and the importance of these prosecutions because even though they didnt happen on January 6, over six months, nine months, 12 months, keep them scared. Keep them wondering because a Terror Group that is concerned about its own survival is unable to recruit and get money to organize, and thats exactly what youre seeing. But no one should believe that these people sort of ended their ideas or trump tells them and the gop supports it. The violence that is part of the Big Lie in other words, Donald Trump was denied a second term, and they believe and they are going to fight for it. These prosecutions are such a key part of our Counterterrorism Effort right now. No question. And its notable, right, they still view it as a victory. Its the way terrorists think. The fear is the objective. I wonder, you have more than 500 charges now issued to people who took part in that. You have something like this exposed after the fact. How much of a vision has it given Law Enforcement into these groups to allow them to assess both the scope, but also to, you know, get a handle, right, on some of these groups . Yeah, i would put the January 6 defendants into three camps that the fbi is looking at. Were sort of at the best camp right now. The first is what i call the noisy trespassers. Im not forgiving them. They should suffer a penalty. These are people who got swept up, wanted to see trump and ended up in the capitol. The second is the violent trespassers, those who were breaking down doors, harming Police Officers. Those people should face and are facing real jail time. They are they harmed people and property. The third is the organizers. Thats where we are now and thats why it seems like there is a lot more activity. Those are people who organized it, may have had communications with people in the White House, may have had communications with people on the hill. They were planning, call it what you will, but an insurrection essentially. Thats where we are right now. Thats why youre seeing a lot of these Plea Deals out of some of these terror organizations. These guys are facing real time and they are turning on each other. I always smile when i say that. They are now paranoid. They dont know who is telling what. So that will lead others to come forward and say, look, i had a Phone Call with this congresswoman, or i was in touch with the White House, or with roger stone, or whatever the case may be. Yeah, prisoners dilemma. We know the fbi considers these domestic Terror Groups, the biggest current threat to the u. S. Over international terrorism. Just describe briefly the level of concern among Law Enforcement. So, i talked to a lot of these folks. I am still involved with them, so i would put it sort of 80 20. 80 of the focus is on white Supremacy And Insurrection terrorism. And the reason why is, of course, its not just in d. C. 50 states, 50 governors, mayors, all election these secretaries of state are facing threats. All of these folks are sort of the target of this white supremacy group. Thats the basis of our democracy so its a fight for our survival. I dont mean to minimize the foreign Terror Threat. Its still is there, we fight it abroad. Nonetheless, even the foreign Terror Threat doesnt seem existential as the way that this domestic Terror Threat supported by the gop and their Talking Points is. Alarming assessment. Julia, thanks very much. Thanks so much, jim. Breaking news this hour, the president of haiti, Jovenel Moise has been killed overnight in his own home. A shocking chain of events there. Tell us whats the latest we know. Reporter just extraordinary. We know that it was 1 00 a. M. When armed men got into that private residence. The president himself killed, his wife shot, but not mortally wounded as we under it so far. Rather hospitalized, jim. An extraordinary series of events overnight in a country that was already facing such deep divisions politically, socially, economically. For months weve seen protests against the very rule of moise who was killed overnight. What weve heard, we heard from the acting prime minister, put in place in his power year rule, the 7th was about to take over. Thats how unstable politically the country had become. With accusations he was trying to tighten his grip on power and stay longer than he should have. A great deal of opposition to his rule. A great deal of chaos in the country caused by the insecurity of the rising power of gangs that had taken over some parts of the capital to such an extent, jim, a few months ago a State Of Emergency had to be put in place in some of those neighborhoods to keep them under control. Until we get more details about who precisely is behind this, it is at the very he least a measure of how insecure haiti has become. And the First Lady injured as well. Thanks so much. Still to come, the violent moments Police Officerer Michael Fanone was attacked on January 6. Capitol rioters stealing his badge and his radio. Hes responding this morning. Plus New Details about how House Minority Kevin mccarthys plan for republicans on the January 6 Select committee, well have an update on that next. Also ahead, were live in surfside, florida, where cnn has been allowed close access to the debris, the site of the Building Collapse. Well show you that. Please stay with us. The fbi is now releasing a group of disturbing new videos which shows rioters violently attacking police during the January 6 capitol insurrection. Included in these new releases, a frame by Frame Break down of the moment prosecutors say that one rioter stole d. C. Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanones badge and radio. Thats what youre seeing on the screen now. Officer fanone was beaten with a flag pole, tased at the base of his skull. He suffered a Heart Attack and a traumatic brain injury. Fanone reacted to the new video on cnn New Day this morning. I think Thats Part of the job of Law Enforcement. We encounter traumatic events on a daily basis. Ive got 20 years of Law Enforcement, of compartmentalizing events, you know, maybe not this extreme, but, you know, definitely traumatic events which prepared me. Whats been most difficult for me is, you know, postJanuary 6, seeing people downplay or just lie about the events of that day. Especially for, you know, political purposes or for their own personal gain. An officer tased at the base of his skull. The video of the attack on fanone in court was used in court against ryan sivik. Republican House Leader Kevin Mccarthy is close to naming five gop lawmakers to sit on the select committee investigating the January 6 insurrection. Multiple gop sources Tell Cnn that mccarthy debated whether to appoint members or just boycott the select committee altogether. Not bother to investigate as a way to paint the select panel as partisan. He did ultimately decide to put republicans on the committee to play defense, try to change the narrative of a probe that could implicate former President Trump as well as other members of the party. Joining me now cnns melanie on capitol hill. So, melanie, who are the contenders . We spoke about this. There was talk of putting pitbulls on the committee or perhaps Middle Of The Road republicans to lend some credibility to it all. Where did he land . Reporter well, jim, my sources are telling me that Kevin Mccarthy wants to strike a balance between some of those bombthrowing trump allies whom he feels can launch a vigorous defense against the president , but also some of the more pragmatic moderate members who have expertise in relevant Subject Materials or can have some sway with middle america. Now, in that first camp were considered Jim Jordan is probably a Top Pick and top contender for this job. He had a very similar role during trumps impeachment. He was moved to the house intelligence committee. I am told mccarthy is likely to steer clear of Fire Brands like matt gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene Who Mccarthy feels he Cant Control and could potentially undermine the gop strategy. When it comes to the more moderate members, the challenge is they want nothing to do with the panel. It is a politically tough assignment. This is likely to drag into the election year. The pool of People Mccarthy is pulling from is a little more limited. Understood. Well be watching. Thanks very much. Reporter thank you. Cnn is given close look at the surfside site. Tropical Storm Elsa not necessarily slowing down the Search Efforts at the site of the Building Collapse in florida, despite the weather, teams on the ground, theyve been working in full force 24 7, even through heavy winds and rain. Cnn was granted an upclose look at the site of the collapse. Our Leyla Santiago is in surfside. Leyla, im curious what the feeling is among first responders, but also what you saw when you were close up on that site. Reporter well start with your first question, jim. I actually just spoke to someone from the Task Force. And he told me that there is very much still a sense of determination among the Search And Rescue crews that are out there right now. They understand very well that they represent hope for these families, and they believe that the harder they work, even if its been 14 days excuse me, 13 days, that the harder they work, that the closer they can bring these families to some sense of hope or some sense of closure. Now, we are expecting an update from officials in about two hours, but i can tell you that as we were closer to the Building Collapse site, that you can see just above my shoulder, you can see many of the same things that you see from here. You see the concrete. You see the wire. But when you get closer, you have a deeper sense of understanding that its whats underneath that is really causing agony for these families that are waiting to get a better idea of where their Loved Ones are or for some of the survivors who know that they have very cherished and precious belongings in that pile. So, again, well get a better idea as to Search And Rescue efforts at 11 00 when officials have a briefing. But we also have learned today that a safety Task Force has been established to review the laws that govern the Florida Condominium Development industry. We also expect today that the surfside mayor in the next few hours will be signing a letter that will go out to all surfside residents that have minimum stopgap measures that will help them have very basic confidence to make sure that their building is not obviously unsafe in any way. Jim . Leyla, question for you. Have officials there provided any clarity about the discrepancy between the figure above 100 folks still unaccounted for, but the mayor said yesterday that perhaps the number of people who were actually confirmed to be inside the building at the time is lower, around 70. Have they explained that discrepancy . Reporter right. We asked that very yquestion, jim. What the Mayors Office told me was the number that they have identified and that they believe were in that condo because they have been able to make them sort of contact, have some way of verifying that. The larger number is takes into account any sort of report that came in. So anybody that called the hotline and said, you know, i have not heard from this person, but never provided any sort of information or even contact to followup on. So theyre following every lead, but what they have confirmed of the people who were actually inside that building is the reason there is a bit of a gap in those numbers. Understood. Leyla santiago on the scene, thanks very much. Theres a highly contagious Delta Variant of covid19 now makes up more than half of all new Coronavirus Infections in the u. S. This according to the cdc. In the state of missouri, conditions so dire they are providing a Surge Team to help support. Missouri reported the second highest number of new covid infections in this country, only behind arkansas. Not surprisingly, arkansas has one of the lowest Vaccination Rates in the country. Health officials say people living in these low vaccination areas are more at risk. Dr. Anthony Fauci Warning that if you have not been vaccinated, now is the time to do it. We have more vaccine than we need. I mean, we have vaccines for Everyone And Anyone who needs it and there are places in the world where people would do anything to get vaccine. And yet we have substantial proportion of people in very specific regions of the country who just do not want to get vaccinated despite the fact we have a significant threat. So if ever there was a reason to get vaccinated, this is it. Here to discuss, dr. Paul saks, Infectious Disease at brigham and womens hospital. Nice to have you back, dr. Saks. I wonder if you can put the Delta Variant in context for us. Its not the first new variant of Covid Weve seen. The uk variant, south africa, brazil, and they have all been pretty well controlled by the vaccine. Is there something particular about delta that concerns you and puts it in a different category than those other previous variants . Yeah, this particular variant seems to be the champ, unfortunately, as far as contagiousness, and so its about 60 to 70 more likely to be transmitted. So the kind of activities that maybe before wouldnt have led To Transmission of the virus, now could because of delta. It does have some of the vaccine evasive properties of some of the other variants, but it does look like our vaccines still work against preventing severe disease. And i think i want to underscore that. Recently in the state of maryland, all of the people who died of covid19 were people who were unvaccinated. 90 of people with severe disease are unvaccinated. It prevents severe disease even from delta. That, by the way, folks, is not an exaggeration. It is literally 99 , more than 99 , for instance, in june of covid deaths among the unvaccinated. I want you to listen to what the governor of West Virginia had to say about people who have yet to be vaccinated. I want to get at the importance of a message like this. Have a listen. If youre out there in West Virginia and youre not vaccinated today, whats the downside if all of us were vaccinated . Do you not believe less people would die . If youre not vaccinated, youre part of the problem rather than part of the solution. There is a politics to this that Red States tend or lower Vaccination Rates. So what is the importance of, particularly republican politicians like this one, Mitch Mcconnell said something similar yesterday as well, trying to pearce that vaccine hesitant bubble . Yeah, its a really important point. There are a bunch of reasons why people havent been vaccinated. And one of i think the worst reasons is the politics behind it because the science really doesnt care whether youre democrat or republican. Basically its going to find the unvaccinated people and the more con contagious variants are going to find the unvaccinated people. If we can remove the politics from it, the people who are hesitant or distrustful of the vaccine will go ahead and get it done. Certainly i think we should continue to listen to people, listen to their concerns and push forward as fast as possible because thats really our only way out of this pandemic, is getting as many people vaccinated as possible. Part of the biden Administrations Strategy to reach more of these people, get them vaccinated is that public messaging. Its other things they unveiled in the last 24 hours, one of which is encouraging clinics in workplaces, that kind of thing. Also to give people time off to get a vaccine, at least hours off to get a vaccine. Its pretty quick these days. Are steps like that, do you think, able to make a difference . They really do make a difference. Its remarkable whien i talk about it with patients how many people dont do it just because its inconvenient or they have to take time off from work or they have Child Care responsibilities. Making getting the vaccine as frictionless as possible is one of the key one of the key efforts we have to go forward with because, remember, when we started this, there was short supply. It was hard, people had to sign Up T was complicated. Some people think thats the case. Its not the case now. The more places we can make them available, work places, pharmacies, peoples homes, thats better. Thats where were headed next to find the remaining portion not getting the vaccine. Goodness, folks, please take advantage out there and theyre easy to get. Dr. Paul saks, thank you very much. Thanks, jim. A new analysis of the cdc shows the demographic groups hit hardest by covid19 remain under represented among americans who have been vaccinated. Senior medical Correspondent Elizabeth joins us. Walk us through the numbers. This gets to vulnerabilities. Thats right, jim. People of color were so disproportionately hit by covid19, and the hope was once the Vaccine Cave out, that those communities in particular would get vaccinated so that they could be protected. And unfortunately, that turns out is not what has happened. We would expect at the very least people would be vaccinated in proportion to the numbers in the population. So, for example, 60 of the u. S. Is white, and it is true, it worked for white folks that number works, about 60 of white people are vaccinated. But lets Take A Look at what those numbers look like for other groups. So, whites and asians are vaccinated in proportion to their population. However, for blacks, they represent 12 of the population, but only 9 of the vaccinated population. Latinos represent 17 of the population. But only 15 of the vaccinated population. And you might say, well, those differences arent huge. But that represents more than 5 Million people, more than 5 Million black and latino people who are not vaccinated. So that number is really, really important. There are also disparities when you look geographically, and dr. Fauci sort of mentioned this when we heard from him earlier in our show. Lets Take A Look at what the geographic difference is. If you look at the southern part of the united states, it represents about 38 of the population, but only 34 of the vaccinated population. Again, that is millions of people who are not being vaccinated. Jim . Are there differences among age groups, too . There are. We know that elderly people have availed themselves of vaccines in great numbers since the beginning of the rollout. That is not as true for younger people. Lets Take A Look at folks ages 18 to 39. They represent 30 of the population, but only 27. 5 of the vaccinated population. Again, millions of people, opportunity lost, not getting vaccinated. You know, part of the issue here is that younger people dont tend to get as sick, dont tend to die as often. Really this is a time for young people to step up and say, i care more than about me. I care about my grandma, i care about people with underlying conditions. Im going to get vaccinated for them. Hopefully that will happen. Thats the thing. Its about you and its about others and its frankly how the Virus Spreads and mutates when it has opportunity. Elizabeth cohen, thanks very much. Thanks. Right now President Biden is meeting with key leaders in his administration and members of the Intelligence Community as the White House races to finalize the governmentwide strategy to deter future ransomware attacks. It comes after two more major cyber attacks in the past week. Actors based in russia. Russia knows about them. Jeremy diamond joins me from the White House. This is something multiple administrations have struggled with. They tried sanctions, a whole host of things. Do we know what the biden administration is considering thats different . Reporter we do know there is this kind of governmentwide inter Agency Effort underway right now to formulate a comprehensive Government Strategy to not only combat these ransomware attacks, but help companies harden their defenses against these attacks. This effort includes looking at how to stop these attacks and what authorities the government can leverage, and also the ways they can help these private companies harden their defenses. We do know that President Biden is meeting today as we speak with key leaders from across the government including from the state department, the department of justice, the department of Homeland Security as well as the Intelligence Community, and that really does speak to the extent to which this Ransomware Effort really does hit all different parts of government and the need for an Acrossthegovernment Kind of response to this. We do know that President Biden raised this issue of ransomware this his meeting with russian president vladimir putin which happened three weeks ago today, and we know that this latest attack on this Company Kaseya appears to have been carried out by this russianbased group r evil, and the White House has not yet made a Firm Attribution here. But the white House Press Secretary Jen Psaki making very clear today that President Biden and u. S. Officials have said that if russia does not take action, the u. S. Could. Listen. What the president made clear and said to President Putin is something that our experts in these conversations that are ongoing with russians are conveying clearly as well. Which is that even if its a criminal actor, even if its someone thats not the federal government, even if its a bad guy or bad gal in russia, you have a responsibility there. And you have a responsibility to take action. And if you dont take action, we reserve the right to. Reporter and one thing thats interesting here, jim, is the question is how can these attacks still be going on even after President Biden made clear to President Putin that there would be consequence if indeed these attacks continued whether they were from the russian state or from groups based in russia. But i spoke with an official this morning who told me, we did expect more of these attacks to continue, and that is because these attacks have been happening long before President Biden came into office, and they expect those to continue. So an ongoing problem here certainly at the White House. Well see if the u. S. Follows through on that threat with some sort of attack on russia. Jeremy diamond, thanks very much. Cnn projects that Eric Adams will narrowly win the democratic primary race for new York City mayor. Tuesdays ranked Choice Vote Count which included nearly 126,000 Absentee Ballots shows the Brooklyn Borough President and Retired Nypd captain leading by a single Percentage Point in the final round over Katherine Garcia. Adams spoke about criticism that as a former Police Officer he wont support police reform. If black lives really matter, it means we wont have senseless Gang Violence in New York, chicago, atlanta. I say its time for us to start believing we should have the right safe streets. Errol louis is the political anchor for Spectrum News in New York. Great to have you on, errol. A lot of folks thought this would be a progressive moment for new York City politics, yet eric adadams, relative moderaten this field. What happened in your view . In my view New York is a Skrr Progressive place compared to the rest of the country. Certain jobs are not necessarily where you want to put wildeyed progressives that want to do experimentation. Its the City Council where i think youll find a lot of progressives who appear to have been elected or at least nominated. When it comes to making sure were safe from terrorism, keeping the streets safe, running the largest School System in the country and so forth, the will of the voters seems to be that a little more moderate approach is whats needed. How about crime, the role of violent crime here. New york has been seeing a real surge in crime although the nypd did say yesterday compared to june last Year Murder was down somewhat significantly, but big picture going up. How much did that play into choosing a former Police Captain as the democratic nominee in your view . Several of the polls really all of the polls coming down the Home Stretch showed that voters were most concerned about disorder and public safety and violent crime more so than any other issue. It was an even bigger issue than covid, jim. Thats how important it is to people. When the streets dont feel safe or you see attacks on the subways, which weve seen, people being pushed on the tracks and so forth, people get really, really upset that. Is job one of government obviously. Its what voters said they want the next mayor to deal with without delay. We were out with police on patrol a couple weeks ago and we saw exactly what theyre nasing. I wonder, given the margin in this race, but also the major hiccup early on in the first count of these ranked choice ballots when they accidentally the board of elections put in sort of test votes that should not have been in the count, do you expect either mile wily or Katherine Garcia to challenge these results or ask for an audit . I dont know if theyre going to do that, but i know theyre going to take their time. For example, the reason you described. The board of elections had major screwups. The whole process of Rankedchoice Voting is a little opaque. I think theyll be especially cautious. Theres no particular urgency for them to concede. The General Election is on until november. Its not like you need democratic unity so you can hurry up an run against the other site. In New York, there isnt much of the other side. The republican party is in decline. Secondly, weve got until november to figure it out. Theyre right to take their time and make sure all of this was done properly. Is Rankedchoice Voting here to stay in New York . Do other communities say, hey, Thats Something we want to try . I encourage other jurisdictions to look carefully at what has happened here before making a decision. There are some pluses and there are some minuses. I would say to the rest of the country, dont be suwayed by reformers who tell you its all upside and there are no problems. There are some problems and weve experienced some of them. Well see whether or not voters want to keep it. Theres some talk from some legislators of trying to undo the law that created Rankedchoice Voting. Overall, i think people will be satisfied, in part because we had really high turnout compared to what we usually get. That alone is enough to think we had a successful election this time.
