24 people are confirmed dead. 121 others still missing. Their families awaiting answers with hope for a miracle, all but gone. The demolition comes as tropical Storm Elsa takes aim at florida. Watches and warnings now up for the keys and much of the states West Coast. The outer bands of the storm expected to have a broad impact. Lets take you now live to surfside, florida and cnns Natasha Chen live with our top story. Natasha, bring us up to speed. What is the latest . Reporter boris, the Search And Rescue mission really resumed shortly after that demolition at 10 30 p. M. Last night. Im told they got back on site 20 minutes later and continued searching and the families have been very grateful for that action. So urgently resuming. So right now that controlled demolition has really helped in making sure that they could access areas that they werent able to get to before. Prior to the demolition, it was difficult for the Search And Rescue teams to get to the part closest to the remaining structure because of the instability of that building. And there was concern, of course, that the storm would take it down in the wrong direction or on top of people. So doing this in a controlled manner, that way they could now get to more areas and that is going to be a more productive and safer way to go about this experience right now. The mayor of Miamidade County has explained to people why this was the best course of action. We brought down this last tower in a controlled way that did not in any way Icnterfere Te Site that were searching and it opened up a area that we have not been able to search before. So we owe it to all those that are waiting to give this pile open It Up for search. We understand that families realize the fact that time has gone by and realize that the chances are growing all dimmer and dimmer. Reporter and of course the families, this is very emotional. Youre seeing that tower come down and one of the Officials Yesterday said typically a demolition could be a spectacle. Something people want to watch as a show. But they said this is the furthest from that. What youre watching are these people lives that were in that building, people that had hoped to perhaps retrieve things but understand now that they cant and that is for a good reason there. Search and Rescue Teams telling us about Finding Furniture and teams really being careful with multiple sweeps and use Thermal Imaging Technology to make sure that no pets, no animals remained in that structure either, boris. Had to be excruciating for families of the missing to that. And natasha, Stand By, were expecting a Press Briefing within the next 30 minutes or so. So please, Stand By for us. Thank you for that report. I do want to share with you now part of a conversation this morning with a man who is leading the israeli Rescue Team in the search for victims. He talked to cnn about how the demolition has impacted Search Efforts. Listen to this. This Demolition Effects in a way that we are we have to work several directions. We have to we have to search from above, from beyond, from the sides because we are fighting against the clock. Each day that passes, reduces the chances to find somebody alive. Joining us now to discuss this search and the demolition, the mayor of surfside, florida, charles burkett. Mayor, appreciate you joining us this morning. There is a Press Briefing coming up in about 20, 25 minutes. I wanted to get your impressions, any information and any new details that you could share with us before that briefing . Well, you know, i met with the families this morning after i took a walk on the site. And i could confirm that ive never seen the site so busy with men, women and equipment. It is really encouraging to see how aggressively they are attacking the pile. Up at the family meeting, when the family was told that the search resumed 20 minutes after the demolition, there was applause. I believe there was great Relief And Gratefulness towards the Search And Rescue workers who have been just tirelessly sort of plowing ahead against all kinds of difficult situations. As ive said, there is not a resource problem, we just had a little bit of a Luck Problem and now with the storm moving away and with this building that was a looming danger and preventing a lot of work from being done, being gone were now at 100 full strength, full on, pulling everybody out of that Rubble Pile. And mayor, youve said tropical Storm Elsa was a blessing in disguise. Help us understand why it was so important for crews to demolish the remainder of the condo ahead of the storm, even if it is moving west, the outer bands could have an effect, right . That storm initiated a conversation about the necessity to bring that building down because the worst thing that could have happened was to have a Storm Come in and blow that building down on top of the pile. I met with Governor Desantis personally and we discussed fact that needed to be taken down and we need to make that problem disappear. I went to Mayor Cava who was told by experts that it could not be done and to her credit she asked the hard questions. She made a 180 Degree Turn and made a very admirable decision to move forward with moving that, taking that building down. It was tough, it was gutsy. It was the right thing to do and i commend her for it. And speaking of mayor daniela levine cava, i want to play for you a sound bite, what she said this morning about how officials are trying to help those whose homes were destroyed in the demolition. Here she is. Millions of dollars have been raised thanks to the generosity of people all around the world. Were relocating people either in hotels, were reloking them into more permanent setting and when we have been asking them to catalogue all of their precious belongings so that as soon as they are recovered, well be able to make a match. Mayor, im wondering what kind of concerns the residents that lived in that part of the building and shared with you about the demolition . Yesterday i met with Debbie Wassermanschultz and the families who escaped that building with their lives and listened to what they had to say to us and listened to their concerns. Ive been able to address some of them. But well continue to work at our very, very best, our very best effort to make sure that they get what they need in the form of support from the federal government, the state government, the County Government and the local government. Were all working together. It is a symphony of effort. Ive never seen anything like this. All of the politicians are focused on supporting the families and getting everybody out of that Rubble Pile and reuniting them with their families. It is really a beautiful thing. There is a lot of love here. There is a lot of love here. That outpouring of support from the community and that unity, a Silver Lining in this tragedy, no question. Mayor one more question about the demolition. I spoke to an engineer, a Structural Engineer over the weekend who said that it could have some impact on the investigation, on the ability of investigators to analyze the potential causes for the collapse. What have you been told about the impact of the demolition on that effort . I havent. I had a brief conversation with our Structural Engineer, they hired their own engineer, this is the gentleman who did the pentagon after 9 11 and the fiu bridge. So this man is imminently qualified to assist us. Hes working hard to give me the information that i need to share with you. I had not heard that this demolition would impinge upon that investigation. But that being said, our primary, primary obligation is to get the victims out of that rubble and reunite them with their family, no matter what we have to do to do that and that is exactly what is happening here in surfside. Officials remaining clear this is a search and operation. Mayor, we appreciate the time. Thank you so much. Sure. Thank you. So Tropical Storm watches and warnings have been issued for the Florida Keys an the West Coast as elsa moves across cuba and into the keys as early as tonight. Cnns Chad Meyers is following the storm. He has the brandnew forecast track. Chad, what are you seeing . Just nine minutes ago, the storm is about 20 miles south of the southern Cuba Border or the Beach Area there. And as it moves across cuba today, it will likely lose a little bit of strength. Because hurricanes want to be in water. They dont want to be over lands. The land is not thick. And so we still have these Tropical Storm warnings all the way now from cedar key, including tampa, which is brandnew and all the way down to the Florida Keys. Nothing really on the East Coast because surfside is right here and and the cone is well to the west. But there could be spg that goes on with the squalls that come off the ocean not only tonight but tomorrow, about 6 00 your closest approach to key west for tomorrow. Likely some surge along the lower and middle keys. Also here by Tomorrow Night up toward tampa, very Heavy Rainfall. Some of these storms could have even the potential for a Water Spout or a tornado because we do haveential here as those storms come on land, they have a little bit of spin. The whole storm has spin. Four to six inches of rain, some spots could be ten. That could be inland, freshwater flooding and then the surge could be the salt water flooding. There is the wind field. Most of the wind is to the east of the center of the eye. Or the center of the storm. There really isnt an eye. But that means that most of floridas West Coast is in that little part of where the wind will be the strongest. Two to four feet. This doesnt matter if youre inland but if you live along these coasts, two to four Foot Storm Surge is something youll need to watch, boris. Chad myers, appreciate the update. Thanks. Were 16 minutes past the hour. President biden used the fourth of July Holiday to appeal to americans to get vaccinated. Insisting it is the most patriotic thing they could do. Listen. Covid19 has not been vanquished. We know powerful variants have emerged like the Delta Variant. But the best defense against these variants is to get vaccinated. My fellow americans, this is most patriotic thing you can do. So please, if you havent gotten vaccinated, do it, do it now. For yourself, for your Loved Ones, for your community and for your country. About 67 of u. S. Adults have received at least one dose of the vaccine. That is falling short of the president s goal of 70 by Independence Day. And the Delta Variant has Health Officials concerned so much so that in the st. Louis area, theyre urging all residents to wear masks indoors. Joining us now so discuss this and more, coronavirus related issues, dr. Carlos del rio, the Executive Dean of the Emory School Of Medicine At Grady Health Systems and also with us dr. Faisal khan, the director of st. Louis County Department of public health. Dr. Del rio, lets start with you. With slowing vaccine rates, the increasing spread of the Delta Variant, how would you describe the risk were facing of potentially erasing some of the gains that have been made so far . Boris, first of all, lets say that we have done a lot in this country to contain the virus and i think vaccination has really been the key to that. Now, the problem is that you have areas of the country where there is significant vaccination and there are areas where vaccination is lagging. In the areas where there are people that is vaccinated, the Delta Variant is not a concern. So if youre vaccinated, i dont need to worry. The problem is in areas where you dont have a significant percentage of the population immunized particularly young people and in those places the Delta Variant is going to spread because it is highly transmissible, and it is going to infect a lot of the people that are not yet vaccinated or have not beenin fecked with covid. If youre protected just like you were vaccinated if you had covid. Well dig deeper into the pockets of the country in a second with dr. Khan. But dr. Del rio, the majority of people who are dying are unvaccinated. Here is biden Adviser Dr. Fauci and what he said about this. Well, if you look at the number of deaths, about 99. 2 of them are unvaccinated, about 0. 8 are vaccinated. No vaccine is perfect. But when you talk about the Avoid Ability of hospitalization and deaths, chuck, it is really sad and tragic that most all of these are avoidable and preventible. 99. 2 are at least theoretically preventible. At this point, doctor, what else could be done to get more people vaccinated . Well i think it is really important that we work very closely with locally with the communities, with the areas that are not vaccinated and dr. Fauci is right. Im currently on the Consult Service at the hospital and ive seep a couple of cases of covid, every single one it an unvaccinated person and their relatives an their community and close contacts that are not vaccinated. We need to explain you have one person in the hospital right now, lets make sure everybody else in your family and close contacts get vaccinated so they dont end up in the hospital. So we need to do a very targeted approach. Because just giving mass messages is not getting to the people that need it the most. Dr. Khan, let dig into the situation in missouri. Your State Lagging behind the united states average. Only 39 of people fully vaccinated there. The rate actually much lower in certain specific parts of the state. The number of new cases in missouri also increasing while the overall numbers in the united states are relatively steady. Why is this happening there . Well, it is for a variety of reasons, boris. The fact is that we began to plateau out in terms of vaccination at least a month ago. And we decided at that point in time that we were running into this iceberg of people that were resistant to the vaccine message. And we have to go hyperlocal to have those conversations individually and at Community Levels and barber shops, Beauty Salons and supermarkets, Et Cetera to try to get them the vaccine. We made progress but it is a glacial pace and it might already be too late. We are now seeing the results of that low Vaccination Rates and the spike in cases related to the Delta Variant. Yeah, doctor khan, you and your counterpart in the city of st. Louis on friday called for everyone to wear masks indoors. How confident are you that people will follow those guidelines . That is a good question, boris. And let me just go back to the way the cdc handled the message around masks and dr. Del rio my apologies if i disagree with you on this, but the fact is that it was a modelled and and a confuse the message when the were relaxed. I was out yesterday to go and see fireworks in an outdoor setting in st. Louis as most of us were, and as i drove along restaurants and bars, they were teaming with people, very few were wearing masks and it is as if people put covid in the mirror and it was hin them and no one is paying attention to them because of the bubbled messages around masks an we last though battle for the narrative. So our plea with people is please wear masks. But i dont know if that they will listen. Doctor khan, i want to keep the conversation forward looking. How would you like the federal government to help. Is there something more that the White House could do that you think would help the situation in missouri . I think more Vaccination Opportunities is certainly one thing. But we need to tweak our communications a little better. We need to reach out to individual neighborhoods, we need to go doortodoor to convince people and that requires resources that we currently do not have. That is the kind of effort it will take to take our Vaccination Rate from 42 to 70 or more. Dr. Khan, dr. Del rio, we have to leave the conversation there. Thank you both so much for the time. Thank you, boris. Thank you. Up next, u. S. Military forces leavinging new details about how the u. S. Embassy In Kabul is preparg for a potential future evacuation. Finding something and the us takes Gold Dream on Dream On Dream On Dream On yes Ahhhhhhh Dream until your Dreams Come True three days after the last american troops left Bagram Air base in afghanistan, officials are updating their Evacuation Plans for the u. S. Embassy In Kabul as concerns grow about the potential for escalating violence, even a civil car once the total u. S. Withdrawal from afghanistan is complete in the weeks ahead. Lets take you now to kabul and cnns anna coren. Taliban fighters have taken control of dozens of new districts in the last few days. What kind of effort is being made to stop them . Is there one . Reporter that is a really good question, boris. And one weve been asking the government. We were at Bagram Air base today, that is the first time we were allowed there since u. S. And Nato Forces left last friday, essentially ending u. S. Presence here in afghanistan. Yes, theyre keeping 650 staff to protect the embassy, but as far as a physical foot print, it has virtually vanished. So, the defense minister, who we spoke to said that the government is coming up with a plan to Counter Attack the taliban who we know are launching a wide offensive across the country, particularly in the North And Northeast where Tens Of Thousands of people are fleeing now from their homes to the cities. In the last two months, boris, theyve already claimed 150 districts and are encroaching on provincial capitals. The taliban are sending out mixed messages. When they heard that the troops left they said it was a positive step forward and issued a statement in relation to the safety of foreign embassy staff. Let me read this out to you. They said they may continue their diplomatic work and humanitarian activities per normal routine. As far as it is related to the islamic emmer at, we have fulfilled their responsibility regarding their safety. So the attacks on the local population, causing Fear And Terror and making people flee and other hand they try to come off as a legitimate type of government if you like, that could ensure the safety of foreigners. Im thought sure if anybody is really buying it here. Certainly as far as local afghans are concerned, theyre wondering whether their Security Forces could actually protect them against the taliban. Because the taliban has such momentum at the moment, boris. An important question, uncertain future in afghanistan and a lot of issues to contemplate. Anna coren from kabul, thank you so much. One of those issues to work out, the biden administration still trying to determine exactly how it is going to go after terrorists in afghanistan once u. S. Troops are gone. Sources tell cnn that the administration is considering changes to its drone Strike Policy as part of its efforts to kill suspected terrorists. Cnns Katie Bowe Williams has reporting. This is a challenge because the united states doesnt have very many assets to go after terrorists that are already setting up shot and theyre going to have an issue with surveillance and keeping an eye on what is happening there . Yes. That is an important thing to understand here. Is that with the withdraw of conventional u. S. Troops from afghanistan, the Intelligence Community is really losing the backbone that its built its Intelligence Collection Network in afghanistan on over the last 20 years so certainly the visibility in the country is severely degraded from where it has been. However, what is happening now is the biden administration is reviewing whether or not to effectively tighten the rules that the cia is operating under in afghanistan to essentially raise the bar for launching Drone Strikes for using lethal force in afghanistan once the united states leaves and the war is declared to be considered to be officially over. Now, this kind of review expected given that the united states is moving to a completely different footing in afghanistan that it has been for the last 20 years. But it is notable that even as this withdrawal has accelerated, as the surveillance capabilities have been lost, that this has not been completed yet. That does put the cia and d. O. D. In a bit of a position of limbo. We have to cut you off but we want to get to officials in florida giving an update on the building in surfside that collapsed. There is the mayor daniela levine cava. It appears were going to hear from them in any moment. Of course, the latest update is that overnight the building was demolished to make it easier for Rescue Workers to Access Parts lets listen in. I welcome to the podium Miamidade County mayor daniela levine cava. Thank you. Here we are, day 12. It is hard to believe that it is been 12 long days. Im proud to provide an update that last Nights Demolition of the remaining portion of the Champlain Towers South was executed exactly as planned. The demolition began at 10 30 p. M. And the building fell as was planned towards collins avenue. Only dust landed on the existing pile. And a little over an hour afterward, we received the all clear. And then right around Midnight Work commenced on the pile and by 1 00 a. M. We were in full Search And Rescue operation mode. To collapse an entire Apartment Building is a devastating decision and the demolition was in in way a decision that i made lightly. Bringing the building down in a controlled manner was critical to expanding our scope of search. Truly we could not continue without bringing this building down. The area closest to the building was the area that we had not been able to access. And that is where we needed to go. And previously it was not accessible to the enormous risk to the team of first responders because of the instability of the building. And as we speak, the teams are working on that part of the pile that was not accessible before the building was demolished. The Standing Structure also posed a threat to public health and safety, particularly as the storm approached. Given that the tropical Storm Force winds could have brought it down in a manner that could not have been as controlled and predicted. So im extraordinarily grateful to the demolition team. The engineers, the miamidade fire Rescue Team, the Miamidade County Police Department and everybody who played a part in executing this operation safely and successfully. Including the town of surfside. I also want to take a moment to acknowledge and reflect on the great tragedy this has been for those who have survived the building and have had to evacuate. The world is mourning for those who lost their Loved Ones and for those who are waiting for news from the collapse. To lose your home and all of your belongings in this manner is a great loss as well. Andpy heart and deepest sympathies going out to all of the families who have had this tragedy. Our teams are doing everything possible to help those would lost their homes begin to rebuild, fema is here and has been from the beginning. And theyve been doing an incredible job to sign up families for individual assistance and were working with Insurance Companies to stream line the process of submitting claims as much as possible. And weve raised millions of dollars thanks to the generosity of people in this country and all around the world. Their generosity has been overwhelming and it is going to be very, very important to put these funds into these families hands to help them to rebuild and meet their unmet needs and they have already been getting this assistance. I also want to stress once again that we took every action that we possibly could to search for any pets, any animals in the building prior to the demolition. In the days since the collapse, the miamidade fire Rescue Team conducted multiple full sweeps of the building in person, including searching in closets and under beds and other hiding places, in the areas of the building not accessible to the teams, they used ladders on high lift cranes and placed live Animal Traps on balconies at great personal risk to our first responders. Also doorways were opened, other means for pets to escape the building if they were able. We deployed drones with Thermal Imaging on numerous trips over the Rubble Pile and also standing in the tower in areas unsafe for Search And Rescue teams to enter. So i want to say as clearly as i i possibly can and urge our community to understand that we went truly to great lengths to take every step that we could at great risk to our first responders to ensure that all of the pets that were beloved family members, that none of them were left in the building prior to the demolition. Since the first responders were able to resume their work on the collapse Last Night, we have very sadly recovered three additional victims. The total number of confirmed deaths is now at 27. The number of those accounted for is 191. And unaccounted for, 118. Please join me in praying for those who lost their lives and the families who mourn and for all of those who are still waiting. We continue to monitor tropical Storm Elsa and expect that miamidade will mostly experience Heavy Rain and some winds throughout today and tomorrow. I was grateful to have the opportunity to speak with some of the first responders on site Last Night right after the demolition, before they headed back out to the pile. On day 12 these men and women have continued their mission. They have the same Determination And Strength as when they got out on day one. It is a true honor to surf alongside these heroes and sheheroes. From the tate and from the federal and from the international teams, all of our partners who have made this historic effort possible. [ speaking foreign language ] as the mayor of Miamidade County offers a spanish translation, i want to review some of the news that she shared with us about the Building Collapse in surfside, florida. She confirmed that since Rescue Crews were able to enter the area following last Nights Demolition, they recovered three more victims, that means total number of confirmed dead in surfside at this point stands at 27 and that 118 people remain missing following the collapse last thursday, the thursday before. The mayor making clear that 12 days after the Collapse Rescue crews are still at that pile trying to find any sign of life. Though hopes are dwindling. She reviewed the demolition saying that it was, quote, executed exactly as planned. Landing on the street and not on the Rubble Pile that was being looked at previously by Rescue Workers. She said that after an hour of crews studying the demolition, they were given the all clear and allowed to return to a full Search And Rescue operation. She said it was a decision that was not made lightly and that the Search And Rescue could not have continued without the building being demolished. Again, the news three victims confirmed recovered since the demolition. 27 confirmed dead. 118 remain unaccounted for. Were going to keep following that Press Conference and bring you any new details as we get them. Stay with cnn for the latest. Well be right back. Paul loves food. So, Donald Trump held a rally in sarasota, florida, over the weekend and if you listen closely, the former president may have admitted the core facts of the Prosecutions Case against his own company. Listen to this. They go after good, hard working people for not paying taxes on a company car. A company car. You didnt pay tax on the car. Or a company apartment, you used an apartment because you need an apartment because you have to travel too far where your house is. You didnt pay tax. Or education for your grandchildren. I dont even know, do you have to does anybody know the answer to that stuff . I think some people know the answer to that. The former president trumps Family Business Andize chief financial Officer Face charges of Fraud And Tax evasion. So what is Donald Trump doing here . Joining us now to try to answer that question, cnn political analyst natasha alford, the vp of the dilgt digital Content And Elie honig and the author of a new Book Hatchetman how Bill Barr corrupted the justice department. Thank you both for joining us this morning. Eli, lets start with you. If Donald Trump was your client and you watched him do this, what would your reaction be to what hes saying. I think would smack my forehead first, boris. Look, this is a very unorthodox playbook but it is the Donald Trump playbook. Weve seen it over the years. Donald trumps mantra is admit nothing, deny everything, launch Counter Attack. It is not necessarily the best playbook if youre a potential criminal defendant. He does in that clip admit the core facts but not everything but the core facts in the dime, that they did pay benefits and they did not pay taxes on them. Key question, though, and he stopped short of this and here is where hes planting his defense, did he know about it and authorize it and hes setting out this argument that this Wasnt Something i knew about or this Wasnt Something i fully understand. Of course it is contradicted by prior statements that he knows more about tax than anybody in the world but here we are, this is his defense. An you think that these comments could be brought up in court . Legally, absolutely. Any prosecutor could introduce a persons own statements against them. That is why we have the Miranda Warning and every Defense Lawyer tells their client be silent. So Donald Trump doesnt Take That advice, but yes, it could be used in court. Natasha, im curious, you see this as Trump Deflecting blame but also con raw boris, as mentioned, Donald Trump in 2017 in an interview with the New York Times said he knew taxes better than anyone, better than a cpa. Right . So there are two faces of Donald Trump. Someone who wants to be seen as a brilliant businessman capable of cleaning out the swamp and helping america to stop wasting its money and overspending. At the same time, he plays ignorant. He acts as if he doesnt understand the responsibilities that come with running an organization in the way that he does. And whats interesting to me, i think is hes insulting the intelligence of all the people in the audience. He doesnt even try to deny his crimes anymore. He just tries to justify them. And he knows that hes going to find an adoring crowd, a crowd thats willing to excuse him of responsibility and really hold him accountable. Yeah. Its fascinating that he simultaneously plays the role of strong man and also victim at the same time. Theres a lot to study there. But we have to actually put this conversation on hold. Lets head over to surfside, florida where the governor is briefing the press. Were raising the issue about doing this. One of the main concerns that we had were well, two concerns. One, we did have a storm approaching. We werent sure the track it was going to take. We did not want to see any type of problems with that building impeding the search. So that was one of the impetuses. The other thing is the place that was the pile that was closest to the remaining structure was effectively Inak Eszable by the Search And Rescue people. When i went out there this morning, the whole building is now down. They were on that pile that had been difficult for them to access. Theyre making a lot of progress with the Search Effort in that part. When they drew this up and told me what was going to happen, obviously the Miami Dade was made the final call. We were supportive of it. We funded it at the state level. They explained to me how it was going to happen. It would basically fall down in place and low and behold, it fell down in place. If you look around, there was not a lot of debris even right after it coming down. You can still drive a vehicle down the road and then now you wouldnt have even known if you hadnt known that was there that something just came down within the last day. I think it was a good effort. I think it was the right thing to do, and i think it will help us move forward unimpeded and be able to get the job done for the families, for the community of surfside, for Miami Dade and the state of florida. We are at least in terms of the surfside with this storm, elsa, the news is pretty positive. They continue the 11 00 a. M. Update for the national hurricane center, advisory, moved it further west. So i will be signing a revised Executive Order later today, and we will likely remove Miami Dade from the affected counties. We will likely be removing Desew Toe and hardy, interior florida but in the southern part of the state, well likely remove them because the track is pushing it further out to the Gulf Of Mexico. On the other hand, were going to have to add a lot of counties in the northern part of the state, particularly in the Big Bend region. So youre looking at counties like that we had had in there, north of places like Dixie And Leavy county and also some Interior Counties. Were working with the meteorologists. Were working on that. Well have that done very soon. So the impact, the land fall impact of this storm is likely to be north of tampa bay, and probably even north of Citrus County at that point. Again, theyll continue to monitor the track. Its going to start passing over cuba today. And once it gets on the other side of cuba, well have an even better idea of what the track looks like. Our plan is the same. We understand that this is just part of living in florida. We are reminding people just if you do have Power Outages, and we do anticipate some Power Outages, if you have the Power Outages and youre using a generator, make sure that generator is exhausting outside your home and outside your garage. If that is inside a garage or inside a home, you will have Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. More people have passed away in florida for the last four years from Carbon Monoxide Poisoning responding to a Power Outage than direct impacts of the storm. Be smart. Understand thats a risk. And then just listen to folks on your local community about if there is a need to do any type of evacuations. We dont anticipate the need for any type of widespread evacuations based on this storm. Its going to be a strong Tropical Storm. If you are in certain areas, you may have local Energy Manager recommend an evacuation. And if thats the case, then heed that. I think were really looking at folks who are Special Needs or power dependent and likely wouldnt see that for a broader section of the community at this point. But well continue to provide updates. Were working with the national weather service. Obviously were working with all the local counties affected. But Bottom Line is were going to take Miami Dade out and take a couple other Interior Counties in southern florida out. Well be adding a number of counties in the northern half of the state and again, the most recent track is were looking at impacts north of Citrus County, probably in that Dixie County area. And if we continue to see any movement beyond that, then obviously we will update people. We do, though, do not anticipate when t in the Gulf Of Mexico that this storm is just going to end up going west of florida. That is not every single model is in agreement that once its in the gulf, theres going to be a movement back northeast, and we obviously anticipate that will impact the state of florida. So were ready for that. But we are as much as you dont want to have to deal with these, the Movement West at least for this Surfside Site means the impacts here should be incredibly minimal. May get some rain. You may get a little bit of wind. But nothing like we were looking at maybe a couple days ago with tropical Storm Force gusts and with that, ill introduce the kevin guthrie, Emergency Management Director and then well do the surfside mayor. We just heard from florida governor ron desantis. A lot of the same information that we heard earlier from Miami Dade mayor in the way of information regarding the demolition of whats left of the Champlain Shower south building with a partial collapse. The governor making the case for the demolition saying the state supported the local Governments Decision to move forward. He said he got a close look at the site this morning. He called it the right thing to do. The governor also giving an update on tropical Storm Elsa as it barrels toward florida. Confirming that Miami Dade is now being taken off the list of counties where there is concern for serious issues. At least that is a positive development for the Rescue Vcres on the ground. The numbers we got following the demolition overnight, three more victims recovered. 27 confirmed dead. 118 people remain unaccounted for. We want to pivot now and give you an update on a truly bizarre story. A search underway at this hour in georgia. So far Police Havent given us details about a suspect, a description, a man seen fleeing wearing a certain kind of clothing. None of that has come from Police Officers so far. What we do have is a community in shock. In fact, listen to this man talk about this crime that happened in this community. Growing up here, nothing i would ever imagine having in this city. Like, in this town. And its just i cant understand how or why this actually happened. Yeah. As someone who has lived in this area, you can tell for a fact they dont have murders like this very often. And the idea there were so many homes around here that probably have security cameras. Youd think by now detectives may have evidence or maybe be able to trace a cell phone. So far invest gators are keeping things close to the vest. This is still a man hunt. Theres somebody on the loose. Thats something hopefully police will give us more information. Community members are shocked by this. There is a Gofundme Sage for mr. Siller. Theres a lot of shock in this Community Fabout a senseless crime that left a lot of people dead. Is there any sense from officials that this is targeted. Should people in the community be concerned . That is the number one question we have as well.
