We begin with Breaking News at any moment, a long time Chief Financial Officer of the Trump Organization, is expected to turn himself in. A manhattan Grand Jury issued a indictment for him and the Trump Organization overnight. Sources tells cnn manhattans d. A. Office is expected to charge them with tax crimes. Now at this Point Donald Trump himself is not expected to be charged. We are live outside the courthouse and joins us now. What more do we know about what could be in this indictment . We are awaiting outside of the courthouse because we expect a Alan Weiselberg to turn himself in thats related to this Tax Investigation having to do with compensation and gifts he received as a Senior Officer of the Trump Organization where he has worked for about 40 years. In addition the Trump Organization itself will be indicted. The company will be arraigned. One of the lawyers will speak up in court for them. The attorney for the form her president said they will went terrify a plea of not guilty. Theres a range of options that authorities can bring and give us some information about how close this gets to the former president. So well be combing through those documents later this afternoon. This is really a dramatic moment. The manhattan District Attorney has fought and gone all the way to the Supreme Court two times to obtain the former president s personal and Business Tax returns and other records. Were now seeing the fruit of this investigation which has been ongoing for years and the former president which has rebuffed multiple investigations the including one for obstruction of justice. Now his company The One with his name on it will be presented in Court Today and indicted on charges relating to taxes. Thank you. Well continue to check in with you throughout morning. Joining us now a political analyst. Maggie you and i a couple of days ago were saying all the developments this week were not landing well understandably with the former president. This morning do we have any reporting about his mindset, anything of that of the family. As we know they still work for the company. Sure. There was a lot of anxiety around the Trump Organization, obviously and around the trump family. The former president s mood on this have been described generally fairly calm. He knew this was coming and knew this was coming this week. He had time to prepare. Evented frustration in a statement he released earlier this week but im told thats the extent of it. Lets see what happens after the indictment is unseal and we know what were talking about. Theres no question, its very different to talk about what it looks like. Is Donald Trump somehow mentioned in some way. People close to him said they dont expect that but well see what prosecutors do. I guess i want people to understand this is historic in many ways. This is a former president s Family Business being hauled before a criminal court. This is just not Something Farce as i know, ever happening nothing close to this. This is important. It is historic. We need to find out more what exactly is in indictment the. Still its significant. Alan weiselberg has not kooptd at all with these investigations, not this phase of the investigations. Whats the feeling within Trump World about him going forward once he is officially charged with whatever it hell be charged with. How much faith do they have to continue for him. John, thats the big question, right . Certainly as you say this is historic. This a huge deal even if it personally never touches Donald Trump. It has enormous implications for the future of his country and make it through an indictment which can be dicey for kiss. It has implications for his children. Theres that Prospect And Aspect of it. In terms of what happens going forward and what this means with trump and what this means in terms of how he responds, how he reacts i think theres so much we dont know about where this goes. They are concerned about weiselberg. They have been for some time. I spoke to Somebody Close to former president Last Night who said look if alan was going to flip on the company or on the president he would have done that already. Thats not necessarily true. You know certainly lots of people have talked about not flipping until they face an indictment or are indicted and this former president has seen that myriad The Times over the last couple of years. Look i think it depends, again, John On what is in this indictment based on what they know from prosecutors so far. They feel okay. May not have visibility. Alan weiselberg former daughterinlaw talked about his intense loyalty to Donald Trump. She said he also had this sense that Donald Trump would save him in the end. I know the former President Prize his loyalty, but its not always receiptcle. Its not clear what Donald Trump can do except pay legal fees. We dont know who is covering all of this. We dont know what method they are using to try to make sure that your lawyers are getting paid. This has been a source of contention with Donald Trump previously with his lawyers. With that respect im not sure how much Donald Trump can do in terms of loyalty. My answer to your point does Donald Trump try to distance himself . Weve seen him do that with other people before. Thats very hard to do, the cfo of your company has been there for decade. Seen everything. Knew trumps father. Its extremely hard to do. Donald trump is aware of that. In terms of Weiselbergs Loyalty to trump yes hes very loyal. He knows where financial secrets if there are any are. But hes an older man. You know he has kids who have also been swept up in this investigation. He could be worried about them. He could be worried about himself. What this looks like going forward i think is a huge open Question And Anyone making declarations right now this morning at 6 00 a. M. Before we have seen this indictment is making a mistake. So often the language of the indictment itself makes such a difference both obviously legally and politically in terms how people react the to it. This has 2024 implications. This has implications for whatever political aspiration Donald Trump may have. He was asked directly in an interview overnight its what i consider a reality show answer. We dont have the southern im sorry. What he basically said i know, i know whether im going to run in 2024. Ive made my decision but i wont tell you. Which is like the next episode of aprn advertise. What do you think is really going on behindthescenes . I dont think he knows what hes going to do and his advisors are mixed on it about what hes going to do. Pennsylvania Supreme Court Sunday his accusers and the world overturning cosbys sexual Assault Conviction ruling he was unfairly prosecuted and closing the door on any retrial in the case. Bill cosby is a free man this morning, released from State Prison after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his sexual Assault Conviction. Following the ruling the comedian returned to his home outside of philadelphia. Hes extremely happy to be home and looks forward to reuniting with his wife and children. Reporter cosby was sentenced in 2017 after being found guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman. The court ruling that prosecutors violated his Due Process rights, writing he must be discharged and any future prosecution on these particular charges must be barred. Justices explaining their decision saying cosby was original lie promised immunity for testimony in a civil case. A decade later a different prosecutor used his testimony against him in a criminal trial. We said from day one we just didnt think he was treated fairly and the system has to be fair. And fortunately the Supreme Court agreed with us. Reporter the 83yearold did not speak to reporters during his brief appearance outside of his home following his Release But Cosby spoke to cnn overnight saying this when asked if he believed this day would come. Yes. Im not guilty. So what i see what they are trying to put up, and im saying this is not right. Reporter cosby also tweeted thanks to his fans writing, i never changed my stance nor my story. I have always maintained my innocence. Constant and her legal team calling the ruling disappointing. Writing in a Statement It may discourage those who seek justice for Sexual Assault in the criminal Justice System from reporting or participating in the prosecution of the assailant or make the victim choose between filing a criminal or civil action. Cosbys release is a shock to dozens of women who accused him of Sexual Misconduct over a 40 year period. Im sad. And im feeling like this is a loss for mean for the other whom came forward. And being concerned about people coming forward. What do you think this do to other alleged victims of Sexual Assault and also what does it do to women who have come out, who have Come Forward, what do you think the impact is . Its devastating. I think it takes so much courage to Come Forward in the first place. Were still trying to get people and i say people because rape happens to men too and men victims, male victims we hear you, we see you, we know youre out there. It takes so much to even go forward and report it. Were still trying to get people to report their crimes. Then to go forward, if you can get the evidence on your perpetrator, if you can get them into a courthouse. And then you have the opportunity to face them, as die, as a very few of us get, then to have some legal loophole take all of that work, all of those sleepless nights, all of that energy and basically say, sorry, we dont really care about what youve been through because some legal arbitrary law says it doesnt matter. Any new discoveries overnight, colonel . There are new discoveries all the time, and families will be the first to know every time. So i will give the updates to the families. I appreciate that. Look, one of the things we learned yesterday is two of the most recent victims discovered were children. How hard is that on those involved with the Search Operations . Its hard to see children. We use every piece of information in order to operate and to speed up the work on site, so this is one of the pieces of information that we are over looking because in this stage we need to know exactly where people were and its not easy but i heard of that. A Grand Jury issued an indictment for Allen Weisselberg and the Trump Organization late Last Night. We go live outside the courthouse. What can you tell us . Reporter john, so a lawyer for Allen Weisselberg, Donald Trumps long time Chief Financial Officer surrendered to manhattan District Attorneys office just a few moments ago, according to his lawyer. Allen weisselberg will be arraigned later this afternoon. Hes facing charges that stem from this long investigation into tax fraud, tax crimes. We dont know yet exactly what the indictment will charge him with but this has to do with compensation he received including School Tuition for his grandchildren. Rent free apartment. A company car. Bonuses. That will all factor into these Charges Today were told. Now these charges will, you know, have to do with whether or not he paid the appropriate taxes on the various gifts and compensation he received. As a Senior Officer of the company hes also, you know, tied into the charges that will be brought against the company. The company was also indicted by manhattan Grand Jury yesterday. Those charges will be unsealed later this afternoon. We expect to see Allen Weisselberg in court around 2 00 p. M. When the charges will be unsealed as well as a representative from Trump Organization where they will be arraigned on those charges. A lawyer for Information President said a lawyer will enter a plea of not guilty for the company. Wess with has been under immense pressure to cooperate in this investigation. He has so far not done so. We dont expect any change open that today. We expect a statement from his lawyer later this afternoon. This is a dramatic moment. One of Donald Trumps most loyal associates, Allen Weisselberg has been with Trump Organization for about 40 years when Donald Trump was elected president he turned the keys of the company over to Allen Weisselberg and his two Adult Sons Donald Trump jr.
