Be devalued because of that or because of the race of her particular neighborhood when weve seen the neighborhoods all around her gentrify. Reminded me of something former President Obama used to say. It turns out ive been black my whole life. So he knows what things are like. And i cant put myself in your shoes, but when you got that third appraisal back, you know, double what the earlier ones were and the difference in your mind is that it was a white guy In The House at the time with no pictures of a black family inside. I wonder how that felt to you. It felt dehumanizing. It felt demoralizing. It felt i mean, at first i felt vindicated in all actuality, and it just allowed me to see that i knew i was right, but then you think about the fact that i had to remove myself from my home in order for my home to have value. And it just thats the part that really hurts. And thats the part that is difficult to get over. And each time i think about it, it takes me right back to that point where its just upsetting. And to think just how often this happens. This is not a oneoff. The instance in florida is not a oneoff. So its something that has to change. And thats why i contacted amy. It is clearly painful, carlette, and when you explain it, it is so clear why. We can hear it in your voice. Well be tracking this. We want to see what happens. What is the outcome of this complaint. Ca Ca Carlette Duffy and amy. New day continues right now. Im John Berman alongside brianna keilar. A dramatic development first reported by cnn. New York State now conducting a Criminal Investigation into the Trump Organization. What could prosecutors find . Plus, the irony of Kevin Mccarthy and the capitol insurrection. He wants nothing to do with a special commission but could be called to testify in front of it. And the qanon Shamans Defense Lawyer questioning the mental capacity of the Capitol Rioters and offending pretty much Everyone Else in the process. Well ask him, was that language really necessary . And the Faa Warning one airline about a problem with pilots. What a Cnn Investigation uncovered here. Good morning to our viewers in the United States and all around the world. Its wednesday, may 19th. An ominous sign for the former president and his business empire. The new York Attorney general announced its investigation is no longer just civil. Its now a criminal probe. Cnn first broke the story overnight. The ag is now working with the Manhattan District attorney on the expanded probe. Theyre looking into the Trump Organizations finances. This includes the former President S Tax Returns and allegations that the company inflated the value of its properties for loans and for Tax Benefits and may have committed Tax And Insurance fraud. No response yet from the lawyers, we should add, but trump in the past has called the Ags Investigation politically motivated. Joining me is barbara redd, former executive Vice President of the Trump Organization who worked for Donald Trump for 18 years. Thanks for joining us. I was reminded of something you told alisyn camerota. You said Donald Trump and this organization felt that laws basically were for stupid people. Right. What do you mean by that. Well, i mean, he actually sort of said that when he talked about how he was able to manipulate the bankruptcy laws. Im so smart. I can do this. And effectively, he really did believe that the laws were built based upon notions that people would follow that didnt have the kind of sense of entitlement that he had. So he both felt that the laws were not for him and he also felt that people that actually followed them had no creative insights that they could skirt them like he did. So you worked for him for a long time through thick and thin and through things going well and not so well. When something like this would happen, and i know nothing like this exactly has ever happened but the announcement of a Criminal Investigation. Clearly in greater legal Jeopardy Today than yesterday, how did he respond . What is likely the atmosphere inside Trump World this morning . More than him panicking, which might be a kneejerk, i think hes furious. I think hes throwing things and yelling at people and no one wants to go near him. I think thats whats going on in the White House not in the White House, in the pink house. Whatever house, whether its the Golf Course in New Jersey or maralago. So we know the investigators, the Manhattan County da and civil investigation before has been focused on Allen Weisselberg, the chief financial officer for the Trump Organization forever. Forever. I mean, this guy has been around there forever. And you have described just how loyal Allen Weisselberg has been. You said when people used to call Donald Trump donald, he would still call him mr. Trump. Talk to us about the scope of that loyalty. The thing about allen was that he was always a sycophant whereas there were many of us who spoke our minds and did our own thing. He was one who actually was bowing to trump. He seemed to adore trump from the very beginning. When i went to trump tower, he was the Chief Accountant or the controller of the operation. And basically, you know, what that involved was Collecting Rents and setting up bills, making payments to contractors and things like that. When he came to the new York Office which is when i came back as Executive Vp in charge of development, he was really, to me, doing, you know, the same basic thing. Collecting rents, sending out bills, paying bills, that kind of thing. Now im sure that evolved to some degree. Even from the beginning, allen was doing all of trumps personal finances. His checking account, that kind of thing. And i think that probably allen did all the time require a lot more power and because trump could trust him and ultimately, i imagine that allen was The One persOn And maybe the only person in the Trump Organization that trump really, really trusted and felt that he would take a bullet for him. Whats the full extent of his loyalty . Do you think theres any possibility that weisselberg would flip on trump . Yes, yes. You know, i heard someone on this morning who said that weisselberg is probably a done deal. Theres not much to get from him. I totally dont agree. I think that the fact that they are sort of setting up his children will make him inclined to, you know, try to get them off the hook, like flynn did, way back when. But i just think that allen probably doesnt want to perjure himself. He was a man that i had respect for and was friendly with, and was a very shy guy, soft spoken. Unless hes changed in that realm, but i dont think that he was the kind of person that would actually commit perjury. Perhaps thats changed, too. I saw him go from a guy who lived in a working Mans House to the big apartment on fifth avenue. Fancy schools for the grandchildren. In that evolution, maybe he has evolved to the point where he would lie for trump. Barbara res, thank you for your perspective on this. Joining me is congresswoman madelyne dean, a member of the judicial and financial services committees. She was also one of the nine Impeachment Managers appointed in the wake of the capitol insurrection. Thank you for coming in to the studio to have this chat. I appreciate it. Pleasure to be with you. Whats your reaction learning the new York Attorney general is joining the Manhattan Da in a Criminal Investigation of the Trump Organization . Its not surprising to me. I think the walls are finally closing in on the truth about the Trump Organization and what has happened. You saw that we in congress tried to exercise our Oversight Responsibility into trump finances, Tax Returns, appraisals of properties and those kinds of things. And the Trump Administration thwarted us at every turn. Were going to see now through the use of the da and the Attorney General in new york. I commend them and hope they get to the truth. You are having a vote on the January 6th commission. Congress investigation or at least potentially to get to the bottom of what happened. This will pass the house, we expect. But right now, the senate is sort of unclear what is going to happen. I want to play what congressman mccarthy, the house republican leader, said last night about this commission. Theres already four investigations. And now we want to put a political commission to go forward . This is driven solely by politics and nancy pelosi, but we should not be a part of that. More senate republicans may be agreeing with him on that. What do you think . I was thinking about that when i saw that last night. The most important thing we bring to our Public Service is our credibility. And sadly, mr. Mccarthy has thrown away his credibility. Hes poured it away in buckets. Think about what happened here. He his ranking member of the committee, representative katko, negotiated in good faith with the blessing of the leadership, the joint commission. Bipartisan, independent with equal Subpoena Power and mr. Mccarthy suddenly now has turned on that. Why is that . Is he afraid of subpoenas . Is he afraid of the truth . You think hes afraid of being subpoenaed that he did speak to trump that day . Yes. Think of the other conversations hes likely had with the president. He was able to call him directly. We know from our investigatiOn And from the Impeachment Trial that he did speak to mr. Trump and pleaded with him to call off the insurrection. So mr. Mccarthy is showing that hes afraid of subpoenas. Hes afraid of the truth. Hes poured away his credibility, and he has strangely tethered himself to mr. Trump, to his failed presidency, to the Big Lie and hes falsely leading his members in that same place. There is a i dont want to say prevailing thought for republicans, some elected officials and some voters that the Insurrection Wasnt really an insurrection or it wasnt really a big deal. You were in the House Chamber when rioters nearly made it in. They pierced the window into the door. What do you say to republicans, including ones who were there with you who are whitewashing this like it wasnt really a thing. Its really orwellian. Dont believe your eyes. Dont believe the experience you actually had. I was up in the chamber on the 6th when the rioters pierced that chamber, breaking the glass, banging on the doors. We were taken out with Gas Masks on. They were chanting hang mike pence. This was no tuesday tour, and i dont understand, frankly, how anyone, republican or democrat, could say that this is nothing to see here. Lets just move on. We need this independent commission. It is not a political commission. It is an independent commission. The very seat of our democracy was attacked. Any one of us could have died and people did die that day. I would think the republicans would want to get to the bottom of it for the simple reason, were sworn to protect and preserve our democracy. If we dont do that now, we are destined to have that happen again. Were you afraid for your life that day . I was. I have to adadmit, i think your brain tells you, no, im in one of the safest places on the planet, but at the time of the banging on the doors, that is what made it very real, and i heard the piercing of the glass. I crouched down. I called my family. I was fearful. Congresswoman, thank you for being with us. Congresswoman madeleine dean. Joe bidens Balancing Act with Benjamin Netanyahu. New cnn reporting on the President S talks with the Prime Minister amid the gaza bloodshed. And is america ready for giuliani, the next gen . Better question, is Andrew Giuliani ready for major Elected Office . Well roll the tape. Plus, quote, theyre all fing short bus people. Those words, which im sorry that i just read out loud, from the lawyer of a Capitol Riot suspect. He joins us live. Life can be a lot to handle. This magic moment, but theres plenty of magic in all that chaos. So different and so new. Was like any other. The new York Attorney general is now investigating the Trump Organization in a Criminal Investigation now. Lets bring in Cnn Anchor and chief Washington Correspondent Jake tapper. He is also the author of The Devil May Dance out now. And a very good book, i might say. Jake, first on the Trump Organization, how big a deal. There it is. John berman is all about it. Its really a good read. Youll need a break from some of the news were talking to you about and thats a good outlet. How significant is this move going from, they were civil, now its criminal. You have the State Ag joining the Manhattan Da. Its obviously significant whenever any sort of Law Enforcement Branch announces a Criminal Investigation of an organization. I do generally, as a journalist, wait until there are charges brought before i believe that its truly significant just because anybody can be investigated. And i dont think that they would announce the Criminal Investigation if they didnt think there was something there. But i am going to wait until there are indictments and a Grand Jury convened before i begin to think that theres actually trouble in River City for the former president. Its a shift, though. As you said, the announcement of a shift from a civil to a criminal thing, we were talking to jennifer rogers, our legal analyst before. They did that because they more or less had to. If you change the nature of your investigation, you have to tell the target that things are different. And that may be it. That may be all we know of this for a while. Well have to see what they come up with. Major development this morning, jake, which is what the house is going to vote on the bipartisan commission to investigate January 6th. A commission that the deal was negotiated by John Katko using terms dictated to him by Kevin Mccarthy. Now Mccarthy And Steve scalise say they dont want their members, republicans to vote for it. What do you think is driving Kevin Mccarthy . Speaker pelosi folded on a number of the issues. She wanted democrats to have more members on this commission than republicans and ultimately chairman of homeland security, Benny Thompson and John Katko negotiated a deal where its 50 50 like previous commissions of its type. Its interesting that mccarthy is not taking the w. Hes not taking the win here. And, look, i dont know whats motivating Kevin Mccarthy but just looking at it, just as an historical matter, Kevin Mccarthy and Steve Scalise and the new conference chair, elise stefanik, all three of them spread the Big Lie about the election. All three of them voted to disenfranchise voters after the insurrection. All three of them signed on to the deranged texas Attorney General lawsuit that would have thrown out four states electoral votes. So, i mean, they are one way or another, complicit in the Big Lie that was part of the insurrection, part of what fueled the attack. I can only say as a human being, if somebody attacked my workforce, i would want to know every single thing about it, whether it reflected poorly or favorably on anyone. I would want to know what happened. And to a degree, that is the workplace for all of us. That is the peoples house, congress. So its kind of shocking that mccarthy is not only opposing it, but now they are whipping against it. Steve scalise, the House Minority Whip is telling republicans not to vote for it. And its relatively shocking. Obviously, its going to pass the house anyway. The big question is, what does this house republican opposition mean when it comes to senate republicans who, so far, have behaved more normally than their house counterparts when it comes to basic standards of democracy. To that point, and im so glad you raised that point about, look, congress deserves this investigation. This commission. But so do the american people, right . This was an attack on its our place. Its so essential. In the senate, though, where, as you said, it seems like more normal behavior in the wake of what happened on January 6th. Were now getting these indications from Senator Mitch Mcconnell that republicans are maybe not willing to go for a commission. Lets listen to his concerns. Im not saying that we have decided this should not go forward. But if its going to go forward, it needs to be clearly balanced and not tilted one way or the other so we have an objective evaluation. So i think its safe for you to report that were undecided about the way forward at this point. You really think, jake, theyre undecided . Do you think hes inclined for there to be some changes to try to make it, in his eyes, more fair . Look, i dont know. Im inclined to give the senate republican leader the benefit of the doubt here because he has, since december, been standing up for basic norms. It took him a little while to get there. He was giving Trump Breathing Space that perhaps trump didnt deserve. I guess the reporting suggests that Jared Kushner was telling Mitch Mcconnell and others, dont worry, everything is going to be fine, just let this let the court cases proceed and then ultimately, of course, trump kept going and is still going today. Still putting out the Big Lie. But Mitch Mcconnell has been there holding trump accountable. So, look, if hes saying that they just want to make sure that the commission is balanced and fair and in the tradition of other commissions, previous ones, lets see what happens. Im not ready to lump him in with Kevin Mccarthy just yet. Look, democrats are politicians, too. Republicans are politicians. They just want to make sure its fair. I dont have a problem with that. Lets see what happens. You have new reporting. Theres an intense conflict in the Middle East right now between israel and hamas. The biden administratiOn And, you know, jen psaki, the press secretary, have said the president is involved in quiet intensive diplomacy. Were not seeing everything thats going on in his approach to the israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Youve got reporting on this. Please explain. Well, when i covered the Obama White House as a White House correspondent, the relationship between President Obama and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was awful. I mean, it was completely fraught. They did not like each other, and they did not have a good relationship. And that had an effect on the u. S. israel relationship. And what my sources tell me is that that informed the biden Foreign Policy when it comes to israel. In terms of the belief and those listening can believe this is a good strategy or not, but im just telling you what the belief is. The belief in the White House is, the more public the conflict with netanyahu, the less influential the United States is. That especially now with netanyahu in domestic political trouble having a tough time forming a government, on trial for corruptiOn And On And on, the belief is, look, if we start scolding this is the belief inside the White House according to my sources if we start Scolding Netanyahu if people start giving Floor Speeches and u. N. Security council resolutions, all that does is gives Netanyahu Incentive to brush back all the criticism. And ignore it all. And stand in israel and portray himself as, look, im going to protect you from hamas rockets, and im going to protect you from international scolding, and i am your protector. And that would be the belief is netanyahus position. Thats how he would handle it. And the biden belief is they could be more effective to get the ceasefire going to get the ceasefire to happen by being diplomatic and behind the scenes. But they definitely believe, look, the last conflict between Israel And Gaza lasted 50 days. This one is, i think, were at day ten now. They know, they believe it has to end. It has to stop. They just think they can be most effective and influential with netanyahu, not doing so publicly. Finally, jake, lets talk about your book. Out now. For folks who want to get this. A continuance of your last novel, the Hellfire Club. The devil may dance. I was pretty interested to learn that you got a little, what, guff. Lawyers were upset because they thought you quoted entire Sinatra Songs in your book . What was that about . If you havent read the Hellfire Club you can still read The Devil May Dance. You do not need to read the first one to understand the second one. When you write a book, a novel or even nonfictiOn And include a line from a song or an excerpt from a song, the lawyers will come in before publicatiOn And say you cannot do that. You can only publish one line. Thats it. Thats it for fair use. And anything more than that, and well get sued for intellectual copyright for property. And so, yeah, i have an entire a Couple Sinatra songs in the book. One of them is The Devil May Dance which is the climax of the book is Sinatra Singing this song The Devil May Dance. Do some of it. I dont have a melody for it. But i quote the entire song and the lawyers were very mad. How can you do this . Weve been through this before. You can only quote one line and i said, its not a real song. Its a fake song. I made it up. Its fictitious. That is not an actual song. So i dont have a melody, but i understand you have a gift when it comes to you and your mandolin. So if you want to, that you used to play with the hasty pudding club. If you want to come up with a tune, im willing to hear auditions for when we ultimately bring this to the screen. But right now, all i have is lyrics. But its not a real song. But that was the best compliment the lawyers could give me by being angry at me. You punked the lawyers. I didnt mean to. Then the editor said you need to put in the book its not real because people are going to spend a lot of time searching on google for this Sinatra Song The Devil May Dance so i put it in. Under duress. But its not a real song. Berman, i think we can work out a tune to this thing. Well have this thing set to music in an orchestra soon, to be sure. Thats awesome. Brianna plays the spoons and you play the mandolin. The tambourine. Im backup vocals. Perhaps in a week or so. I love it. Lets do it. The book The Devil May Dance is available now. It is wonderful. Dont miss it. Jake, thank you so much. New cnn reporting on Donald Trump. What he is spending his Postpresidency Allowance from the government On And why. Cnn has records showing theyre making six figures and pretty up there six figures. Gabby orr is with us on her reporting. Who is making the big bucks here, gabby . He has about ten staffers who are working for him. Previously at maralago. Now that hes shifted Up To bedminster, New Jersey, they are surrounding him there. Dan scavino to miller. Names we recognize from the West Wing during trumps presidency. They are still making, you know, anywhere from 150,000 annually to 172,000, which is the maximum cap that somebody can be making as a Transition Staffer for a post president. So theres quite a few aides who are surrounding him who are helping him with the statements hes putting out, helping him with his political strategy. What we know about the Way Trump is spending his money is unique in the sense that hes paying these highpriced aides to stick around him. Hes not using expensive Office Space, which is something that former President S have done. Hes working out of maralago, out of bedminster, properties he owns so hes saving money in that Instance But Everything hes saving is going toward those sixfigure salaries for his staff. Is that whats atypical compared to his predecessors, not the Office Space and paying the staff or are there other things different as well. Right, no, thats pretty atypical. Former President S, whether they served one term or two terms are usually given a sixmonth allowance to spend on whatever they want. Basically postage, printing, Office Space, thats typically what those cost goes to cover. For trump, again, its been keeping ten staffers around him for the past six months. Already we know, based on Records Cnn obtained that he spent 1. 26 million just to pay his staffs salaries. Its a large sum of money to keep these aides around him. And The Big Question is, what does he do when this money dries up . Hes only being paid he only has his allowance through July 21st mean has about a month and a half to figure out, does he want to start paying out of pocket to keep these same folks around him or turn Thos War Chest . Thats The Big Question. I suppose he does not want to pay out of pocket given if past is prologue, how he wants to pay people for their services. The attorney for jacob chansley, the socalled Qanon Shaman who stormed the capitol on January 6th is drawing attention for claims he made. This is offensive, but they are his words. Albert watkins says, quote, a lot of these defendants, and im going to use this colloquial term, but theyre all fing short bus people. These are people with brain damage. Theyre fing retarded. Theyre on the God Damn Spectrum but theyre our brothers, sisters, neighbors korksworkers, part of our country. They arent bad people. They dont have prior criminal history. They were subjected to fourplus years of god damn propaganda, the likes of which the world has not seen since fing hitler. And Albert Watkins joins me now. Counselor, the Special Olympics says the R Word is a form of Hate Speech and that the word has become an insult used all too commonly in everyday language. Would you like to apologize this morning . No. How does offending millions of americans help your clients . For fiveplus months or for five months, ive worked dill giantly, not just with the assistant u. S. Attorney, the Department Of Justice, the courts but with the national media, including cnn to bring to the fore this very issue. I was on Chris Cuomo when he decided the way to respond to my suggestion that these people needed Compassion And Patience and help was to call them crazy. And you know what . For five months, i acted professionally. I talked to the people that needed to know. I made sure that the Department Of Justice had the opportunity firsthand to meet with my client. The guy who was shirtless with horns, tattoos, fur, to have them understand and appreciate the condition, the Special Needs of my client. I let them talk to my client while he is confined. Not once, not twice, but multiple times. And i got nowhere. All i had to do was get vulgar, get vulgar in a short Sound Bite driven quote that permitted this very issue. There are two issues here. Are you serving your clients well by saying oh, absolutely. And then number two, how are you serving the american people . Using Hate Speech like this as the Special Olympics says, i mean, you can get attention by setting your hair on fire. Doesnt mean you should do it. Thats good. And the good news is im not setting my hair on fire. Youre just using what the Special Olympics says is Hate Speech. When youre done puntunticating im ready to talk. Im doing that which is necessary to put absolutely in the spotlight the fact that our nation is running a gulag, in effect taking people with vulnerabilities, with Special Needs, with sensitivities that put them in a category of being outside of what medical science may say is the Bell Curve of normalcy. And were putting them in Solitary Confinement. You ask any doctor the way to treat people who are vulnerable is not to put them in Solitary Confinement for 23 hours a day. In that statement that i just read using all those different vulgar terms you conflate a number of conditions, which are all different. But theres no evidence that Word Conflate yes, you that word is incorrect. You used a number the Comma Means and. You list a number of conditions which are all different but the important thing is that there is no evidence that any of those conditions which you state caused people to act violently or criminally. Youre not talking as the people in the insurrection are now charged with. When youre done talk im asking you the fact of the matter is then be quiet and ill be happy to answer. The fact of the matter is aspergers what is the evidence that those conditions cause people to act criminally. There isnt any . No, there is definitely evidence to say that somebody with aspergers, Guy Way of example, does not take or receive social cues the way others do. When the government is aware of that, when the government has a duty and an obligation to disclose Exculpatory Evidence to me and they dont. And when they deal with people with vulnerabilities by putting them in Solitary Confinement, somebody has to speak up. If the only way to get you and Everyone Else to understand that you are as accountable as i am and everybody else is about permitting this to occur in our nation, then ill do it. Ill do it all day long. Vulgarity gets and drives your Sound Bites, and im here to exploit it. Again, ill only State Again that whatever conditions you listed there, they do not cause people to commit violence. There is not evidence of that there is no evidence there is no evidence of my clients violence. Its important when theres a dialogue that you permit someone to talk. Youve talked way more than i have, counselor. No, all ive done is listen to you tell me whatever it is that you want to pontificate about. Im happy to let you talk. The air time here thats important is that our nation is permitting people with vulnerabilities to be held in a gulag with 22, 23 hours a day in Solitary Confinement and theres no Indication Or Evidence of violence. In the case of my client, jacob chansley, the government actually incorrectly represented to the court that my client was leading the charge into the capitol. And did so without permission when in truth, in fact, i provided video to the government. Well, the judge in this case the judge in this case has said that the statements that you made were incorrect and ruled against you in your claims. Yes, the evidence that i provided to the government is provided to the government after the last court appearance. What the government provided erroneous evidence to the court. I am not this is not castigating the court. This is our government. Our government. Your government. The court in the past, again, said that before in the timeline, that what you presented to them wasnt true or just didnt matter in terms of holding your client. Let me ask you this that would be accurate. Glad we agree on that. The trump made me do it defense. Youre representing four clients. Do you think it applies to all the insurrectionists . No, no, there are a lot of people who did have vulnerabilities and in the case of my clients, im not saying that the words and the actions of trump caused them to act with criminality. What im saying is, the words and the actions of trump absolutely have to be kept into consideration when youre evaluating the culpability of a criminally accused. Thats different from evaluating the guilt. I want to end with this. A January 6th commission. Congress may vote to institute this commission. They may have Subpoena Power. Im just wondering, if they did get the former president before them to answer questions, what question would you want the former president to answer . What the hell did you mean when you said were going to have to were going to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue together . Why would you say that and not go down with them . Why would you call these people beautiful people . Why choose that word . Why choose that word and then turn your back and walk into the sunset, Hand In hand with Little Wayne getting a pardon. Albert watkins, appreciate you joining us. Vulgar, hurtful language, i dont think, is a good way to get the good news is, i dont work for you. There are other ways. Albert watkins, appreciate you being here. Up next the airline getting a federal warning about the safety of some of its pilots. A Cnn Investigation, next. And Andrew Giuliani wants New Yorkers to believe that he can be their governor. There are some other things he wants them to believe, too. Well roll the tape. One of those carriers has received a federal warning about nine incidents involving its pilots. Cnns Pete Muntean is with us now. What is this about . The faa says theres real issues with American Airlines largest regional carrier called envoy air. The faa says theres consistent evidence of problems with its pilots. It is an airline that millions have flown on, but might never know it. Now new documents obtained by Cnn Detail a federal investigation into envoy air. It is the largest regional carrier for American Airlines, operating smaller jets between small cities and major hubs. Hundreds of times each day. This Envoy Flight that slid off a snowy Chicago Runway is one of nine cases in 2019 and 2020 that the federal Aviation Administration says showed serious problems with the pilots involved. In a letter to envoys ceo, an Faa Investigator cites consistent evidence showing potential lack of are amanship, deeper than what Spot Training or counseling have been able to resolve. Its a big deal. Its disturbing. Reporter former ntsb Managing Director reviewed the Faa Warning and says incidents could have been much worse. The letter describes a flight last year when an Envoy Crew should have been landing on this runway but instead aimed at a parallel runway less than half as long. The faa says only a Lastminute Realization prevented a potentially catastrophic situation. It means that we were, you know, literally seconds away from a potential accident with significant loss of life. It really is an issue of training and culture. Reporter Regional Airlines have long been the starting ground for newer, less experienced commercial pilots. In its letter, the faa ordered envoy to develop an Action Plan to deal with pilot issues. In a Statement Sent to cnn, envoy insists nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and employees. The airline says its working with regulators and its Pilots Union to examine the Root Cause of each potential issue and take any necessary corrective actions. The fire is still burning from a plane that crashed into a house. Reporter Regional Airline regulations were overhauled after this 2009 crash of a colgan Air Flight in buffalo, but Aviation Experts say these latest flights demand a new look at pilot qualifications, unchanged in almost a decade. Especially since envoy says its pilots are guaranteed a direct path to flying larger airplanes for American Airlines. In an exclusive interview, Faa Administrator Steve dickson said commercial flying is the safest it has ever been but this shows the agency remains vigilant. The good News Story here is that this is a proactive action. Its based on data that we have been able to glean by working with the operator to identify where there might be areas of emerging risk that they need to focus On And that we need to make sure that they are, not only compliant, but operating safely. Should people feel safe . Yes. Yes. But its something to never take for granted. I certainly never take it for granted. The faa says its still working with envoy to correct these issues but says these came about as part of the regular oversight. And envoy says this is just part of its Data Sharing with the faa and shows that its system works. Pete muntean, great report. Thank you. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is embroiled in multiple scandals after several women have come forward and accused him of Sexual Harassment amid his administrations alleged coverup of Nursing Home deaths in his state. While Governor Cuomo denies all of those allegations in both cases, republicans smell blood, including the son of one rudy giuliani. Let me know whenever youre ready. Which one is that . Is that ms. Manhattan or Lady Liberty . Thats Lady Liberty over there. Everybody ready . The last time Empire State citizens elected a republican to be governor, the u. S. Had not yet invade iraq, Ben Affleck and j. Lo were just about to get engaged, perhaps some things never change, and speaking of, nelly was telling us its getting hot in here. My fellow New Yorkers, its a great honor to be with you all today to announce my candidacy to become the 57th governor of our great state of new york. Now Andrew Giuliani, 35 years old, fresh off a stint at golfing Buddy And Aide to former President Trump, joining two other trump republicans so far in the race. His Press Conference was full of doozies, including why, despite wanting to be the leader of a state that has more coronavirus deaths than every state except california. Hes saying no to getting vaccinated. I have the antibodies. I am not vaccinated but i continually get tested with the antibodies. [ inaudible ]. Im going to make that decision when i dont have the antibodies. The thing about the antibodies, its better than the vaccine. Not true. The immune response from vaccines is superior to The One from actually contracting covid, according to scientists and doctors. Its why, if you previously contracted the virus youre still advised to get the shot because its unclear how long natural immunity lasts. Now that is lifted tomorrow, ill be taking my mask. I have the antibodies, and i look forward to a time when we have our individuality back. Now that mask is clearly not stifling Andrew Giulianis individuality but it would stifle has ability as an unvaccinated person to do harm to others. The Cdcs Guidance has made more turns than an m. Night shymalan movie. Giuliani isnt about protecting New Yorkers from coronavirus. He wants to protect them from Andrew Cuomo. I think weve all seen how Andrew Cuomo has served himself. We see 5 Million for a book deal. Now that bit is completely fair. Cuomo wrote a book about his supposedly superlative response to the pandemic, now very much under question, and his payday was huge. Do you believe that its a good question. And i think its tough to handicap that race. Andrew giuliani did once claim, however, to be quite the handicapper as a college guy. He once sued Duke University after being cut from the golf team. The case reportedly dismissed by the way. What makes you qualified . Im the only candidate that spent parts of five different decades of my life in politics or Public Service. To be clear, Andrew Giuliani is not promising to make math great again. How do you get five decades . Youre only 35. I said parts of five decades in there. So if we go back through it, my fathers first campaign was 1989. I spent 32 parts of 32 years in politics. Because reminder, hes 35. It appears hes saying that he absorbed his fathers five decades of professional work, even though he personally wasnt alive for all of those decades. He was, to be fair, around politics quite a bit. Do you solemnly swear, so help me god . Im going to have a coaddressee, i guess. Andrew. I thank them very much. Major koch. Remove our structural budget deficit. Ingenuity, the same sensitivity. The same talent. The same courage. It should be so, and it will be so. Pretty cute actually. The elephant of his young candidacy is his father, rudy giuliani. He hasnt been charged with anything and denies commit anything crimes, but the feds did just raid his Home And Office for an investigation into his lobbying efforts, among other things. And hes being sued by House Democrats for inciting the insurrection. So will dad become a liability . When you have got the greatest prosecutor in the history of the Southern District and you have the greatest mayor, not this not just in the history of new york but in the history of america, youre foolish if you dont use him as an asset. This is Andrew Giuliani claiming that folks dont want to live in a country where investigations, like The One into his dad, can happen. So its been people who are very strong trump supporters and some who have not been trump supporters. They dont want to live in a country where youre going to have a Justice Department thats going to politicize something to the point where a former President S personal counsel is going to actually be spied on by the Justice Department. Just an fyi, a federal judge signed off on that raid. This is not an unbridled Justice Department but perhaps Andrew Giuliani is mistaken after spending four years working in the trump White House where politicizing the doj was a daily task on the calendar. Were back in a moment. I brought in ensure max protein, with thirty grams of protein.
